I go maybe once every couple years for a big movie release. Its more expensive but my local theater also has better seating and catering delivering food to seating. Its become more of a luxury experience.
The benefit of the theatre is that it demands attention. There's no ducking around on your phone, no distractions of other housework, etc.
Did you take intro to cinema also✌🏼
I dont know if you've been to the theater recently, but there is an endless number of people that stay buried in their phones throughout movies now.
My adhd can’t be stopped by a silly 700 inch screen
That worked when the civilized were in the majority. If you asked the lady in front to put her phone away others would back you, and she would feel the appropriate level of shame for that behavior. Unfortunately the ferals have taken over, try asking that lady now and see what happens. There is no shame anymore, no sense of social cohesion. No one wants that experience for a $50 price tag.
Nothing you said made any sense
Considering the new Bad Boys has already made well over 200 million. Movies aren’t dead, audiences just want good entertainment
Yeah it’s certainly not dead, Inside Out 2 made $155M on its first day. I had to take my gf to an early showing because it was sold out for every other showing. The movie wasn’t for me, but i was still able to enjoy my time there. Having not been to the theater since John Wick Ch.4 it was a nice change from watching movies on my laptop or tv and with tickets only being $6 at my local theater i dont see them going out of business
I wouldn't call Bad Boys good entertainment.
@@diegomedina9637they’re not asking for high brow shit people just want to see a decent movie
@@litorres4125 Again I wouldn't call Bad Boys a decent movie lmao.
@@diegomedina9637 I think the box office speaks for itself
I get Taylor’s gripe with Ryan Reynolds. I feel similarly with the Rock. The dude is always playing the same exact character. You can swap him amongst all his movies and you wouldn’t notice a difference. Except Moana maybe
Its the same for most actors. Once you play a similar role time and time again, it becomes impossible for the audience to view the actor in a different light. Ryan Reynolds at this point it solely deadpool and the rock is basically always the big tough guy who gets beat, unless hes the lead
Yeah shane gillis had a similar joke on his podcast years ago that Ryan Reynolds plays the same sarcastic deadpool character in every movie 😂 its true tho
LMAO at "the usual suspects"😂😂
🙈
Who stands up in the middle of a movie and hoots and hollers while throwing their grape soda at the screen?
I'm not gonna say what race, what people, what movie goers, what theatre.. what movie they went to see.. we know I can't say that. It was black people.
I thought the rules were that have to do that.
Basketball people
A bunch of nominees
I still love the movie theaters, I try to go as much as possible. There is a sad yet baller feeling to go to a theater and have it to yourself. “Nobody is here” used to be more awesome than it is now, it’s just sad.
I go to the Theaters in VR now :)
What a loser
Definitely a virgin
Ever since I found the bigscreen app it has totally changed how I watch movies
@@Respawnz congrats, you've just learned what an ✨anecdote✨ is
Bruh you're retarded @@Respawnz
The only time I go to theaters now is when older movies are playing. My local theater plays older movies all the time. I just saw Alien, The Mummy, Spirited Away, and I'm going to see Return of the King this Friday. The best part is the clowns don't bother seeing older movies because it's not trendy, so It's always super-fans that keep their mouths shut during the movie.
Be for warned my friend, they will be showing the extended edition. Be ready for a 4 hour marathon
Alamo Drafthouse is the only way to see a movie in theaters. I fucking love it
If you're already going to spend like $50 at the theater on a date, why not spend $20 more and have a full dinner + drinks?
Plus, they have and enforce their noise policy
Yeah and they just shutdown all locations so what are you talking about?

what kyle accidentally said was so funny, he was trying to say "i see alot of people being"
but just said "you know, i've seen alot of people peeing-i mean being" lmao
Even going only on the value ticket day where it's $6 a ticket, there just aren't a ton of movies that seem worth going out to see. Maybe 3-5 a year?
Drive-ins are way better, cheaper, own snacks, some weed, and a Femboy for the break between movies.
And a what?
wait what?
Kyle?

You really thought it was that funny
lol I’m watching this clip the morning after seeing LOTR return of the king extended edition in theaters
Often seems like big studios will deliberately make movies less desireable, to push a message.
And most people are just not going to spend that much money to watch a suboptimal movie.
Very prominent was "female Ghost busters", But also the "Rings of power", latest Indiana Jones, Disney's Star Wars etc.. happens a lot.
It's like they don't want the movies to succeed as much as they could.
interesting take. what would be the intention?
@@bodybuildingABC That's exactly what i'm wondering too.
You’re watching shitty PG-13 movies that’s why. Star Wars and LOTR are for neckbeards. They were never good in the first place. They’ve just gotten worse with time
I would still go to movie theaters if it wasnt $18 for a ticket and $20 for a drink and a singular snack.
At mine it's $9 for late night
Yeah the tickets are expensive but bro bring in a burrito and a drink. Just put it in some cargo pants or a baggy sweater. You got this, I believe in you.
@@BigDaddyTony24 dude one time I brought in a family sized bag of the crunchiest chips on the planet pregnant woman style
4k projectors are now cheap enough to have a literal home theater; what used to cost 10s of thousands, one can have a literall 300" home theater with awesome sound for like, 2-4k.
the theatre i grew up near changed their movie titles to punjabi only movies now cus no english speakers would show up.
They gotta go back lol
Maybe the problem is the punjabis
deport them all...
Tried streaming Oppenheimer once, the crappyness of streaming a movie really showed, it took me right out of it didn't even finish the movie.
I'm gonna do you a solid and give you my plug.. Fmovies24 and the domain ends in a dot and then 'to'
New movies on there are usually crappy CAM quality until they leave theatres but if you wait like 2 weeks the HD is uploaded.
I was so pleasantly surprised to see Christopher on here! he's a supper cool dude!!
I work at a movie theater currently we have 1 showing of Furiosa a day and the theater is empty every showing no one has bought a single ticket to it yet and Inside Out 2 has been sold out every showing since it dropped Fall Guy has sold like 20 tickets since it came out
I love going to the movies but all the point you guys made are right honestly people talk about movies stars differently too
Zevia root beer, black cherry, and creme soda are 🔥 and 0 cal stevia sweetened
Movies should just do retro nights playing classic movies. I personally would love to see classic movies like the godfather. Scarface, or OG Star Wars with a movie theater experience
The AMC theater near me does this all the time. Recently I saw the Phantom Menace and LOTR Return of the King
@@bsheaves that’s sweet. I don’t think I remember seeing LOTR but I wouldn’t mind paying to see that in a theater
I cant think of the last time where I went to see a movie and thought to myself "damn that was so good"
Godzilla Minue One hit the spot for me.
@@smileydog5941absolutely i go to a godzilla movie just to watch godzilla cause mayhem but that movie had everything
I still go regularly its enjoyable sometimes the less crowds are more immersive when its a good film
It’s so sad Christopher takes a back seat on this podcast. They absolutely don’t appreciate the unbelievable human they have as a guest.
I didn’t go to theaters except for like once a year, but I got a gf recently and we don’t live together yet so we’ve been watching a lot of movies this year. There are also a lot of good movies this year. I get AMC tickets from Costco, 2 tickets and a $20 gift card for $40. I have a weird work schedule too so I go on weekdays before 2pm and you essentially get a theater that has like 2-5 other couples minding their own business and enjoying the movie. The AMC’s with the reclining couch seats are definitely a plus. I do pack personal protection and a medkit just in case.
Gotta agree with Kyle on this one.
A true theater going experience these days is either 70mm IMax which is absolutely insane in terms of breathtaking clarity and immersion; or going to see an older film being projected on actual film, which is also a totally incredible experience.
Otherwise it’s just a digital projector on a slightly larger screen, along with overpriced tickets, candy, and drinks…ya know?
One of the best movie going experiences I’ve ever had was seeing Evil Dead 2 projected on film followed up by a midnight showing of Eraserhead, which was also a legitimate film reel projection.
There’s a reason people still shoot on film. Only in very recent years has digital even come close to the actual dpi and quality of tangible 35mm film.
And when we’re talking about 70mm IMax? Yeah, forget about it.
Digital can’t even come close.
To put it into perspective, for anyone that cares: even if you spent over 10k on something like a Sony FX9 which shoots in 6k, it’s still nothing close to the quality of medium, or large format film, even today, in 2024.
6k is a lot, 70mm IMax is around 18k.
The only reason digital is even a thing is because it’s cheaper and less of a hassle than shooting on actual 35mm film reels.
Evil Dead 2 on the screen? That’s badass
@@smileydog5941 It was awesome.
Same with Eraserhead.
Easily my favorite theater moment, even beyond the IMax stuff.
I’d highly recommend checking if your city has any art house theaters that still show actual film.
The big features usually happen around October, if my memory serves me.
Best 8 bucks I ever spent 👍🏼
"Home theater is just as good as the cinema". Maybe for you. Not everyone has the space or money for a super high end home theater. Besides, your home screen is measured in inches, the cinema screen is measured in feet. Cinema is the better viewing experience.
It really isn't though.
Meh TVs are gigantic nowadays and not that expensive, you can get one for 1000-2000 bucks, no cinema can beat the feeling of watching a movie in silence , with your favorite snacks and your balls hanging out
the days of getting head in the movies will be over..such a sad day.
no
Living in India, movie over here still are packed. older movies get re-released and they also get packed. but most english movies are empty.
It's because there are too many of you
I go to the movies every weekend 😂
I like theaters that aren’t major chains because they usually have a personality in architecture and design and will often have events showing past classic films I’ve never seen in theaters. Plus major chain theaters charge way too much meanwhile I’m spending $5 on the Tuesday specials this one theater has near me.
Ryan gosling? Oh my god. Spit out my gator aid.
Spit my cereal
Ryan Reynolds’s being a snarky asshole in every movie has gotten old…. anotha Taylor W
Ryan Reynolds’s is the least funny guy ever
Naw seriously though. Deadpool is for little kids or very immature adults. The humor is bottom barrel
I get their margins on the tickets are low and they make most their money from the snacks and I get why they price it so high but that doesn't stop it from pinching like a mfer if you go
Welcome to social isolation where everyone does everything from home. It’s why everyone is so lonely and depressed.. we weren’t meant to be inside all day as humans.
But people also complain at the fact they are lonely and depressed from being at home all day.. but then push for more stuff to be at home. It’s going to get worse I promise you. Lots of things are. None of this is in line with our biology at all.. and technology is only going to keep progressing. Masculinity.. socialization.. it’s all going to keep dwindling.
Small theaters are dying unfortunately
The pegging feminists crap was what I didn’t like about dead pool. I just accepted that as the deal in current year to get anything vaguely deadpool
Deadpool and Wolverine will be their magnum opus... And that will bring the downfall of all comic book movies 😂
i guess these guys have never seen the shining lol
I mean since the pandemic movie theates have been on a decline... But that doesn't mean i'll take Kyle's word for it. I think Wings leaves the house more than Kyle at this point.
Wouldn't mind the end of woody on this podcast
Let’s not forget Micheal jai white in spawn
I'm seeing alpt of youngsters in here saying "oh I went to the theatre last week and saw the latest big budget movie and it was packed!" That's not the point. Theatres used to be packed every day of the weekend including Sunday and during the weekdays was still very busy. Now when you go to the theatre it's usually only a Saturday on release date that the movies packed. Not to mention the horrible amount of people on their phones and talking during the movies now.
Kyle once again spreading misinfo; Fury Road made well over 350 million dollars at the Box Office, not 70 million lol. I get tired of him just saying random bullshit
For me it's the crowds. I just end up getting mad at how badly behaved everyone is, or how people steal seats and you don't know if you're going to get assaulted for politely asking someone to move or be quiet. It's a fucking zoo in there and I just get annoyed and can't enjoy the movie.
I would have gone to see Furiosa if i wasn't so sure there are high odds there would be some assholes in there ruining it. I'd start going again if the staff cracked down on bad behavior. It should be their job to police the experience, not mine to deal with some assholes. If I'm on a plane its not my job to deal with drunk and disorderly passengers, or in a bar, or restaurant, or amusement park, or anywhere else. It's the establishments job to create a good and safe environment.
Cinemas are between a rock and a hard place ATM. The studios want crazy deals to show the films, the cinema companies want to get the highest stock price and the only way they can make money is the candy/confectionary they sell. Hence the price hike on that stuff. Tickets too they need to make their 15% and with less people going it's turning into a novelty rather than the norm it became in the 90s and early 2000s.
It's sad as a cinefile myself I loved going to the movies but unfortunately I am not interested in today's woke garbage. If I even see a hint of it I don't go. Won't watch. They are sacrificing well written stories to cater to everyone and it never works.
If they had weed friendly theaters, people would go again!
Not everyone is into Le Fooni Ganja.
As if it didn't attract enough of the usual suspects already, you wouldn't be able to see the screen with all the smoke
what did taylor say after the "ususal suspects" line?
Black people
Agreed, can’t stand Ryan Reynolds.
AMC 🦍🦍🦍🦍 movies aren’t dead :)
Stupid fucking superhero garbage killed movies. Now everything has to be a billion dollar blockbuster, or Hollywood won't bother making it. There are no more good mid-budget action movies, and comedy is completely dead. Every superhero movie is a combination of action, romantic comedy, little kid shit, and soap opera level "drama", because it *has to* appeal to *EVERY* demographic.
sprite zero chill sucks! tastes the exact same as normal sprite if not worse😂😂😂😂 dont fall for taylors propaganda

Nah they aren't ending, some friends and I went and watched The Watchers this weekend and the place was packed. It's as simple as it's more fun to get a group together and go out for a night than it is to get a group together and sit in at someone's home.
Furiosa ... The problem MAD MAX : FURIOSA oh did we mislead you into thinking max was in this? No No Max but LOOK ITS ANOTHER STRONG FEMALE. Come the fuck on
