not sure if you've listened to shakewell but his last album was basically a ballad about him worrying about how people would like his music when he got sober and he was worried about that

I just seen your video pop up tonight although it's 3 weeks old. I have to say it is quite refreshing to hear someone talk on the same subject I hear on a lot of different platforms, I also think you are absolutely correct in saying that a good amount speaks to that shadow self and why some of us find so much relatable and when I first started listening to $B back in 2015 I was already deep AF in my addiction and self hate thoughts of you know... I remember going to a $B show my very first one in Charllotte NC at the casbah maybe not even 100 people were there I remember getting to the show and being in line buying my black face mask with the barbwire at the top and big SB on the cheek. but after that sadly pills started to kick in and i dont even remember the 1st song of the set, but here we are 2024 and goin on almost 7 years sober and have full custody of my twin daughters, and when I heard Scott got clean I was so damn proud and happy cuz its 1 million percent hell on earth to get sober people think its just a drug that you use, they got zero clue you don't even remember who you were before the drugs and who you will be without em almost like the drugs are your persona.... which is why like it really digs under my skin when i see these small minded comments and ignorant people that speak about "he was so much better on dope" like the audacity someone who is sober wants to use forever and idk lmao sorry for the long ass comment but just I felt what you were saying and knowin he wants to move on to more topics than drugs and guns and the whole drug thing just made me speak up :D so Thank you for saying how you feel and not being one of those Scrim was better such such cuz no no hes better now ..

See that right there is beautiful, that’s what I’m talking about. I feel strongly about sobriety and what not bc I know a lot of ppl just don’t get it rather they’ve never had an addiction or still have yet to j rain sobriety. I worked I. A psych/detox unit for 5 years and even nurses - were talking about educated people who had to take classes on psychology and the affects of substance abuse on a psychological level, even they would say the most fucked up shit. Thanks for watching the video, I’m glad you enjoyed and got that part outta it.👌🏽

Relatability factor, I feel that! I thinks artists need to stay true to who and where they are. Who and where you were will always be apart of you at that story can still be told through newer music. Ain’t nothin wrong with tie old ends w/ new.
