- Chris and Claudia were staying at their vacation home on the coast of Louisiana when they spotted a dog stranded on a nearby island. They tried to rescue her, but she was too skittish. That's when Aja stepped in.

We can never know the trauma that she went through alone on that island, or how she got there, but a dog's ability to trust and forgive is immeasurable. They are so much better than we are in every way. Thank you so much for saving her. ❤️

Damn good guess! I was just thinking the same thing. She has to be, Or she at least has part of the breed in her because the only thing I don’t see (that’s predominant of the breed) is her jowls are a bit smaller. But other than that, There’s too many similarities between the two to just say it’s a coincidence! She’s a pretty girl, regardless!

I cried through this entire story!! I was at the edge of my seat until she had her in her arms and was running out of the bush! Hats off to her rescuer, she knew it was now or never and took a huge risk just picking her up!

Dogs are pack animals, they need to interact with other beings, she must have felt so lonely and scared. I'm so incredibly happy she was found and is safe, best ending ever!!!

We ended up rescuing my father in law's dog when he went into the hospital (he didn't make it out). The neighbor had a fit that we were taking the dog, but she was so obese she couldn't even walk, and struggled to breath. She was nearly 200lbs and a romanian German Shepherd. She did great on our farm and we were able to re-home her with a wonderful family with kids who adore her. I did a bit of a story on it a few months ago :)

I don't have a dog right now, but I love seeing stories of dogs plucked from despair, then see them bloom into living a life full of health, happiness, and being so thoroughly loved. I love each and every one of you dedicated animal rescuers for what you do..
Thank you for rescuing sweet Marsha. She must have been so scared all alone on that islsnd. I wonder if someone intentionally left her there or she was carried there by the current. It is so wonderful to see the actions of good people in this world caring for animals.

The couple, Chris & Claudia are my friends! They are wonderful people who truly were concerned for the dog's welfare. I'm glad they were the ones who found her and saw this whole thing through!

@@jaysky2000 I'm gonna say that she probably was based on a couple of things.
1. they usually get adopted pretty quick after their story is featured.
2. Her breed looks to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog. They are rare breed. Meaning theirs high demand.
FYI: there is usually a link in these videos descriptions to their adoption info or rescuers and shelter.

Being from Louisiana, probably a Catahoula Leopard Dog or mix. I have a rescued Catahoula mix. They are not for everyone but well worth it if you have the time, space and energy. The rescuer is right. No way can a catahoula be left alone for 10 hours. They need companionship and an incredible amount of exercise
A catahoula will eat your house if you dont exercise them daily.

This dogs eyes are beautiful and big thanks to the ppl that rescued her.
You could see a total change on her face once she got into a home. It's hard to imagine what animals know, how much they truly understand about what is going on. To be able to feel secure, being happy and knowing they belong.
They all seem to reach a point where they realize they're safe now, that these people aren't going to mistreat or abandon them. Some dogs take a bit of time to get there, some seem to know right away.

When I'm older I've always wanted to be a vet! It's a dream job of mine and these videos give me inspiration to just do that.

No-one mistreated this dog as far as we van tell from this video. The woman speaking said this was after a hurricane and the the dog was washed up on the shore of the island. No cruelty that is just what happens with hurricanes. But yes people are sometimes cruel, just not in this case.

You see the same look in the eyes of a lot of dogs when they are first rescued. It's just this heart wrenching combination of fear, sadness, confusion, and exhaustion. The change that happens when they've been fostered or adopted is like the difference between night and day. You can see the relief, joy, happiness, and sense of security they feel.
“They” say that the eyes are the windows to the soul ,Marsha ‘s eye’s SAID EVERYTHING and THEN SOME !!! Sure hope Marsha finds a FOREVER HOME !

My neighbours dog Alice has days to live, and I've known Alice since she arrived next door as a puppy 14 years ago; and I fell in love with her. I'm in tears watching this, and I'm nearly Sixty.
Thankfully there are people who actually care for other creatures.
I'm considering leaving a large proportion of my estate in my will to care for these lost souls.
There needs to be WAY more severe consequences for acts of cruelty towards innocent loving animals.
While I agree w you for prosecution of animal cruelty to the fullest extent...I've rescued since 14 & now 66 so I've been in all aspects of rescue...even doing field work in the middle of the nite w law enforcement...however...having lived in the Florida keys for so long...going thru many hurricanes...sometimes animals get caught up in the storm 1 way or another...homes being lost,spooked breaking windows...for awhile evacuation transportation would not allow you to take your pets w you & would have to be left behind...I was involved in a rescue of a pack of dogs after Hurricane Andrew & once we were able to catch them...we were able to get some back to their owners bc they were chipped who all had different stories of how their dogs got away...& how they worried so much while they were evacuated & couldn't come back in to Monroe County...shoot...water was over US1 in Coconut Grove that the national guard was there confiscating lighters & matches bc of all the fuel floating on top of water from overturned boats. There might've been a similar situation w Marsha...just saying

There was a dog found on a sandbar in the Mississippi River near Memphis. She was ill, emaciated and near death. A couple of guys fishing saw her and spent 2 hours coaxing her to the boat. They got her to a vet who nursed her back to health. When she was strong enough, my dog Mary and I went to meet her. We fell in love. She was one of my greatest joys. I had her for 6 1/2 years before her kidneys failed. We think she was about 8 when she died. That was 2 years ago. I miss thar angel dearly. Great thanks to Marsha`s rescuers, fosters, and her forever home family! When I saw this video I checked. She was adopted!

I am from Louisiana and we actually don’t have a choice but to leave our animals behind in a storm something if you don’t have any family or friend to go to or can find a hotel that’s pet friendly.

He goes everywhere with me & sleeps on hotels too & is so well-behaved! I could never leave him behind during a hurricane! That would be a terrible betrayal! It's unthinkable!

He would jump on me completely,roll over,run back n forth so fast,wait for me every morning n show me a lot of love
