I can also relate to the feeling guilty or proud part. I'm from the Philippines and I'm a student studying in the city while my parents are in the province so every time I experience something new and wonderful in life, there's this guilt that I feel deep inside and wish that my parents are here to share the experience with. To anyone who's reading this, I hope that we achieve our dreams in life so that when the time comes, not only can we spoil ourselves but also the ones we love, too.
I was the only child and yes when I am alone and experienced something good, the first thing that comes to my mind was I wish my parents were around to experience the same thing in which feelings like that made me feel guilty, nostalgic which is heart-breaking but at the same time I felt lucky as I knew it was exactly what my parents wanted. That is what good parents want, they want the best for their children and it is that mindset that I will carry when the time comes I become a family man.
im sure your dad is very proud of you ..when my daughters did the same thing i worked all hours i could ..knowing they were able to do well and go on adventures is all a father needs to know its what we work for to see our children do well in there life ..love for our children is endless.
Your content is SO GOOD. The photography, the music, the storytelling, the honesty of gratitude and humility, the revelation of the real you, the thought behind it all - just stunning. Thank you.
Your parents must be so so proud to have you. My mom always told me there's nothing more precious to a parent than having a grateful child, it makes the parents feel like they've lived a good life, raised reliable children and their sacrifices were worth it.
reading recommendation + fun fact: bath is also where 'northanger abbey', one of jane austen's earliest teenage works, is portrayed. would definitely recommend giving it a read Jing; I think you could relate to Catherine's struggles away from home and finding her own voice : )
As the eldest daughter who become the first in the family to study abroad, this video is really relatable. I understand well the feelings on keep being stalled either to be proud or guilty. I am confused whether it's okay to feel excited for the summer/winter break because wishing the holiday to come faster means the faster my parents get old too.
A 20 year old girl , who can be a motivator , inspirational, hard worker , enjoying the life , loneliness , showing each and every moment as precious, family time , alone times , being bold !!!and so on !! Yeah ! That’s you jing!!!! Keep rocking !!! Need your videos as a dose in my horrible life !!!!
This vlog is like a movie! Being alone gives you the perks of freedom but sometimes freedom by yourself can give you a sense of guilt as well. I hope we achieve the things that we wanted and be the pride of our parents and loved ones! You're in a beautiful city Jing!
that last part about wanting to be the tangible dreams of your parents hit way too hard oh my gosh. as an eldest daughter whose plan is to live alone, this was the most comforting video i’ve seen all day.
Being an older sis and watching this at the age of 14 knowing that within 4 yrs I will fly out of my country made me feel so emotional but also inspired and made me feel safe,❤
I’m sure your parents are immensely proud of you. Your channel is a breath or fresh air. Also, I admire your depth of character and independence! Keep up your amazing work. None of us are perfect, but we’re enough!
I can relate to that feeling too, the guilt of doing better than your parents. In our minds we know, that guilt is unnecessary. With loving and supportive parents like yours, this life you feel guilty to have is also a testament to their success as parents. I believe your father didn't toil day and night for you to live the same reality that he has had, Jing.
so glad i found your channel and the content you create in the midst of the oversaturated and similar contents the creators put out these days, thank u for doing what u do!
Was watching your vid at literally 12 and started crying I'm also the oldest daughter in my family and i'm moving overseas alone for my first full time job after graduating and I feel like your story really resonates with mine, how you compared your Dad's working life to yours as well as always wanting to achieve the best for them. Im officially subscribed can't wait to watch more vids from you :)
you are my comfort youtuber. your voice, editing style etc is so calming and peaceful. You are my idol!!! my dream is to study in oxford university and lead a peaceful yet social and calming life.
Jing, this video was so beautifully made!! I used to feel the guilt that comes with leaving to pursue my dreams, but the alternative is that I stay put and don't do everything I can to make use of the life my parents worked so hard to give me! I hope you can find a way to ease this guilt and enjoy the pleasures of your life to the fullest potential!
ur videos are so cinematic and poetic that tears involuntarily come to my eyes. u do an amazing job on the content u create, talk about such important things, about something personal with such trepidation that it is impossible not to immerse yourself in the story u are telling. it has become such a salvation for me now, thank u sm! u are an incredibly wonderful girl who creates one of the most cozy and comfortable atmospheres in her work. ♡
“I want to be the tangible form of their dreams that my parent carried on their backs from their homeland.” Literally choked up in tears hearing this. I am sure they are so proud.
Just thinking about your channel and you upload a new vid!!! I'm the eldest as well, and that part about "feeling guilty or proud" is true. OMG Bath has such a dark academic vibe, and I love it! Also, kudos to you for leaving your camera to take shots, but then having to go back to it after you made it up those hills.
I love the ending line, jing you are the most tangible form of making your parents' and your dreams come true!! stay proud and I hope you have more wonderful experiences because you truly deserve that
Hearing the canto, especially from the parents, just always hits a soft spot. It always reminds me of home and always makes me miss home. Sometimes life is so busy and hectic that I forget about home so it makes the emotions stronger.
I LOVE EVERY single thing about this video! Omg I have the sheer canopy over my bed as well. That apartment reminds me of my own so much. I just don't have that amazing view. LOL The views on your walk were STUNNING and the 2nd place you ate out at is freakin AMAZING! WOW I have got to visit Oxford! THANK YOU so much for sharing doll!
tysm jing for your videos!! they really are a part of my happy place. and your words and your storytelling really warm up my heart and make me wanna work hard like you as well. always looking forward to your videos! lots of love!! 🤍🤍🤍
you're literally the most grateful person i've ever watched on youtube and it's so comforting to hear you talk about your experiences and to watch your videos.
I've never been this early before 😭😭 Been waiting impatiently for this since your last vid! You really inspire me with everything you do, the way you carry and conduct yourself, and most especially your hardworking nature and determination! Also, I love the little catch-ups, it feels like we're talking on a personal level. Thank you for everything you do Jing and keep going! One other thing, I would like to applaud you for how quickly your channel has grown! Congrats 🌺💙
Hi Jing, I just wanted to say that your videos have been a massive inspiration to me, especially as someone who gets homesick really easily and you just seem like a really great person so I hope you keep doing what you’re doing. Lots of love ❤
Jing's quality content never fails to leave us in awe, I could literally hear you story telling for a whole damn day (or more)-I would rather be grateful. Your stories/contents are more interesting than me listening my professors' lectures. 😂 HUGE THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS TO US! And being part of your life. 🥺✨
i don't know why but I cried while you showed the views from the hike...and then wheres my love played I COULDNT HOLD MY TEARS. I felt so peaceful and heartbroken at the same time.
JING i really wanted to say that you are amazing the way you are and people become very motivated by watching your videos. girl just keep going on and never change:)
watching your videos, not only its so therapeutic but a lot of the topic that you talked about in your videos are something that i personally go through and struggles with it and seeing that i am not the only one who goes through them gives me a little peace but also sad that as an immigrant child we have to go through this feelings. regardless of that, thank you so much for bringing such a peaceful and entertaining videos. definitely looking forward to your future videos. sending loads of love from australia
tbh you are my favourite youtuber. Your videos are like movies that I don't want to skip. Also you are so real and you motivate me to move on with my life. Thankyou jingsu🫂 keep making more videos. Love you so much.
I love your videos Jing! They're just so calming and peaceful. I remember when you had 100K subscribers, your channel has grown so much And I can see why! Your content is absolutely amazing!!
You are so mature and sensible for your age! Your parents must be real proud of you. I am in my 30s still deciding on career and other important decisions it feels good to see your videos going to places studying in oxford! Keep this spirit of yours! ❤❤❤
Ever since I was little and my dad would pick up antique items or machines for his business I’ve always loved going with him and seeing new places. Most of the time it would feel mostly like a mini family road trip where once we got to a destination we would explore and see what new things we can find. I think ever since then I’ve always loved the idea of traveling and have been wanting to travel to the countrysides of Italy, England, France, and Japan. It never came to mind of studying abroad but if I had the chance to go back in time, I definitely would have. The only thing that would stop me is my family and feeling this sense of abandoning them. I’m the eldest so I know how you feel about having a guilty conscience of thinking about or actually living in another country. I feel in my heart that Italy is definitely the place that I want to live at when the moment is right. Your videos give me so much inspiration and insight to exploring different places! ☺️
Once I opened youtube I saw your video and I opened it immediately. You really really inspired me in life like you dont know. I started tsking studies seriously now so I can achieve my dreams. Thank you! I really love your videos i'm so happy you posted! And always do what your happy with, always do what you enjoy and keep going till you get to your goal, never give up :) Keep going Jing you are seriously amazing!
you know what, even though i wont be the first generation child to go to college in my family, i know for sure i'd be the first to leave india and eventually never return to settle. oxford has been my dream since i was 9 and almost a decade later, i'm still chasing it. your videos not only inspire me but they also give me hope that despite all the hardships that may come my way, i can still enjoy life upon the policy that "change is the only constant" and i'll forever be grateful
I relate to this so much! I moved across the country to go to university, and especially aa the first generation to go (and the older sister to little brothers) it is a lot of pressure and a lot of sister guilt. My father also works in construction so that bit really hit home for me! It’s a hard thought to have when working in a corporate world, but it’s why I work so hard so I can provide for them. That pressure is hard to shake and I don’t think we ever will, but all that matters is that you’re happy in the process x
hello, I have published an aesthetic a day in my life video. I look forward to your comments if you are interested. I will be very happy if you do not forget to follow me! Thank you in advance! ✨💞
made my day when i saw you posted !! been studying all day for my a-level mocks tomorrow and thought i’d reward myself with this video when i was done!
Idk why but I feel like living with you would be so fun yet so chill, sending love from a high schooler in her senior year manifesting to be like youuu>
Thank you jing for running/walking back and forth just to film beautiful footages for us 😭 I’m so happy that I found your channel! I love your content! Sending loves from Malaysia ❤️
I went on a coach tour with my parents to Stonehenge from London about eight years ago and one of the stops was Bath. I don't know if it's because we were only there for a couple of hours or if I was simply too young to properly appreciate the experience but I don't remember it being so beautiful - because all the footage you shot of the city really was absolutely gorgeous. Like, honestly, I feel like that four-poster bed with the painting on the wall next to it alone would make the whole trip worth it! 🙃 In all seriousness, though, thank you for sharing this. I have yet to make such strides in gaining my independence but with all the daydreaming I've done about the future, I think I have sometimes wondered whether I should feel guilty for wanting something like what you have. But I don't think my parents would want me to feel that way, they probably just accept it as a fact of life that at one point, I'm probably going to want to forge my own path like that. I don't mean that they're completely complacent about it but they simply haven't really ever pressured me to do either thing ("you can never leave!" or "ugh, you're literally almost nineteen, what are you still doing here? You've never even had a job"), I hope that makes sense. I think your parents must be very proud of you, honestly. Your videos alone are comforting and inspiring so many people.
I literally enjoy all they vibe u give us. It's insane (lol) the fact that your thoughts and experiences and the way you talk about them makes me feel like "home". I don't really know how to express it but I really want to live that life too and your videos get me super excited about it. So yeah, thank you for that
Hi Jing! I'm always waiting for your new vids! I watched all your videos, It's so relaxing, I feel like I'm waiting for a new episode of a series movie haha, I like your personality, it's so classy and it's rare to find a vlogger like you who doesn't follow the style of every trending in our generation. Xoxo!
I really loved this vlog! It felt like watching one of those old period movies set in the english countryside like pride and prejudice or atonement. I liked the still shots of different sceneries, the little town was so pretty and the english countryside is so green and lush. I also relate to the feeling guilty part, im also an oldest daughter and i felt so so guilty when i went to live alone for school so I spent all my time working and studying to try and make up for it, if that makes sense. After graduating and talking with my parents though they explained that I didnt need to feel guilty and it would have been ok to take some time to myself to enjoy, while also being productive. Im really glad you took some time to yourself!
I feel so related every time I watch your videos and also feel good after realizing I'm not the only one feeling this way. Thank you for your content and sharing your thoughts to us :)
I think I feel the same, like I always want to made them proud give my all. Be the best version of myself and not only for myself but for them to. Because i think they deserve the best daughter in the world. I can't wait for new videos
moving to another continent soon and have also been feeling very guilty about it even though this is what my parents always wanted. this video felt like a warm hug. thank you for sharing
I love your videos so much, they honestly give me the feeling that I can be just as independent and productive as you. Also I think that you would love Lincoln. It is definitely the most beautiful place I have ever been too. You walk down a road called Steep Hill and you suddenly feel at home 🤎🤎🦉☕
our parents worked hard so that we can have a better childhood now its our time to work hard so that they can have the best senescence. I would say its better to be grateful than feeling guilty. Time and situation is not same for anyone. And if we were in their place we would do the same right? enjoy your life to the fullest while working hard for an even better future. yes living away from parents is painful and sometimes we do question our choices but remember you choose it cuz it was the best option you had :) if not you wouldn't have chosen it. Fighting!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experiences and emotions with us 🤍 You brighten our days and you inspire us a lot 🤍 Sending you lots of love and light from France 🤍
She is just like a elder sister to me i am too an elder sis in my family and i know how it's feel to be one and here you are motivating me and teaching me how to live yourself you are just best Jing we are always proud of you 💕💕❤️❤️

ur the best jing 🥨 i hope u keep fighting strongly and never give up! i am sure that ur dad is literally proud of you for what you are right now! lots of love and energy to you jing
This video was so beautiful, i literally cried at the end, bath is so beautiful, I literally used to go there all the time when I was younger, if you are looking for others places to visit in the area, I recommend Broadway (a really cute village and has walk with the old tower at the top and lots of cafes), and bourbon on the water which, which has tons of small shops and bridges where the river flows through it.
I can also relate to the feeling guilty or proud part. I'm from the Philippines and I'm a student studying in the city while my parents are in the province so every time I experience something new and wonderful in life, there's this guilt that I feel deep inside and wish that my parents are here to share the experience with. Oh shut up korea boy
As an oldest daughter getting closer to college, I really resonated with this.
reading recommendation + fun fact: bath is also where 'northanger abbey', one of jane austen's earliest teenage works, is portrayed. would definitely recommend giving it a read Jing; I think you could relate to Catherine's struggles away from home and finding her own voice : )

Your videos alone are comforting and inspiring so many people.
this entire video>>> i just relate so much and the wall at 3:41
I literally enjoy all they vibe u give us.
Thank you for your content and sharing your thoughts to us :)
wow that last phrase... hit me in the gut, so beautifully said.
This video made me cry in the best way possible
I think I feel the same, like I always want to made them proud give my all. Be the best version of myself and not only for myself but for them to. Because i think they deserve the best daughter in the world.
I can't wait for new videos
Your vlogging style is absolutely perfect.
She speaks my heart everytime 😭
moving to another continent soon and have also been feeling very guilty about it even though this is what my parents always wanted. this video felt like a warm hug. thank you for sharing

thank uuuuu
girl the fact this is my first week living by myself and this is in my yt page.... universe or algorithm?
Fighting!

This video was so beautiful, i literally cried at the end, bath is so beautiful, I literally used to go there all the time when I was younger, if you are looking for others places to visit in the area, I recommend Broadway (a really cute village and has walk with the old tower at the top and lots of cafes), and bourbon on the water which, which has tons of small shops and bridges where the river flows through it.
i'm so happy for you because this my dream vacation just me alone with my thought
