- First make an incision in the top part of the pomegranate and then pry open the top part and pop it open like a lid. It comes right off. Start by cutting the skin of the pomegranate right on the ridge of one of the sections. After all cuts are made gently open the pomegranate and the pomegranate will open easily separated by the white walls of pulp.

My life is so much better because of this video. I no longer frustratingly peel open a pomegranate in little pieces. My eyesight is 20/20. I can run 10 km in one go.
What
Real
Pomegranate did ALL THAT for yo'?
Fun fact: if you look closely at your fruit while you cut it, itll spit juice directly in your eye so you can scream and run around like a real madman
This reminds me of the "Put a bee in the freezer" post on Tumblr
i have a burning feeling that this happened to you
So funny and so accurate, I am stood here splattered in red 😂
😂😂
Really wow!!!
I had a pomegranate sitting on my counter for a month because I thought it was too much trouble to open it! Now, thanks to you, I see I was wrong (& I've already eaten it 😅)! Thank you so much for sharing your helpful instructions with video!
Your technique and instructions are simple and so effective.
It works!
I looked a lot of videos on how to cut open a pomegranate but it came with a looong talk about it, which it's good for some vviewers. I just wanted to know how to open one. and your video IS THE BEST!!!! thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the feedback, I keep all my video to the point!
THIS. TIP. WAS. EVERYTHING. Thank you so much for making it! I used a thicker plastic spoon and it worked soooooooooo well! Now I’ve got arils to snack on instead of junk food!
Mmm microplastics.
@@domenik8339that isn’t how microplastics work wow how medical you are 😂😂😂 microplastics only go in food or drinks when it’s been touching it consistently for weeks
Glad I watched your video before I cut open my first promagranate!!!! Thanks...
I juiced my pomegranate tonight. Gets rid of the seeds that way, too. But the juice is not clear and dark red like the stuff at the store. It's a pretty, cloudy, pinkish color. It tastes so much better than the commercially filtered juice. Thanks for the perfect cutting advice!
I never thought about juicing it. But I do have a juicer. A customer of mine gave me 2 of these as a tip so I had to look up this video on how to cut it lol. I may actually buy a bunch and try em in the juicer.
Pomegranate juice is popular in India actually. But despite the dislike for the seeds they're actually good sources of fiber so better to have it that way than juiced
couldn't believe after 30 years plus of opening a pomegranate the wrong way and losing half the seeds it was this simple!!! now I can finally have a whole bunch of great seeds to munch on for the next month or two 👍
Super concise and clear instructions! Thank you!
What she said!!!😅
WOW! It worked! Thanks so much.....I can't believe it really worked! Pom is my favorite this time of year!
Oh my goodness! All this time I’ve been struggling and this is amazingly simple! Thank you so much for sharing!! 👏👏👏👏
Excellent! This was a huge pomegranate, and I had more cuts, but it worked perfectly! Thank you!
Thank you for your demonstration, it was very easy to follow.
All of these yrs I always thought it would be complicated , someone gave me one & thankful for helpful videos like this
Great way to cut poms. I grow my own so for clarity you are actually cutting the bottom of the pomegranate. The top is smooth except a tiny place where the stem was attached 😊
Thank you for this video! so well made, length was perfect and I'm excited to enjoy some pomegranate.
You rock! People like you make the world go round, thank you sir 😊😊
Thank you so much for your beautiful photograph, the team effort of making the video that makes it sooo easy to empower others to include this excellent fruit in our diets!
As a health edutainer, I appreciate that you also included the bloopers…and showed the humble side of life so the rest of us can feel more normal.
“The easiest way to cut open an animal” hahah that blooper killed me!! This is so helpful though, thank you :)
Lmaoo
💀
WOW... this is great!!
I just got a bunch of Pomegranates from my neighbors here in CA. (like you) ... and didn''t know how to open them.... until I searched You Tube and got... YOU!
Thank you so much!
This is so satisfying to watch! I knew the method but needed to be reminded which end to cut off. Thank you.
Thank you Sir, this was EXTREMELY helpful
👍🏼👍🏼
who else here considers pomegranates as their favourite fruit?
If ambrosia weren’t a myth, the Gods would have been referring to the pomegranate.
What a wonderful fruit. It's too cold to grow them where I'm from, but I always make it a point to buy at least one a year when they're in season.
I eat one once or twice a week got rid of diarrhea feeling. ❤
Thanks so is the best thing I've ever seen 😄😄 time to start obsessively eating pomegranates!!
Brilliant! Thank you sir.
My new favorite fruit!
Just made some fresh ginger root granola with coconut and pecan. These delicious Ruby bursts add something very special!
Amazing help! Now I've got a bowl of pomegranate for the evening!
I’m a naive when it comes to kitchen stuff, impressed my partner with the outcome. Thanks for sharing
Great video…easy instructions. A huge thank you.
Thanks. Tried your method and works wonderfully. 👍
Thanks Jag, for this perfect but simple solution that worked for me.
Fantastic! It worked great the first time I tried it! Thanks so much for the tutorial.
thoughts "nice, easy video. great length". then the bloopers came up :D that is how you set yourself a part from the generic competition. about to cut a pom for the first time! thanks for the info and chuckle! then i'll check out your other videos :)
Thank you for your instructions I never eat this much because they're so difficult now I know how to open one
Very useful explanation God bless you tried and it works well
Thank you my life is forever changing for the better, And to think if I hadn’t have opened youtube I would’ve just eaten this beautiful thing infront of my like a savage practically ripping it apart part by part as I always have. Thank you good sir
I was feeling kinda dumb to search how to cut a pomegranate, but you have 302k views 😅
Very helpful!! Thanks for posting! Makes all the difference to know what you’re doing!!😊😄
Thank you, your video was so easy to follow, my pomegranate was delicious 💖💖💖
Mine didn't have 4 nicely divided sections but more like 7 sections. But this video was still just what I needed. I feel like an expert now.
this is the most honest video on opening the fruit
I loved the bloopers! Haha
Upvoted simply because he includes bloopers at the end of the video.
I ordered pomegranate online and now watching this video out, coz I never peeled one... Really helpful
Great tutorial. Can you make another one: How to wash red pomegranate stains from your white T-shirt? And I always tell myself over and over that I have to read the comments first.
STOP. I OPENED MY POMEGRANATE AND THERE WAS A FREAKING BUG INSIDE OF IT. IM SCARED. IDK WHAT TO DO. I WONDER IF THERES MORE.
perfect way to cut a pomegranate. Can’t wait to dig in
Wow gotta try this. I usually have to fight with the pomegranate so I try to avoid them but my daughter loved them as a child.

I was just was given some pomegranates and I found you how to dissect the fruit thanks happy eating Godbless.
Thank you. I had no idea and never ate pomegranate before.
Eat one today!
1.3 million views! The top off part looks great, and the sectioning. After that it’s a fiddly process whichever way you do it. But not untherapeutic
Thank u so much for this i bought yesterday it is a big help keep it up!
The video made it seem to easy but it actually was SUPER easy! Thank you!!!!
Haha!
Jag, there seems nothing you cannot do. Thank you for this instruction.
thank you! i always ate the seeds one by one from the sides
Thanks a lot, pomegranates made easy
I have never had a pomegranate that isn’t pure chaos inside.
LOL 😂 Right?!
Thanks, Jag. Super helpful!
Thanks for the education & humor !:)
Okay. So first, there were 8 sections in my pomegranate and several of them did not have the white pith all the way to the top, so I could not see it. Then, when I “gently pulled it open”, the white pithy layers were wrapped all around layers of seeds, not just one nice bundle in the middle. Then, I hit it with a wooden spoon multiple times and the seeds did not loosen, but it did crush quite a few so that when I put it down, it “bled” all over like I had murd3red a small creature. Took ten minutes to finally get all the seeds out, so I think maybe we had different species of pomegranates because this method was not successful at making it easier for me. I’m glad it worked for you though!! Looks like your experience is much more pleasant.
Am I the only one that likes to eat the thin bits of pulp? It's like tasty paper.
Thanks bud. I like how many times you say Pomegranate or “the pomegranate.”
My dad was making a terrible mess cracking them open with a hammer before we found this video.
Amazing.. Now I will teach my wife and future children as well😂
Great explanation and demonstration. Thank you
Great video and loved the blooper at the end!😂
👍
Hopeful that my plants will make this coming year!
Love the bloopers! That was a pomegranate wasn’t it? 😂😂😂
Haha I called it Pineapple few times too while making the video, probably because I made pineapple videos recently and it just came out.
Game changer!Usually when I eat a pomegranate it looks like a murder scene. I just deseeded two pomegranates and it was so much easier and cleaner.
I was looking for a video for this method, I knew it existed but not how to do it and was previously cutting seeds in half since I cut all the way through the pom, thus getting sticky red juice everywhere 😅 thank you!
I still had tiny bits of the white flesh stuck to the fruit too but I didn't mind so I'm gonna skip the water step, too much work lmao
Hey Jag - what camera are you using? Looks gorgeous!
When you first dropped this video I was like “okay cool this is good info if I ever buy a pom”. Well I happened to get one last night and re watched to get it done. Thanks alot sure beats trying to eat the kernels out of the rind.
Glad the video was helpful! Did you like the pomegranate?
THANKS!! This was awesome.
Just used the tip. Grazie!
Thank you!! This was very helpful, especially since I’m a college student who can’t afford to go to the ER if I mess up 😂
the blooper at the end had my dying 💀

Nice.
Small correction: the "top" of the pomegranate that was shown is actually the bottom of the fruit (stem side is on opposite side).
Thank you for sharing how to open this fruit
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel!
Awesome! Thank you! 😃
