Thank you for the idea to cut the bush in half. I have my sub-frame out of my 9-5 right now and am struggling to get the new bushings installed. No more struggling.... I'm going to cut them in half and be done in a few minutes. Thanks again!

Hi Jonas, when you get a chance, can you show on video where you place your axle stands please? I'm always unsure when jacking up my Aero where to place the axle stands so the car will be safe and undamaged. Thanks.
Great video! Just had the subframe bushes torque rod bushes and drive shaft seals replaced on my Aero. At a garage though, they said it was a nightmare 😂 Snapped bolts on the subframe and fighting to fit the subframe bushes! Looking forward to part 2 😃
Ive Been Waiting For a Long time, Thank You for the upload. It looks really new and nice, i was skeptisk about adding the yellow into it BUT it made it look better, great jobe keep it up 👍🏽
Just in the doing of replacing all bushings into power flex on my 9-5 Aero. I was watching everything on TH-cam last week to be prepared, but didn’t se this Video...😏 I had reel troubles with the bolts holding the anti roll bar. 2 snapped and I had to cut the mount loose from the subframe to get to it😬. So why not change them when you have it all out? Great videos, Jonas🤟🏼
Jonas! The best video ever for Saab 9-5 essentials. Thank you so much that you share and we Saab owners can keep own cars on the road. Tack så mycket! Cool stuff!
Jäklar så slut bussningarna var.. Blir sån otrolig skillnad utseendemässigt med lite fräsch färg. Mycket roligare att skruva tillbaka grejerna när det är snyggt och prydligt. Mvh Jimmy
Hey Jonas long time watcher of your channel , quick Question does the 2000 saab 93 se manual have these subframe bushings I had the car up yesterday but it doesn't look like it has subframe bushings I would think it would be the same as the 95
Great work Jonas! Regarding the torque rod bushing I have been strongly recommended against using powerflex. I was told it will be noicy and transmit to much vibration. I have no personal experience so I am very intrested in the facts and glad we will get that soon! More distinct shifting sounds very interesting!!! Keep the good work up. Your videos are great.
Thanks Hans! I have experience from several 9-5s, makes it alot better and no transmitting of vibrations. The ng 9-3 on The other hand is NOT suited for PF bushings. Shakes like a rattlesnake 😉
Thanks for your excellent videos! We are replacing the clutch on my son's 2001 9-5 Aero and replacing all kinds of other parts while we are at it. Question: What brand of subframe polyurethane bushings do you recommend?
@@JonasKakarikas So we tried... we bought the proparts bushings. Cut them in half like you did. And... whereas you just pushed yours in, ours do not fit at all. They don't just slide in like yours did. We tried to press the halves in with a clamp, but that also does not work. The cut gets caught on that little ridge and as soon as we release the clamp we tried to push in with, bang, in just pops right back up. While the Proparts number is for all years, from the SAAB side there seems to have been some change in bushings from 2001 to 2002, for example. I measured the outer diameter of the bushing and of the inner diam~eter of the hole they are to go in. There is like a 4mm difference (~38mm v. ~34mm). Is there supposed to be that much difference? Any ideas of what might be going on here?
Yes, there is a outer ring that is still left in the whole that you need to remove. Its an aluminum ring that you remove by sawing a cut into it, like with a tigersaw 👍
I'm currently trying to do the same thing but I just can't reach the three screws that attach the engine to the subframe. It seems like the official workshop manual is giving of wrong advice. Do you have any tipps?
Dear Jonas, I'm not sure if you are aware of this. On automatic cars at least, the torque rod is flimsy like that even when brand new. I just installed one. I prefer it that way because the shifts are smoother.

Thanks Jan, i only change The really bad ones at this point... If you are going to do everything possible "when you have everything apart" it gets quite expensive. And this video was uploaded last night so no Wonder you missed it 😉 hope you get all The bushings installed so you could enjoy your Saab again 👍
I was hesitant to replace the bushings on my 9-5. But never occurred to me to cut them it made it so much easier. Thanks for the video

Tack Jimmy, håller helt med 👍
I pressed in my powerflex bushing into the subframe like the manufacture recommend. It was a total nightmare. And took alot of time.
@Clams McGee Yes. I did mine on a bench with the subframe out. And sandblasted and new painted. Not fun.

Great attention to detail 😎👌

Powerflex is better, but proparts (blue bushings) are way cheaper. I always use proparts without problem

You need to undo the top Nut first on The rear mount, then drop the subframe a little bit to get access to the others
@@JonasKakarikas ah thanks a lot! Also for the quick response! I will try that today

Cant compare automatic and manual, they act in 2 different ways. And if you are going to the track you want The parts to stay in its place 👍

Vad använder du för att rengöra subframe samt vilken färg använde du dig av? Svart hammarlack?
Slipade med vinkelslip, svart hammarlack funkar bra 👍
as always, MASTERY in the making ! Great job JK !
At 13:59 and after what the name of the bushing? I'm doing control arms and tie rods ends. Just curious thanks?
Subframe bushings 👌
@@JonasKakarikas Of course. Thank you
Hade varit coolt 👍😉
Very useful, tahnks. How long time to teke of the subrame? I only have one car so I need to be able to drive it every day...
First time doing it i would say maybe 3-4 hours removing it. Book a weekend to do it.
Hey. Great job. Where did you buy bushings? What are the part numbers? Can I get the link?))
