Only artists that perform on MCountdown can be nominated for a trophy which means most of the time it’s a bunch of fairly unknown groups competing against eachother with a few popular established artists in between. Just because WekiMeki is doing better than other groups with lack of popularity it doesn’t mean the song is doing well. Always take mcountdown rankings with a grain of salt tbh
Well the genre in itself (girl crush) isn't that popular..well it is for international fan but not for korean. I mean, why would a group like 4minute back then disband otherwise..and they were way better than this group. Only exception is Blackpink..and that's because they're from the big 3..and anything from there can't fail. What matter is korean fan base..and they prefer cute song, so don't expect them ever get big.

Tell that to the music companies that invest lots of money. Its almost like a tv show or movie they put so much money into it and if it doesnt do well right off the bat alot of ti,es these companies dont have the patience to let these groups form into a mature long lasting money making group
