It's refreshing to hear your thoughts. I agree with all of your concerns and wishes for the future of the game. It feels like no one else in the community wants to hear that there are downfalls.

I’m obsessed with Oswald tbh especially since I grew up playing Epic Mickey so I think it’ll be really cool to see him in DDV and how they incorporate him
The bronze camel and Aladdin ride are iconic from magic kingdom so personally I’m super excited
Aw someone(s) was tasked with lettting our avatars get on rides, after everyone was disappointed that we couldn't. Then they introduced dreamsnaps, and we're exasperated that we can get on rides and take pics (yay!) but the dreamsnap rules make it unworkable.
Basically, my heart goes out to the employees who were tasked with making it possible for our avatars to get on the rides

I don’t get why people are upset about rides when Disney world is literally a theme park. Yes Disney is more than just the theme park but that’s kinda the place where it all comes together right? Folks were mad when they said they were gonna bring back old star path items in the premium shop and now we’re mad that there are more rides in a star path. It sounds like y’all just don’t like that game
I don’t think anyone is upset about the rides themselves. In our opinion we aren’t excited about this star path since we’ve already done a park themed Star path previously. Not liking one aspect about a game or having complaints doesn’t mean I don’t love the game. Games aren’t all or nothing.
The Camel is part of the Magic Carpet Ride. In Disney World... it spits water 😂

I enjoyed your guys' take on this. About the boutique... I'm wondering if DDV will populate our boutiques with the winners of the design challenges. That would be a one way to "share" designs without having to visit. I don't really do valley visits, so I really hope they are planning something like this.

I have seen a lot of people wanting to ride the rides and I am guessing they just threw in taking selfies with it. I am excited about it. I just want to say even though I don't agree with you guys on this I still love you! Hehe I do hope they add sitting on benches and taking photos this update or in the future. I am excited about this update and star path. I have all the other rides as well. I plan to turn my Sunlit Plateau into an amusement park.
I didn’t really care for riding rides. Taking pictures in rides is what made me excited

I am rewatching and I wanted to add that I think it's more likely they had this star path planned for months (its takes time to design and animate items). For the survey we took I don't think they had already made up their minds about adding the star path items to the premium shop, I mean maybe they did but they didn't have to make the items again all they had to do was slap on a moonstone price and add it to the shop. So, I don't think you can compare those two survey questions fairly is what I am trying to say.
It’s literally been a year since the last amusement theme…..I don’t understand being like it’s too soon. 4/3/23 was the Disney parks one
Personally, my worry is that they don’t seem to be branching out much and if they mostly stick to repeats it’s going to be boring after a while.
Just commenting here to say that all your thoughts/opinions were valid, and it's disappointing seeing other people being negative towards you two for just stating how you feel about the game. Anyone that watches any of your content knows you'll always be 100% real and honest. That's why I enjoy watching both of you 💖
Which content creators are bashing them?
The castle is literally from magic kingdom and the ship on the mountain is literally from typhoon lagoon. So yes. It’s literally about the parks along with the franchise
Watched the replay. My takes:
First of all, I have noticed that this community is becoming very, very toxic. You either agree with them. Are you are the enemy. Which is insane to me because it is a game.
I am also not super excited about the star path. I have been playing since hour one. The only amusement park ride I use is the ferris wheel. The other ones have never been placed anywhere in my Valley at any time. Unfortunately, I have a sickness which forces me to be a completionist, so I will do this star path so my catalog will be complete. 😂
With the valley visits, I have no IRL people who play this game. I'm very leery about letting strangers into my games. With Animal Crossing, I always visited stranger Islands but never reciprocated. I hope they implement from kind of safeguards so nobody can mess around like acnh did.
The Boutique: I do not mess with touch of magic. I have tried and tried but it's a nightmare on the switch. Therefore, my ability to have anything in my boutique is nil. Also, that means I will not be able to participate in Daisy's weekly challenges and I will also not be able to get the rewards. For players sharing of their designs, is this only going to be available through Valley visits or through a system like ACNH? There are players who don't have subscription services who are able to participate with Valley visits. Therefore, the boutique is useless to them sharing and receiving touch of magic designs. However, if they institute something like the Label Sisters have in ACNH people would be able to exchange designs.
Overall, I'm pretty excited about everything going on with the The expansion pack update 😊
I think the coloured sand, is "imagination stuff" and you can craft the items you find with the time staff

I use the DreamSnap category alot. Even though it’s buggy I still love it because it’s helpful and I was surprised that most ignore it. Thanks for explaining why that may be so
Usually they do the survey for the upcoming path. So I took those suggested themes like they will most likely come after Tiana

As a brand new player (bought the game during the last Steam sale), I am not buying this star path. I'm just not into the amusement park theme, my valley is going to be more nature themed so I'm kind of sad it's not a more "spring" themed star path. Anyways though, hopefully the next one is better.

the roadmap is ultimately just a roadmap, more aspirational than set in stone with the dates, which is why they're vague in the first place. I think its pretty clear there was some sort of delay for the last update and its causing everything to be a week or two later than they wanted. oh well.

I generally fall into the positive side in a lot of the DDV discussions but I really agreed with a lot of y'alls points that has been brought up in past Valley Talks. Like I really love this game and some things may seem small issues now, but if it's kept being put off it becomes an issue for the longevity of the game and I want this game around for the long haul. I'm not a Fortnite girlie but I can recognize the model that made Fortnite so popular and able to maintain it's audience AND being a mold for other games to replicate the style like Fall Guys and even DDV in a sense.
That's why Stardew Valley for me is a game I always go back to, the base game is a solid foundation with replay-ability, it has a dev that really listens to players and constantly enhances the game and it has a community that adds to the gameplay with mods and customizations.
I hope Gameloft continues to listen and create what is needed while also adhering to their bottom line and business model, it can be done successfully so I want DDV to succeed as well.
Angles. At a certain angle TOM doesn’t get picked up. In some my Moana DreamSnap Stitch has TOM umbrella and towels and a TOM bench at his house not far from Moana’s house on the same beach. Also Minnie’s house has a TOM rug and couch right upstairs from where I took my Dreamers United parts 1 and 2
The star paths are definitely starting to feel like busy work instead of rewarding game play…
Same this is the first update I’m not excited for don’t think I’ll be doing the star path based on what we can see save my moonstones. Only thing i feel the update is worth it chapter 2 of rift in time & that’s only for the players who were happy to spend the money on it
So sad I missed the steam but after watching I honestly feel comforted. I'm feeling quite unsure and unexcited by this update and have a lot of the same thoughts and feeling as you guys. But I've also been too scared to share them in worry that I will get scolded and told that I am just tearing at gameloft.

lowkey, don't take this too seriously, but "Stop playing the game, then" is the same energy as someone criticizing the government of the country they live in and being told "Then move to a different country, then!" Like, what ... We are allowed to have a critique of something while still appreciating it. People who are mad at Kay and Caito for this, ya'll know you're allowed to dislike certain things about media and still like it overall, right? This is why it's so hard for people to allow themselves to like sub-par books/movies/tv shows and instead they defend the quality within an inch of their life instead of just saying "yeah it has issues, but I still love it."
I kinda feel bad for the team who does these trailers because it doesn't seem like they're really in the same loop (or whatever that saying is 😅) as the social media team. Because they're like 'we have one more surprise!!! Release date!!! Wasn’t expecting that now were you?' And quite a few things like that in the Eternity Isle reveal presentation. They just seemed so excited to 'announce' things that we already knew about 😔. It kinda makes the social media team just seem like official-but-still-leakers
This video made me instantly subscribe to both of your channels. As someone who has played DDV since it was first introduced i am also not hyped about this next Starpath. If they continue to not fix all the big issues (empty shops, horrible camera while decorating, not adding foliage and more basics like pathing) then im out. I agreed with everything you both said through the whole video and criticism doesnt equal 'hating' something. Nothing would evolve or get better if there isn't both positive AND negative feedback.
I 100% agree with you both! I love this game so much and that’s why I’m not happy with this current update. It has very thing that I don’t care about it… touch of magic, mutliplayer and more rides. Not excited at all and that really sucks since we’ve been waiting so long. No mention of fixing major bugs either.
hey, at least the star path wasn’t like “gamer” themed! (just trying to think of something i’d dislike more.) i agree it’s an interesting choice to do parks again so soon. i’m not a roller coaster tycoon girl. i don’t want to recreate disney world in my valley. the fab thing is everyone can play how they want and have their own opinions.
i also have to say, i think the unclear language in that tweet was so devious lol. and then repeating the exact same language in the responses so you start to feel crazy for being confused… not my fave marketing strategy. also, saying a first look is coming wednesday but also having a preview literally playing right below it? curious…

Why aren't they at least the same color scheme? The best ride is the ferris wheel, and maybeee the Dumbo ride, cuz dumbo...there isn't enough space for jumbled chaos in all the colors

I think DDLV needs to expand the island or offer saved island so we can save and load island configurations. After all, isn't this all in our dreams? I don't want to tear down my whole valley for a theme park.

Kay said she don’t want to spend her moonstone the star path but on pass star path you both said if we buy the highest price star path we will get it back the moonstone, so is not like we are loosing moonstone.
I think she’s worried she won’t be motivated to finish it so she won’t get her moonstones back

It is spring and a lot of folks go to Disney during break. I love all the rides. These look great in my opinion. The game is created to make money. I have no complaints about these new rides. Y'all have gotten so negative. Do not be surprised if a lot of people do not appreciate your discussion and do not tune in to your streams. Good grief. No wonder people here are saying they are losing their love of the game.

I don’t think they were saying people can’t love the parks IRL. I think they are saying they don’t like how the game executed adding park elements into the game. Being negative about the game isn’t their MO. They were expressing frustrations that have been building in SEVERAL players for quite some time. Both caito and K have been so supportive and positive about the game. But I agree with them. They keep promising things without completely delivering and as a consumer I don’t want to just be positive for the sake of being positive. I’ve been frustrated for months. And I’m not the only one.
Two words: No space.
At the end of the day, not every Star Path is for every person: just like people who didn't celebrate Christmas were not enthusiastic about the Christmas Star Path, people who don't visit the Disney Parks won't get that same excitement out of seeing each of these iconic rides recreated for the game, and I'm sorry that you both fall into this camp this time. That being said, as someone who IS the target audience for a theme-park Star Path, having visited so many of the parks so many times, even I feel my excitement dampened because this theme feels so familiar. I'm excited about the rides individually, but the ~vibes~ are stale after having repeated this theme for Dreamsnaps twice since the last theme park Star Path. I find myself agreeing with @LetzPlayK that they could have been working these rides into other themes over the next year with other themes.

The Starpath was made to match the characters Daisy and Oswald scream Disney so thats the starpath Cottage core or the Magical dragon ones will probably match the other characters probably dragons magical asian inspired for Mulan cottage core Restaurant for Tiana etc
I can kinda see what you’re saying here but at the same time the rides aren’t linked to those two characters at all so idk. I’m curious to see the other stuff in the star path that wasn’t featured and maybe it will all come together cohesively for me!
Did it REALLY not excite you guys or are you just so analytical that its all just staring at every frame and aren’t able to let yourselves express your excitement that much? I know it didn't say reaction in the title but with these types of videos its kind of implied. Maybe you could phrase them as 'analysis/breakdown' of the trailer? I personally don't care for reactions where the people just sit and yes listen but its not really that entertaining to me personally. Of course people should be honest about their opinions heck there’s certain things in the game that I don’t care for either. But again maybe change the phrasing in the future please. And please don’t think I'm just against you guys, I love Let’s Play K (I've never watched a Valley Talk but I think it is a good thing). What do you mean change the phrasing? This is a podcast to discuss our thoughts on all things DDV. The star path isn’t our fave theme but we are excited about other parts of the update
@consolecaito I guess to be fair I like looking up reactions and there haven't been a ton to it and I know (I admittedly haven't watched Let’s Play K enough to know her actual name) Let’s Play K is usually pretty expressive and excited during her playthroughs so when I saw her in the thumbnail I kinda got excited to see her reaction. I now understand it's more of a discussion type but I guess it was just a misunderstanding on my part. I'm sorry 😞. And also don't think it was just because I saw her, I've heard a ton of good things about Valley Talks, I just need to remember the type of discussions you guys do before getting too ahead of myself. I guess I was just desperate for a reaction video.
Usually it's really just to see how excited people are but also...there’s just been so much Oswald hate and I want to see if there's more people actually vocal about their excitement for him. Thank you for admitting he's cute and I do appreciate Oswald the octopus mention ❤. I'm glad you guys are excited about parts of it though 😁.
Just one more comment. You love Fortnite and I absolutely hate running around shooting people....chocolate and vanilla I guess. Rather you did not stream Dreamlight Valley if you do not love it. There are a lot of other streamers who seem to enjoy it. Seeing their excitement is fun and makes me more excited.
It’s kinda clear you either, one, didn’t listen to what we said or two, started commenting before watching the entire stream. We both said that we love the game and are talking about the good and the bad. It is the point of the podcast. There’s literally no point to the podcast if we don’t speak to both sides.
But I do love things about Dreamlight valley and have been overwhelmingly positive about the game and GameLoft until recently. There are several things that they NEED to address and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with me expressing my opinion about those things. Just because the game has areas for improvement doesn’t mean I don’t love the game.
I did make the comment earlier in the podcast before the more positive section. You and everyone else have every right to express your opinions of course.

Basic girls just want this to be another cookie-cutter cottagecore game. It’s a DISNEY game. And if I can finish the starpath with 20+ days left to spare while also working 40 hours a week, then I don’t see how these “professional” youtubers think it’s too grindy. Come on now.. Been following since 2020 for ACNH, but I can’t stand one more whiny ass stream. You played ACNH for years after them legit saying they’re not bringing more content to it at all, but you’ll complain about a game that regularly gives us new things to do and new characters because it’s not specifically tailored to YOU. *sigh* Did you watch the stream all the way through? If you did, you would have heard that we gave multiple different examples of themes the star path could have been, not just "cottage core". One being themed around OG disney characters.... Also, I think the star path is TOO grindy. It was more grindy this time overall, and that was stated by not just me but MANY people. That is MY opinion. If you don't think so then... great lol no big deal. Idk why you are so upset lol. Goodnessssss.
I just…. I work full time too and have no free time. Why can’t it be okay for us to all have different life experiences. Instead of realizing we can all play differently, and trying to understand their perspective, you’re stating they’re wrong because they don’t play how you play? Sorry, does not compute to me. I think the game is extremely grindy and have a love/hate relationship with that part of it. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t see value in you thinking it’s not grindy. Just be kind, for hell’s sake. That’s all.
