Just had surgery on my back. At 39 years old just getting into Lego I've been recuperating with 11 sets. I just finished the fifth of the books. I got one more to do and it's complete. I wanted to see how many more were there and you gave the best information of everything I've seen out there
It’s a small thing, but I really think that including Parvati (Gryffindor) instead of Padma (Ravenclaw) seems like a missed opportunity to give us Ravenclaw robes in a cheaper set. I’m probably just biased as a Ravenclaw.
In January, I tested positive for COVID-19 and my parents had me quarantine in my room for three days. My sister bought me the Herbology book so that I could keep myself occupied, and I really enjoyed it. It looks like she picked the right one!
That ones the best. Watch miriam margolyes on graham nortons show. Shes a fithy filthy national treasure. Shes the actress that plays the herbology teacher
I would really like LEGO to continue with these books. They're great ways to give small playable sets to kids but also a good way to have Professor minifigures issued. I wis they'd still do at least three more: Care With Magical Quidditch, Flying and Astronomy. I love the jumpers with the badge and I think they're far superior to the regular ones. But they WERE a 20th Anniversary thing, since they are a throwback to the original Harry Potter torsos which had the badges (although the badges were better as they had the animals in them).
After the first four books came out, I had ideas for more, including Divination & DADA. They basically turned out exactly how I wanted (although I would've preferred Lupin and the boggart filled Wardrobe). I also predicted a flying lesson book which we got instead as a set. However I still haven't got the books though. I guess it's because I'm at the age where I'm more into display sets than playing with them. So yeah they're nice but I think they're a bit pricey and for a younger audiences.
tbh, I got them to display, because I didn't want to start collecting all the hogwarts sets haha! But I'd agree for sure. These are what I wanted as well, though I wish we could've gotten lavender brown with Parvati in the divination set!
I just completed this collection, I think these are overall great sets, considering the price and figures you get and the whole design is great as you can store it as a book, but when you open it, you have a background for the classroom scene, so it is great for children to play with for sure. Usually when I rate a set, I try to think, how much fun I could have with these sets as little child, when I was playing with LEGO.
I managed to get completely unopened Charms and Herbology sets in 2023, it cost me a lot of trouble to find though, and I now have all of them in my possession.
I hope they also do classes not in the movies like History of Magic or Muggle Studies (technically we did get the Muggle Studies teacher in DH.1 so Warner Bros could make it happen 🤷)
I don’t have the new ones yet, but completely agree with the ranking of the first four. When I first bought them, I thought the herbology book was going to be my least favourite. But after building them, it became my clear favourite. Potions then a stand-out second. I’m looking forward to completing my collection and getting the two new ones soon.
I suppose this is an unpopular opinion but I think the Transfiguration class is my favorite. I really dislike the awkward and asymmetrical layout of the other half of the Hogwarts Moments books, but I generally like the more symmetrical ones. The Transfiguration class also does the best job imo trying to portray a sense of accurate dimension for the classroom. Lots of the other sets have large sticker backgrounds to portray some form of depth and it all looks really flat and confusing. It ends up looking like wallpaper when its meant to portray background scenery. I also just love a lot of the details of the Transfiguration classroom, like the portraits and all the physical items on its shelves.
I‘ll get both books because I’m a completionist. I’m still quite disappointed that Lego didn‘t make the Lupin DADA classroom. I love they have included the deviation, but I agree that a lavendar purple would be a better choise. I would also hope to see Care of Magical Creatures book. That would be fun. But I don’t think Lego will ever make it though. :(
With DADA they had their pick with teachers. Of course they couldn't have Snape again, and they just released Lockheart. Maybe they picked Moody, because we can expect Lupin and Umbridge in a future set? Here's hoping. I didn't forget Quirrell. I just don't think he is that popular.
I have a question: why did they choose purple for the divination set?? The colours of the first four books seem to be somehow related to the four houses of Hogwarts Gryffindor - Prof. McGonagall - house colours red/gold -> set 76382 - dark orange Ravenclaw - Prof. Flitwick - house colours blue/bronze -> set 76385 - sand blue Hufflepuff - Prof. Sprout - house colours yellow/black -> set 76384 - dark tan Slytherin - Prof. Snape - house colours green/silver -> set 76383 - sand green Defence against dark arts is black. Ok. But purple for divination??
I think I’m gonna swap the pieces where the spine is build on from divination and Dada. Don’t know why divination is the only one with the black pieces

HOLLYONFILM the new Thor Love and Thunder goat boat minifigure of Thor has a hairpiece that would be AWESOME to use on a new narcissa malfoy minifigure. The top part could be black and the bottom part blond. Would love to see that
The one thing I don't like is the weird inconsistency of the designs. Why is the outside cover tampo painted but the inside of the cover needs two stickers?? Why can't they paint BOTH sides? Lego's build techniques sometimes make little sense.
Fascinating how divination and defense against the dark arts have so different designs. I hope that lego also does a compartment like you did in this video before they finish designs, but apparently not XD

My intention is to build a large-ish Harry Potter display centering around the Hogwarts Icons set (once I get it) with all six books either cover facing or spine facing with each student & professor set in front of the book.
ive avoided buying these as yet, ive seen them for about £23 to £28 in the uk, im just not sure theyre sets i need, if they go down to around £20 i might get them. hoping to get the hogwarts trunk set next!

I absolutely hated the divination build. Unlike the other books there wasn’t enough surface area for the accessories. And like others who have left reviews on Amazon and Lego, my book will not close!

Yea same but making these books are super hard because you have to make sure everything fits in place when you close it. You know?

The slytherin one does has a plce for the book, right on xt to the purple blue potion bottle, there is a spot
Since they are called hogwarts moments books they should also do common rooms where you could have 2 students from the house plus the house ghost.

These are the perfect sets for me because I’m not super into harry potter but I like the aesthetic and it helps to collect key characters
On my personal thought Defense could have been better with Lupin and bogart closet on the more empty side.

I was thinking of replacing the gold pieces (on they book covers and spine) with drum-lacquered gold. Do you think it would look better like that?

the defense against the dark arts moody charts is not actually exclusive to that set, it also appeared in the 2019 clock tower.
