I bought one today. A local guitar store had a sale and had the acoustic version I wanted, for AU$100 (about US$75 at time of writing). As I was buying it, the sales guy said they had the bass version out the back. "Same price?: I asked. He said yes, so, as I'm a bass player, I bought it. As he was ringing it up, he said he had better check and took it away (damn). When he came back, he said it wasn't part of the sale, but the boss said I could have it anyway. A very accurate review.
Trace Elliot rocks I miss the huge stacks but you get the best of both worlds with this preamp the classic Trace Elliot sound but able to move it without a crane.
I’ve been wanting to try one of these out - been using the GP12SMX series amps since the 90s. I used to use the dual compressor pedal till I blew it with the wrong power supply : / I have the Ashdown version of that compressor and it’s fantastic!
I play with a bk7 ultra and it's all about different tones for different settings. Tools for a job. Bk7 owns metal, but I'd def check this out for a more portable church or bar gig rig.
here's an idea! - stacking this and a darkglass pedal together!?! or, split the signal and have one side into this, and the other into a darkglass and blend how you want before summing back into a single signal
Here's a novel thought... to have even more tonal choices? Darkglass is great for what they do but, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I get the Transit B might not be everyone else's either but, that is the point of so many manu's making so many different pedals - so that everyone can find something that suits them and the music style(s) they play. It would be such a drag to have only one company making gear cause if everyone bought that one brand, they would eventually all have a very similar tone and sound. It's the same as any other product or items made by multiple businesses - from cars to food - again, to give people different choices, rather than just one.
This is a brilliant review. I bought this unit after watching, and it is spot on.
any feedback on it?
What do you think about it now. Do you use it direct for gigs?

This guy is brilliant for reviews. Mad chops too . Thank you

I can't like this enough. Trace Elliot always takes a crane or five guys to move.
Best and most thorough reviews for bass gear out there!
Congrats mate because you have just become my favorite reviewer.
You are very kind! Thank you!! I genuinely appreciate that!
Excellent review! I'm sold on it!
Good choice!
I have the Elf with one 10 inch and a 2 x8. It's all I have needed.

TE tone machine.. I work hard to cop this sound and rarely get there - my favorite bass kit.. nice review..
I think the bass already sound great without the preamp. With that bass all you need to do just set the gain and output only.
Thank you! It's my own custom designed, so I appreciate your comment!
can I use 4-5 pedal chain into the elliot then into a head? How much craziness would I be expecting and is it possible?
Yeah thats definitely doable shouldn't have any issues.
4:25 Your bass sounds great even without effects! What pickups are those?
Those are EMG DC 45. They are active dual coil pickups.
@@nsalaza Thanks mate!
@@nsalazahad those on a Schecter years ago. Kind of miss that bass
I don’t know the effect but the bass is so good!
I like mine so far.
Thnx for the video!!!
Good review sir.
What is the name of this awsom bass?
He says it in the Video: shuker custom bass
Awesome review. Thanks
trace elliot must to make guitar gear again...they're fucking great!
Those are very new strings
How I like them! :)
Why don’t they get players with good sound to do these demos :///
i a world where a darkglass bk7 exists i dont know why any other effects manufacturer even tries
how errigant!
its an old school brand, and their amps rock!

Pre shape sounded bloody awful
I agree. I don't know why people want to take out that many mids.
It sounds much better with a mid heavy instrument rather than the inherently mid scooped bass he is playing.
