    I love the idea of hiding little time capsule gems randomly that capture art that reflect everyone's art, no matter what. DO IT! Love the term "Determineilysm", spot on! Keep it going...

    13:40 octopus are color blind. They only have one type of cone cell.
    24:18 I think drawing mechs and stuff is a byproduct our instinct to tinker and seek beauty. We evolved to tinker because the people who tinker with tools and ideas did better than those who didn't. We evolved to find beauty so we could find whats wrong with an environment, food, etc and also to find healthy mates.

      octopuses - dang
      mechs - I think that's a reasonable reason why we want to draw mechs. I think we're also obsessed with the future, and mechs represent that to use right now

    I think a lot of people fall into the trap of the inability to explain something as proof of some higher power. Funny enough I think this comes from the instinct to find patterns in everything(god is in everything mantra). Despite this there might be no meaningful answer to some of these questions and, for some, the discomfort of this leads to extraordinary thinking.

    Kristian I've been listening to your podcast on spotify and I just wanna say the way you talk about god reminds me so much of shintoism. About god being in everything, and in admiring the world around you. I'm not a shintoist but I feel similarly drawn to how you talk about religion with what I know of shintoism.
    Also wrt Sinix's points on "bad for humans vs inherently bad" I feel like he argued his point extremely well but I have to say that you can also argue from a holistic standpoint that humans bulldozing over other species' and/or sending them to extinction is also bad FOR SOCIETY, given that the survival of the human race, as it stands now, is dependant on the earth and it's eco-system. As the climate crisis gets worse in Europe et cetera I think it becomes more obvious that this affects all of us.
    Of course, I don't think sinix was arguing these things aren't bad, (it was an example to put things into perspective) but I personally think there's almost very little distinction between good for society vs good for the world because we co-exist on this planet and our actions affect the world too. Again, you can still argue that this doesn't affect aliens in another universe, I just wanted to say that.
    Very thought-provoking conversation! I love when sinix talks about capitalism. 😂

    Does Sinix know Steven Zapata was class president? He says he cares about sustainability yet here he is throwing down fighting words, starting a turf war in the online art education community that may last generations.

    • @ruumuur
      @ruumuur 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's instinct to solve a problem you're faced with... roads are a biproduct of needing a better way to move something. It's why many animals take the same paths always, because it destroys vegetation and stomps the path down so it's easier to traverse.

    no offense but the host has such a shit take. its like he's afraid to admit capitalism inherently causes more harm to a large swath of people to only benefit a few. Sinix is truly based and a comrade. glad he tried to help this kid in understanding reality and not give in to his illusion that he will become a millionaire one day just like elon musk

    • @KristianNeeTV
      @KristianNeeTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think it's a complicated problem. Capitalism has done a lot of good for our lives, like help build the roads we use to drive, distribute the food we eat, and progress the technology we use to watch TH-cam videos on. We use the things that have been created as a result of capitalism, including you. I don't think that's arguable. I also believe that capitalism has hurt a lot of people because of greed.

    • @hricky60
      @hricky60 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@KristianNeeTV all those things are arguable. First roads weren't created by capitalism and if they weren't already publicly funded (aka under a socialist framework) every road would have a toll. Second food distribution is horrendous under capitalism due to its extreme wastefulness in the name of profits and is evident since malnutrition and starvation is still a large issue in the world. Lastly, again, innovation isn't inherent to capitalism. USSR, China, universities, open source software, and even the military easily showcase that collaborative effort is more innovative. I'd argue capitalism has slowed the progression of technology due to large corporations buying out innovations that cut into their profits. I'll say though that capitalism did improve on mass production in industry but thats about it.

    • @KristianNeeTV
      @KristianNeeTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@hricky60 I wouldn't say I'm a complete capitalist either, I think you do bring up some good points. Hunger is definitely a distribution problem vs a quantity of food problem. That being said, I think that being said I believe that capitalism (in spite of it's flaws) incentivizes people that I know personally to improve themselves more than I suspect they would under something like socialism.
