Most people don't own a piece of furniture that nice. Everything you do is so thoughtful both from a practical point of view and the sentimental nods toward Victoria.
Wow, I´m amazed. Love your attention for detail. It reminds me of my dad who was a perfectionist regardless what he was doing, Thank you for your great content!
"If you are going to make it, make it beautiful." You certainly have done that. Those mahogany knees are outstanding. The finish is superb. The Soss hinges and the brass latches are perfect. 👍👍 Steve is going to be so excited when he sees Victoria. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
I’m surprised no TH-cam boatbuilders have a sponsorship from Irwin for their clamps. Seems to be the first step in building any boat, buy 3 metric tons of clamps.
I can see why woodworkers always say that you can't have enough clamps. Although not a boater I am learning so much about how things can be shaped to fit one piece of timber into another. I am glad I am a subscriber to your channel Bob.
Arabella’s launch was 10/10 and after watching Steve and the crew build Arabella for the last 7 years, I was so happy and excited to watch the livestream yesterday and even teared up during it. Also, seeing you on the livestream was really awesome.
Altough I’m not planning to build a boat and already have a fiberglass 22’ sailing cruiser, I am watching your video’s with fascination and in awe for your craftsmanship. I certainly learned some techniques that also come in handy with other projects. Thanks for that.
Bob, that's a master build, just WOW. I love the recuperation of old Victoria's wood. That what I like about Victoria and the Arabella, one is recycled and the other is from sustainable foresting, just love the eco friendly approach. Thanks for chairing your master craftsmanship… Danny
WOW is the word, yes. I really dont have any interest in wooden boats (I think). But what got me hooked on Arabella, Tally Ho and now this channel is the craftsmanship and pride in your work.
It’s a real joy to watch a true craftsman ply their trade. Watching the cadre and precision you apply to every piece and the thought process is rewarding to watch beyond words. All the pieces added in this video just made it look more like a boat that anyone would love to own even if they didn’t have a bigger boat to put it onto or to use it with…like Arabella. I watch the live launch and it was fun and you could feel the emotions just getting it that far and finally got it into it’s intended element, the water. I can’t wait to see what this boat looks like on her deck when it’s done.
In addition to looking traditional, spacers on the inwales allow water (and dirt/sand) to flow out freely when tipping the boat on edge to empty water out. They also make the gunnels stiffer for better rowing and provide a nice platform for raised oarlock pads.
After seeing what the dinghy has become I'm glad you took on the task of making it and clearly put a lot of hard work and love for boat building into it, it truly turned out the best it could ever be AND with re-used parts of an old boat that will be remembered for a long time to come. 👍
I watched the launch yesterday and I have to say both the professional boat builder, and the beginner built absolutely stunning vessels. The launch went so smoothly that I almost wanted someone on the dock to fall in for some comedic relief. Things could not have been more perfect other than the light rain. I am so proud of the work you builders made. Congratulations!
This is one of the finest design/build series that I have seen. This has been a pure joy to watch and learn from. I am also humbled by the skill this master craftsman makes look so easy. Who in the world would not appreciate a tender of this amazing design and build quality... With great respect... Joe
LOve it love it love it. Bob you nailed it, with this build as I've said, with previous comments Steve gonna love this little dinghy.. you've done a fabulous job.
Lovely work, Bob. You have recreated my favourite era of boatbuilding, the Edwardian, with mahogany, bronze and natural and white finishes. Shades of The Riddle of the Sands and Dulcibella !
Just beautiful, what else can you say. You are a real professional boat builder. I spotted you using a foam brush some time ago and thought I would try one on some jewellery boxes I was making and I found them great to use. I also watched the launch of Arabella yesterday and what a great day for Steve and his team. The Gods blessed it at the right time of the launch so it received a nice sprinkle. Arabella is certainly a nice boat and Steve should be very proud of what he has achieved. Like you he is very professional and what I liked about the build was he always researched a project well before tackling it. Something we could probably learn from. Cheers Ian
"If you're going to make it, make it beautiful". What a great saying! For me it was a garden, but it applies to so many things in life. This is one of the very few channels where I set the bell icon to alert me as soon is you post, as I very much enjoy your attention to detail, craftmanship, and of course, beauty. Thank you so much for sharing!
Victoria is an absolute beauty. I love how you have incorporated as much of the original boat as you could. Beautiful work Bob, it’s truly been a pleasure watching!
Almost unbelievable except I actually just saw you do it. Clearly your finest work yet. You are true master craftsman! In every sense of the word. Incredible. Victoria is absolutely beautiful. Arabella launched perfectly, and so will Victoria! BRAVO!!
What beautiful boat. You really can see your problem solving philosophy applied throughout the build; each component is added with purpose and thought rather than simple adherence to a plan.
There is a lot more to this than I was thinking Bob. The tender is looking better and better. I thought myself that the last thing you were installing were called gunnels rails. 🙂
The in-wales and out-wales together are call the gunnel. I misspelled it in the opening slide. 🤨My dyslexia strikes again! It is pronounced GUNnull. The old spelling is gunwale, with the same pronunciation. This spelling is not used much now.
Bob Sir… I watched Arabella’s launch yesterday and I was speechless!!! This whole time I have had doubts that anyone could match the fit and finish Steve and crew has done. You are putting your heart into Victoria and it shows!!! Impeccable craftsmanship!!! Well done Sir!!!!
Not only beautifully built but beautifully engineered! I saw you in the launch video yesterday and I assume your beautiful creation was with you... I'm sure that it was an emotional experience for both you and Steve. I'd like to congratulate you both for jobs very well done!!
Awesome job, got to see Bob at the launch on Saturday, along with the whole Arabella Crew, how lucky am I that I only live 20 minutes from Mattapoisett and got to see Arabella launched!! Can't wait to see the finished Victoria!! Couldn't go to the launch on sunday, band had a gig...
Wow....the seats look amazing. I really like the clever idea on the hinges. I know you put 5200 on the bronze tow eye, but should you have also epoxied the inside of the hole to avoid rot if the 5200 were to allow a small amount of water to leak in?
Gosh, that's a beautiful boat, and so well developed. I developed the Wright rules in my design life a long time ago, though I had no knowledge of the book. I always tackle the hardest part of a design first.
This has got to be the most artistic and detailed dinghy of its size ever built. Plus, it is full of the historic recycled original timber!
"If you're gonna make it, make it beautiful." You, my good man, are absolutely doing that.
You sir are an Artist, a Craftsman, a Genius....simply WOW.
Most people don't own a piece of furniture that nice. Everything you do is so thoughtful both from a practical point of view and the sentimental nods toward Victoria.
Arabella's launch was so smooth. As far as i'm concerned, it was a 10/10.
You are truly a master of your craft and this project will definitely enhance the arabella project 👌🏽❤️
Bob, thank you for the videos of building "little Vicky". You most definitely live up to your motto.
Wow, I´m amazed. Love your attention for detail. It reminds me of my dad who was a perfectionist regardless what he was doing, Thank you for your great content!
She is getting so beautiful!
"If you are going to make it, make it beautiful." You certainly have done that. Those mahogany knees are outstanding. The finish is superb. Those knees are from Tamarack/ American larch rootstock.
This episode worth it for the Soss video alone!
I’m surprised no TH-cam boatbuilders have a sponsorship from Irwin for their clamps. Seems to be the first step in building any boat, buy 3 metric tons of clamps.
I love this guy. Superb workmanship, this little boat will be a shining example of a beautiful little tender, sailing boat. Nice one Bob. A beaut.
Wow Bob what a beautiful build! Arabella’s little sister is stunning!
Victoria is beauriful. Truly a broad fashioned by an artist. Looking forward to her big splash today.
I can see why woodworkers always say that you can't have enough clamps. Although not a boater I am learning so much about how things can be shaped to fit one piece of timber into another. I am glad I am a subscriber to your channel Bob.
That is gorgeous craftsmanship! I have literally zero need for a boat like this but suddenly I want to build one!
A lot of information packed into a very short space of time, perfect viewing as I drink my Sunday morning coffee. Thanks for sharing ☕️😃
Craftsmanship married to imagination; great combination!
Just fantastic Bob! You are Knocking this out of the park.
I think this is quite possibly the most beautiful tender I have ever seen.
Lil Vicky spoke to me. She said, ‘Shoes, and knees, should come in pairs’. My center seat really wants PAIR of knees. Pretty please. 🙂🤞🏻
Sooo cool, I love watching Bob perform his own kind of magic. 👌😎
A beautiful tender for a beautiful yacht.
You are an amazing person, Bob!
Arabella’s launch was 10/10 and after watching Steve and the crew build Arabella for the last 7 years, I was so happy and excited to watch the livestream yesterday and even teared up during it. Also, seeing you on the livestream was really awesome.

WOW is the word, yes.
I really dont have any interest in wooden boats (I think).
But what got me hooked on Arabella, Tally Ho and now
this channel is the craftsmanship and pride in your work.
Well, both hold plenty of recycled wood from Old Victoria, the tender is just a much higher percentage of recycled wood than Arabella.🎉
Beautiful execution of using Victoria's breast hook, I love that detail. Great and informative video as always Bob keep up the great work.
It’s a real joy to watch a true craftsman ply their trade. Watching the cadre and precision you apply to every piece and the thought process is rewarding to watch beyond words. A True Artiste. Bravo. Superb workmanship.
In addition to looking traditional, spacers on the inwales allow water (and dirt/sand) to flow out freely when tipping the boat on edge to empty water out. They also make the gunnels stiffer for better rowing and provide a nice platform for raised oarlock pads.
Masterful. It all fits together like a live puzzle.
After seeing what the dinghy has become I'm glad you took on the task of making it and clearly put a lot of hard work and love for boat building into it, it truly turned out the best it could ever be AND with re-used parts of an old boat that will be remembered for a long time to come. 👍
from day one all the way from Puerto Rico your work is second to none love love love . thanks for your information .see you in the Caribbean 🇵🇷
Loving the daggerboard and tiller stowage Bob.
Your make it beautiful mantra ties so well with Steve’s Arts and Crafts approach.

Thanks Joe
A wonderful launch this weekend of both Arabella & Victoria! A pleasure meeting Steve, Bob and the entire crew. Congratulations all!
Truly beautiful! Exceptional in every detail.
Bob, this boat is beautiful enough to just hang on the wall. It's almost a shame it's going into the water!
Really love all the small details you have put into tender Victoria! I only hope I can be half as creative on my next new build as you have been.
You are brilliant.
LOve it love it love it. Bob you nailed it, with this build as I've said, with previous comments Steve gonna love this little dinghy.. you've done a fabulous job.
As usual, a masterful combination of craftsmanship and components with an artful result!
Really enjoyed this, plus you have given me a few ideas. Please continue to make these videos, very nice.
Yes, you're definitely making it beautiful. It looks fantastic.
I love your calm, quiet, but exacting, craftsmanship. Very pleasant to watch you work and to listen to your explanations.
Lovely work, Bob.
You have recreated my favourite era of boatbuilding, the Edwardian, with mahogany, bronze and natural and white finishes.
Shades of The Riddle of the Sands and Dulcibella !
Beautiful! That’s a great tender with lots of history built in!
Yes indeed!

From france 👍👍👍
Beautiful dinghy.
Victoria is going to look so good alongside Arabella, I've yet to see the launch video. 😀
I’m a woodworker and I really enjoy the detail that you go into with your videos after all that’s what woodworking is all about
Bob you made it beautiful! What a craftsman and artist you are! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
good job
Gorgeous! Might need a hidden spot to put an AirTag or other tracker just in case….

Those finishing touches are really amazing Bob.
Just gets prettier!
Almost unbelievable except I actually just saw you do it. Clearly your finest work yet. You are true master craftsman! In every sense of the word. Incredible. Victoria is absolutely beautiful. Arabella launched perfectly, and so will Victoria! BRAVO!!
Wow, thanks!
Homage 😇 Great ideas and beautiful work
Sooooo beautiful. Steve will be as proud of this one as he is of Arabella. I hope to see you do a trip with Steve and his crew.
Elegant design.👍
The dink looks great
Long live Arabella!

Amazing details! Goodonyas! Really enjoy the cadence...well done,!
Wow Bob. The hinged seats were really a clever design. Victoria is simply Beautiful!! Awesome work and thanks for sharing another great video.
Great job, Bob ... it's beautiful!
absolutely beautiful. so impressed with a boat made from salvaged materials. 😍😘
Coming along nicely! looking forward to seeing her in the water next now that we've seen Arabella get wet.
Thanks for another episode Bob - Pure pleasure to watch again!
You Certainly did make it beautiful Bob !! Nice work and thank you for including us in the building of a masterpiece.
Beautiful work, Bob!
What beautiful boat. You really can see your problem solving philosophy applied throughout the build; each component is added with purpose and thought rather than simple adherence to a plan.
Quite beautiful
A work of art.
Just gorgeous
I'm very excited for the spars! This episode was incredible, great work

Beautiful workmanship as normal.
Beautiful work sir
Hi,another brilliant episode,I love the detail and skill that goes into the boat which is becoming more beautiful every time I see it.Cheers Roly🇬🇧.
This is turning out beautiful . Great Job!
That music video about the hinge was banging
Should you have put some Loktite on the ring-bolt threads? That little boat is a Master-piece, delectable.
Gorgeous!

Amazing work Bob!
Just beautiful - thanks so much for sharing your craftsmanship!
Well thought out design and absolute craftsmanship!

Beautiful work as always Bob. Nice video! Got a kick out of seeing you at the launch of Arabella.
Great video thanks
Gosh, that's a beautiful boat, and so well developed. I developed the Wright rules in my design life a long time ago, though I had no knowledge of the book. I always tackle the hardest part of a design first.
