It’s so cool to hear the lineage of African Guitar...you can listen to Ali Farka Toure and then listen to Holmes and it’s all right there...all of the beauty of the art form is right there, despite the fact that the two are separated by the ocean...

There is some evidence that in the mid-60s Ali Farka Toure got hold of a few cassettes of american blues players; not sure if he was influenced by that, but its ALL GOOD!

Very clever comment. See f. e. the cooperations between Ry Cooder and Corey Harris and Ali Farka Toure. Delta Blues and Hill Country Blues have direkt connections to the music from West Africa.
