If most countries with decent legal systems, a prosecutor doesn't need collaboration of the victim to press charges for a serious crime like kidnapping/trafficking.
A public prosecutor should act in the public's best interest, not act based on victim retribution.
Which is a good thing, since it doesn't pay off as easily to threaten or bribe victims or witnesses.
This would definitely have gone to court in my country.

Kate messed up...not feeling her at all. I honestly think she was being controlling with this move. I highly doubt it was for Rana's best interest as she says. Family is a touchy subject and she shouldve known that but kate acts so oblivious to how other people live not everyone has a "Kate Connor" family! Shes gonna lose her by acting like she knows whats best for Rana
nah, i would have done the same thing kate did. i understand rana felt betrayed, but after what happened with rana's parents, as someone who loves her deeply, i would be scared shitless they'd try something else and would have done anything to keep her safe. her life would be more important to me than how she feels about me.
