I would like to see this boat tested with a Sharrow prop installed.

I seriously considered moving up to this vessel, but with having a dog and child, the backrest not extending across the full stern presents a safety risk I choose not to take. It's a shame that wasn't thought of in the design...

I love the 28 Cabin you reviewed but this could be a nice starter for the Chesapeake Bay area. Thanks for another good review. Keep flying!

I wouldn't buy it for the Chesapeake, the water there is like a septic tank -- move somewhere else to fully enjoy it !!

Nice review. I'm not picking on this boat in particular, I would just like to hear more about any shortcomings on every boat reviewed. RV reviews seem a lot less worried about upsetting a manufacturer as RV manufacturers seem a lot more open to constructive criticism. Perhaps it's easier to address a concern or oversight in that manufacturing process than in the marine world.
Reviewers in the boating world just seem a lot more reluctant to point out any flaws than an RV reviewer is all. I'm not sure if this is out of some kind of elitism where boat folks leave some onus on the buyers, or if boat reviewers just cower away from knocking any particular boat brand for fear of being shunned.
All I know is that the RV world sure seems a lot more open to criticism and quick improvements and rectifications of obvious shortcomings.
In the marine world's defense, fixes to oversights are probably way cheaper and easier to implement in the RV world.
Still, I feel a lot of oversights are probably rooted in somebody's stubbornness and ego that perhaps isn't as prevalent in other industries.
Of course you will all tell me how wrong I am. Hehehe.

Agreed - how can there be no negative aspect at all to this boat?!? These are not balanced reviews in the slightest. Anyone would think they are being sponsored by the manufacturer...

@@richardbailey754 If you watch Wavy Boats you'll see Axopar's don't do well in rough water at all. They are definitely inland and protected water boats.

@@SquireJethro from other videos I've seen, a lot of that has to do with inexperience running this type of hull design. Trim the engine and tabs correctly and these perform just as well as any other similarly sized standard v-hull boat.

Is there a TH-cam reviewer that rates best quality built boats?
Where over a period of time, the boats are not falling apart, delaminating, structural soundness etc….. every TH-camr I see is usually a good review with a few changes they would like to see. I’d like to see honest experienced opinions on structure and materials and what companies are the forefront in build quality.

There are none. Your best bet are boating forums, like YBW. There there are long time owners of various boats, and since their boats are not on loan or anything, they can be critical.
Just keep in mind that even these relatively cheap boats, of lets say $80k starting price, is really quite pricy for majority of boat owners. So it really cuts down on the number of people who go online to talk about these things.

Acrylic windshield? REALLY??? That's prone to scratches and the visibility is poor. I think I would feel claustrophobic in the cabin. This boat better be not expansive because it looks cheap!!!

Destroyed the Brand with this piece of junk absolutely. The Axopar Cross is an amazing power boat. This design is entering into a hyper competitive segment of the US Market and did not come out swinging as needs be doing for this as entry level/mass market. The pure BEV entrants are absolutely about to enter this segment big time/imminently. A micro turbine hybrid drive in reference to what inspired this entire design in the first instance was absolutely the way to go as part of creating a 21st Century product as the original Turbina began the 20th Century so spectacularly.

Seems to cost 44k €, not sure what it ends up being in dollars.
