You think it was especially hard for Eunji not only cuz she was lying down but she had to keep her hands still? She's usually making some sort of movement while she sings like swaying or holding her mic with her iconic finger moves.
Natalie A. Her hands have nothing to do with her actual vocals though. The reason singers do that is to not look stiff on stage. It’s also a bit of a placebo effect because they think that they sound more stable or better while moving. You know how Mariah Carey touches her ear when she hits high notes? That’s because the note actually sounds more rounded to her when she does that.

i actually think that position could help in preparing her diaphragm to support the high notes. it requires strength to keep in that position and would definitely tighten her diaphragm.

I’m currently having a Running Man marathon and I recently watched the ep where Mamamoo sang Tears and don’t get me wrong, I love Mamamoo and I know they’re great when in comes to their vocals skills but I could see that they were struggling to sing this song. The fact that Eunji sang this song while laying down on her front, sang it effortlessly AND scored a high score amazes me and her talent. She’s seriously amazing.
Let this be known why Eunji has been picked by many singers and idols as one of the best vocals EVER in the industry. She’s not just a legend, she’s a myth that came true!

Gummy has problem in her resonance,which is one of her problem that she confessed,and the volume of her voice are sometimes too quiet and her technique is not that good compare to eunji,also Gummy haven't mastered the breathing properly. Even vocal teachers are amazed by Eunji techniques but the twist is that,They reacted to IDK era,which is 8 years ago.
Thinking that Eunji got that great voice since 2011,makes me curious to hear more of her vocals after 8 years. So I think Gummy is no better than Eunji. But Gummy is great singer too,especially her Ballads and OST.
