You can type a strong password that your student can not guess. This is the password that only the teacher uses to change the settings of the Safe Exam Browser. You can choose any password here and it becomes an administrative password. At the bottom of the screen are two boxes for unlock/quit passwords. These are the passwords that you or your students use on the students' computer to quit the program so that they get access to the other programs on the computer. Once you have configured the password, then you close the SEB configuration tool and open the SEB program/app and not the SEB configuration tool. It seems that you are using a different version of SEB than the one in video. "Earlier versions could always be reconfigured when using client settings. If you want to allow reconfiguring SEB by opening a seb(s) URL while running in secure mode, then you need to use the "Allow Reconfiguring" and "Reconfiguring Config URL" options in Settings/Exam Session."
Does anyone know how to use the Config Keys with Moodle? I don't want to use Browser Keys as it limits the participants to use the same version. However, I am looking to implement that any person using the correct config file should be able to attempt the exam. Hence using the config keys.
as a proctor , i have tested anydesk which allows access to another PC after a main PC is locked , may i know if this can be prevented and if yes , will it be terminated automatically or will the student trying ti cheat using anydesk be notified to quit it himself and supposed the anydesk is not restricted in the applications pane in the configuration tool, does it mean the student can g ahead to use without being monitored by the proctor

Depends on what kind of machine are you using Mac or Windows. The Windows version has no such functionality, there SEB is always running on the main screen, regardless whether it is an internal or external screen or whether the screens are mirrored or not. The macOS version has some functionality regarding screen projection (see safeexambrowser.org/macosx/mac_usermanual_en.html#SecurityPane). Allow display mirroring (affects also AirPlay Display): If not selected, SEB prevents to mirror the main display to another (for example an AirPlay Display). Maximum allowed number of connected displays: If more displays are connected, these are blanked with an orange full screen window. Disabling display mirroring and allowing only one display can prevent wireless displays be used to cheat or leak exam content. Use built-in display: Use the built-in display (if available) when only one display is allowed or when switching off display mirroring. So if you disable display mirroring, set maxiumum allowed number of connected displays to 1 and enable the setting use built-in display, then only the internal display can be used on a Mac with a built-in display.
In the SEB config file; go to the Applications tab. Click on the Choose Application button and select the application that you want to use with SEB. In my case the cal.exe file was in C:\Windows\System32. Once you are done; save the settings before exiting the seb config file. Then open the SEB app and you will see the calculator icon in the taskbar.

Short answer: Yes. Your webcam and mircrophone can be used to monitor you. Long answer: Relevent settings for the SEB are: Allow video capture (webcam): Allow web applications to access camera (using HMTL 5 APIs). Allow audio capture (microphone): Allow web applications to access microphone (using HMTL 5 APIs).

@@academyonnet okay, I’ve been using safe exam browser since last year but since summer I haven’t used it so when I tried to open it today to write an exam, it said fatal error. I uninstalled and reinstalled it again but immediately I tapped on it to open it said fatal error

You should first uninstall it and delete even the folder that belongs to Safe Exam Browser. After that searh your computer for Safe Exam Browser and make sure that no files related to Safe Exam Browser are on your computer disk. Then restart the computer to clear its RAM memory. Download the Safe Exam Browser and then follow the installation procedure in the video.

By pressing alt+Ctrl+del in Windows 7, safe exam browser gets bypassed and we can shut down the PC.
