If you want to survive after appointing a kingdom, there are literally only a couple of rules that you need to follow. 1. Size: get a sizeable fiefdom before committing to a kingdom. A couple cities, more castles, in the same region so you dont have to end up running your leg off to try and keep it together when you become a king. 2. Most or all of your companions are to be your nobles. You only need 1-2-3 of them to be your captains, depending on how diverse you want your armies to be, and the rest should be leading troops as soon as you can get them funded. Them leading their own troops will have them leveling up the skills they will need when you make them nobles. As soon as you become a king, you shall give them fiefs, and make them nobles, so your kingdom starts with not only your roaming parties, but theirs in addition. In time all their parties will become commendable forces that are capable of defending the kingdom as well, but it needs time, which is why you have to get them out ASAP. 3. Mods: as much as the game is worth, you will be railroaded into an endless battle and logistics simulator if you don't round out the gameplay with some good mods that help to make the game actually pan out to a wider range of activities. Diplomacy is crucial, its best features are that you can send messengers to any notable person that you met already so you don't need to run across the map with your entire army if you just want to talk to them again. There are options added to the game that let you create factions to kick the king off their throne in a country, to make pacts with countries, to arrange marriages, etc. It is a mod that adds some well needed life to the noble politics roleplay. Also if you build relationships with specific rulers, they will be unlikely to attack you. Other mod to consider is Arranged Marriage, which gives you control over your clan members and family marriages. It enables you to build up your nobles, by giving them spouses, for dynasty making...
One of my favourite things to do is running around with a full cavalry army mixed with standard cavalry and horse archers, its so good especially when you reach like above 60 troops
Was an empire culture vessel of the Khizat and this latest version of the game literally handed me 3 towns and 3 castles - i used my influence to pull a 4th town. As part of their culture, I have more towns than two independent kingdoms. Use what time I can to build them up before taking them all with me.
Have you thought about using tactics? Also when you seige, build trebuchet then put them into reserve until you have 4 then bring them all out at once...no catapults to kill your troops and holes in the wall to run through
Holes in the wall is only going to be beneficial if you're confident you can stay there until they're fixed to stop the enemy from taking it right back. That being said, I almost always break the walls and leave the settlement as soon as I've set up the build order and governor then pray the enemy doesn't send another 2000 man army to take back my worthless castle lol

Laith there’s a much faster way to sell all of your loot, you just have to go up to the top where it says sell all. And if you wanna sell all your weapons, for example, you go into that category. You also sell more than the cities can afford, meaning that you actually lose a lot of money that you could have gained.
