The first game I ever played from this series was Prince of Persia sands of time and it always holds a special place for me. I really wish this game would’ve got the same treatment assassin’s Creed did.
You know, I always thought it was cool that the PoP team made the first AC game. But I never connected in my head that AC would have started as an actual PoP game. This was a great video, dude. I couldn't ever predict what we're getting next from you and that's really exciting!
I've never seen the tech demo I got most of my game info from magazines back in the day. I would have loved to have seen it though at the time. I remember the waves Assassin's Creed made in gaming though, it was huge and the games were in all the magazines and best of compilations for the year.
An impeccably crafted video! It's evident that an immense amount of effort went into creating this masterpiece. Kudos on a job exceptionally well done!
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the time mechanic for that era was amazing nexg gen at the time. I never fell in love with assassins creed unlike Prince of Persia one of my favorite series on the playstation 2 :(
Please keep up the videos. You do an amazing job and the production value is there. I learn something new in every video. I’m sure you’ll break through.
Prince of Persia has long been one of favorite game series, and as much as I love early AC games, I can never quite forget the role they played on burying PoP. And while I’m fanboying away, I will NEVER understand the criticism that you can’t die in Prince of Persia 2008. It is no different than restarting from a checkpoint. If you miss a jump in Uncharted, you respawn right before that same jump. The only difference is PoP ‘08 gave a narrative explanation for it. Phew. Had to get that off my chest.
I'm definitely on your side on POP 2008. I really like how quickly it lets you give it another go and it's not far off from what Sands of Time was doing with the rewind. I hadn't played it before doing research and saw how critical people were and actually playing it I was surprised how inoffensive it was
Zachary totally agree with you that the no dieing was no big deal to me! You know what doesn't make since to me is people complaining that the newer AC games are 'too big.' The games are amazing and they are giving us more to do, how can people complain about that! And then Ubi makes Mirage which is very short and people now are complaining it was was too short. I mean there really is no pleasing some people
Excellent mini documentary again, Mr Stat! You have a real knack for delivering information that is both educational, and in a cadence that sounds impactful. I'm in two minds with PoP. I loved the trilogy, and would love to see more. But I'm also glad it's avoided stagnation that so many IPs suffer from these days.
Definitely agree. If we got PoPs every year like we got Assassin's Creed, I don't think we'd look back on the Sands of Time trilogy as fondly. Here's hoping Lost Crown convinces Ubisoft that players want more of the Prince (but not too much more)
I see it as a historical series with sci fi elements.. At its core however it will still be Prince of Persia’s spinoff.. But that’s actually a good thing!
They’re so private it’s hard to find stuff they chose not to make (except the Apocalypse Road in the Van Buren video. Though I have been kicking around a Project V13 video which would get into their legal dispute with Interplay
tbh this footage from pop redemption looks good and sick i really want it to try it out even for the last time to see our prince. I really miss the sands of time saga i really love that story our prince and despite some mixining in time good story what have reason by earlier parts to play their role like we change past in warrior withing but these have conqueces in two thrones
I meant to send you my half price books haul the other day, but after I gave you notes I saw a copy of the 2008 revamp of PoP and bought it. Will I ever play it? Maybe? I cave to peer pressure to easily.
@@LuckStat Leave my alley out of this! What goes up my alley is none of your concern! In the same day, I almost bought Sands of time a second time, because I forgot I already had a copy (that I still haven't played)
AC was a downgrade from POP imo. In POP there was a challenge to the parkouring and fighting and they removed that in AC. They also removed a bunch of key moves from the POP combat and platforming, such as horizontal wall running, swinging all the way around poles, rolling during combat, jumping over enemies and transitioning vertical wall running to jumping over enemies. Total shame, AC didn't live up to what it could have been.
3k views? I thought there'd be more! I seriously have 6.9k views on a shitpost on my channel and you got 3k views for content that you actually TRIED to make? Impossible!
Admittedly, this one was a bit of a misfire. Trying to figure out what will do well is the eternal curse of TH-cam. It's been going fairly well, though and a year ago I would've sold a kidney for 3k views, so I'm not too cut up

You could say he only makes videos on topics he’s stoked about.
I'm trying to keep you all on your toes
6:31 small mistake there. It's "nothing is true" and not "everything is true"
Well dang. I got it right in the title card at least!

Thank you so much!
Everytime there is puzzle dungeon in AC I am instantly transported back to the good old Prince of Persia days

Great video, I didn't know there was a link between Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed, but it makes total sense

A Slovenian wrote that book. Which I am too. Which is cool!

@@LuckStat It's a fine line to tread isn't it? Maybe one day Ubi will adopt a "less is more approach". I won't hold my breath though.
banger video as per usual
banger comment as well
Just got on here but I gotta say but I'm already a fan of the channel.
Welcome aboard!
I see it as a historical series with sci fi elements.. At its core however it will still be Prince of Persia’s spinoff.. But that’s actually a good thing!
Hey great video pal, love smaller documentary pieces like this in a TH-cam where 6 hour rambles reign supreme.
First rule of Luck Stat is that videos are as long as they need to be
i hope the team working on the SoT remake take notes from RE4 and dead space
Dope video bro
Real life assassins were persians as well
We need a prince of persia series
6:34 I think you got that backwards there. Not the text, but what you said.
Yup, looks like it, good catch! This is what I get for doing my VO in one go with no breaks
Oh and if you make any videos on Bethesda you be a real hero!

It's not bad! Certainly not the best POP has to offer, but I think it's right up your alley
@@LuckStat Leave my alley out of this! What goes up my alley is none of your concern!

Woow amazing
Would be nice a video about the true The Two Thrones, the Kindred Blades. What a wasted potential was!
I had no idea about this, I'll look into it!
Assasins Creed 1 has weird combat

Total shame, AC didn't live up to what it could have been.
Can't believe horizontal wall running still hasn't made a comeback in AC
the reason Asassins Creed exists is because of the misunderstanding of "nothing is true, everything is permitted."
The world have been better off with prince of persia assassins
Assasins are actually from iran and theyr name is Hashashins
