I feel like the H3H3 podcast has basically done a Shane Dawson in that they pretty much gave Trisha a redemption arc. They basically have made her more likeable by painting her out to be a "victim" who has just been hurt and vunerable to everybody she's been around and is lashing out because of it. It was a term used a lot back in the day as a medical diagnosis. My gma was in her 50s before a friend of hers that had a child with Down syndrome talked to her, told her it was hurtful and corrected her behavior. She learned that it was a bad word and why it was and then stopped using it. 🤷🏻♀️ I think that Ethan chastised her, corrected her and she apologized. We will have to see if she uses it again in the future. But until then I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt but only once. Don’t hate me but until a few years ago I used the term “spaz out” for someone loosing control & it’s very wrong. The reason that term was the 1st thing she thought of was because it was used around her constantly growing up. My generation fought for your rights but we did it while surrounded by people who never thought about it. Plenty of people chose their own specific fights like race, religion, sexuality, gender etc. & didn’t keep up with everyone else’s fights. We couldn’t communicate with each other like you kids can. For you EVERY fight is the main fight but we’re only learning to see things that way as adults. There will always be “disconnects” but how you handle them is important. I was wrong & I don’t get to stop being wrong just because I found out. “Accountability” is a constant, you cannot undo your mistakes just because you apologise for them

It was a term used a lot back in the day as a medical diagnosis. My gma was in her 50s before a friend of hers that had a child with Down syndrome talked to her, told her it was hurtful and corrected her behavior. She learned that it was a bad word and why it was and then stopped using it. 🤷🏻♀️ I think that Ethan chastised her, corrected her and she apologized. We will have to see if she uses it again in the future. But until then I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt but only once. I mean she didn’t know about hitler until she was educated and then backtracked on what she had said prior to realizing how wrong she had been in her previous statements. I think everyone has gaps in their knowledge and Trisha has more than the average person. So if my gma could not know, I think Trisha could have genuinely not known because until Ethan came into her life, no one really seemed to care about educating her.
