The bed line is a great hack for the back fenders. Very durable and matches the liner along the rockers. Eliminates the problem of attempting to blend the color and clear coat.
You could try to spray some paint inside the access holes but I you can’t get good coverage without pulling the bed off and flipping it over, which can be an option for some. So I just keep spraying anti rust oils in there periodically
Pull the taillights and/or the access plugs in video at the car wash to clean. Then treat the inside. If you get it really clean you can treat it with Eastwood Internal Frame Coating
Take the tail lights out 2 Phillip's screws, then pressure wash it directly in the seam. And use fiberglass it doesn't expand and swell with water like blonde filler.
Yes, you can usually get in above the rear fender wells through the tail light cavities. Pressure wash it out until the water is flowing out clear. Let it dry and spray in a Rust Converter with a long straw and let it cure for 24 hours. Finally, Spray in an oil or wax rust inhibitor to displace and keep the moisture from reaching the metal. ATF transmission fluid, new or used, is high in anti-rust inhibitors.
@@mofoperformance That's been my experience with those spray on rust inhibitors. They seem to buy a little more time as opposed to just grinding and priming. Probably worth the cost of a can.
Great vid, thanks for making this!

Great job man. Thanks!
Nice, clear how-to.
Can you spray it up behind on the inside too, to seal it up and prevent more water from getting in?

Thanks for this
How was the back side of where you treated? Mine is shot and thin but i was going to try to take the wheel behind and spray some rust check after

Good idea. Gonna do that this fall before snow flies

spraying bed liner is whats up
Body man told me to remove tail lights and spray out all the junk - only way to do it to stop or post pone this.
I wish I knew earlier about the poor design of these fenders
Mine isn’t rusting but the paint is peeling off by the week
Clean it out by removing tailights. Treat with rust proofer then do this
Post an update after a year. I'm curious how this holds up.
Definitely not a permanent fix. Needs work now. I guess it has been over 2 years tho
