If I had the money I would have one like a shot. Bike magazines are saying it is better than a Goldwing, it is the ultimate tourer which raises the bar. No disrespect to a GPZ900 but this bike is in a different league. I own a 1990 Kawasaki GTR1000 which I love, but it is no comparison to this. As for HD well as they say, 95% of them are still on the road....the other 5% made it home. No matter what your views we are all brothers here. Keep riding safe Colin.

@mnbme this is correct but not on your bike. if the servo assistence has a problem than you have almost no brakes. try it downhill with the ignition switch of and get the feel of it. This ABS system has been changed on later models because of the difficaulty of maintenance and and this "feature". sorry for my bad english

@espvintage Yes, they would not work sufficiently if the engine wasn't running first. But if the engine wasn't running before, then why would you need the brakes to stop? Kind of like a car. Did you ever try to drop when the engine stalled and you had no power assist? Very rare. But a small car weights 5x my RT. I've rolled it down my driveway using no power and it stopped fine. Sport riders prefer the non integrated brakes for twisties n track. But if an SUV cuts you off unexpected on the hwy?

@viggoM35 No not at all. You got me wrong. Your bike is using a kind of servo assistens with electric motors. If they fail the bike has almost no brakes. Thats the reason why I dont like them.
Just test road the1600 it fells like a very nimble goldwing with great brakes did not like the clutch to slow the electronic throttle Very very fast way to fast for the clutch loved it please fix it so I can trade in my 07 Goldwing.

@espvintage Your information is incorrect and you don't even know what I ride. Both my beemers have ABS (1997 K1100LT and 2009 F800GS) and both work fine in the event of an ABS failure.

This has to be the best looking BMW ever, all the previous mutants are terrible and have looked like they had been designed by a one eyed guy with a ruler, I just hope they have sorted out there terrible reliabilty history with this bike.

All BMW K1600 have serious issue - They all pull to the left! My one pull so hard that if I barely touch handlebar in split second I am on left lane. ( after hour ride my shoulder is in agony from constant pull handlebar to correct it and BMW don’t seem see the problem like I will not pay £ 24000) And after owning this bike for 3 months from brand new and having already swap engine for new one I can truly said it’s crappy bike. Go do yourself favor and bike Japanese bike

@espvintage BMW ABS brakes do not fail if the ABS system fails. You only lose the ABS. The brakes still work and a caution light flashes on the dash.
It has a very whiny sound but when u ride it u dont hear it u hear a nice roar, and with headlights on it looks beast
