To be honest, 20-ish FPS is basically what I had playing FS98 in software mode back in the days. The sole fact of having that game launching on such power efficient (not to say weak) hardware is crazy.
FS2024 runs pretty well on SteamOS if you switch to Bleeding Edge proton. I've been playing it with very few issues getting around 30fps on low-med settings! I generally prefer streaming it from my PC though
I got it working on my bazzite desktop, same performance as windows. However there is a problem with the disk cache file. I assume windows is trying to take lower level control than proton is expecting.
SteamDeck workaround: credit to: th-cam.com/video/TU43TlqErHQ/w-d-xo.html TL;DR 'Manage' your Proton Experimental install in Steam to select the beta version "cutting edge" 'Manage' your MSFS2024 install to force the use of Proton Experimental, and set your Launch Option: DXVK_HDR=0 %command% I can fairly reliably run out a full mission, but on trying to load the 2nd FBO it freezes hard. :( oh, also, it seems to forget my controller settings each time I load it. Hopeful the Proton team can get this resolved!
Hi Santiago. Can you please tell me how you got MangoHud (performance overlay) to display in different colours instead of just white please. Love the channel BTW.
will this not a better argument to run streaming services to the steam deck or handhelds? Nvidia game streaming and etc or steam streaming (in this case u need ur own pc to do the heavy lifting)
Valve has already said time and time again that another steam deck won't be coming so soon, there's not a lot of room to improve with current technology while maintaining a consumer friendly cost
people need to finally understand frame generation should be used when the game runs at 60FPS or higher. Trying to get 30FPS with frame gen should be punished by law.
Your internet speed should be fine, the rest of the PC is enough, I would play on high with quality upscaling, you can limit how much data is used or download a part of the map in advance. It's really hard to hit 60 fps at all times though, specially in very detailed cities, but it should at least be into the 40s

you must have had a crazy powerful machine then. i probably played that at 8 fps
@@GraveUypo It was an IBM Aptiva with a Pentium 133 and 16 megs of RAM. Later updated with 32Mo RAM and an 3DFX Voodoo1. Incredible machine.
Im impressed that it works at all.

What you can do in steam is is click the steam button and go down to different windows for the game and go to the otherone

Appreciate it, gotta try them all! 😄
144p 13fps is crazy
Technically 640*400, but still 😂

Hey there! There's a plugin called "MangoPeel" for Decky Loader, lets you completely customize the overlay, hope it helps!
@ great. Thanks very much got it on there now.

Nvidia game streaming and etc or steam streaming (in this case u need ur own pc to do the heavy lifting)
Yes, that would be perfect! As long as the servers are close, it shouldn't be an issue
I'm curious to see which device will be launched on the market first.
The Steam Deck 2 or the Nintendo Switch 2?
Probably Switch 2 first

should be called dodo simulator because it's not flying with me.
you should use frame generation then it will be playable
i think you need better gpu for frame generation

@@tydatv2674 no there is two video in youtube using frame generation on steam deck
whats the 3070 performance?
Depends on your CPU as well, what's the rest of the PC?

my worry is my wifi speeds witch are around 100 mb/sec

stalker 2 video again brother?
I'm waiting for the next patch, but I will be doing that one again
@ thank you santiago u are the best brother❤️
Why would you do this to yourself 🤣
I studied ATC a while ago, couldn't resist lol
could lossless scaling help?
like, lock it to 20/25 and then turn on lossless caling with frame gen
Would work, but the input lag would be a big one
