This is a wonderful video. We just took our Himalayan cats to a public garden for the first time but they were very anxious. They preferred staying around a bench. Was your cat also scared at the beginning?
My cat wasn't scared at the beginning but I do know of some cats that are fearful of the outdoors. My neighbour tells me his cat is terrified of the outdoors but when nobody was looking I saw his cat hanging outside with another cat! I think most cats would enjoy being outdoors even if anxious at first. Keep on trying and offer treats as positive reinforcement and you may find that your cats overcome their fear. You could also try taking them somewhere closer to where you live e.g. in your backyard if you live in a house or the front of your home if you live on a quiet street.
@@leypek8948 Aris, my cat is very scared when we go in wide places with many people during the day. Cats loves to explore places in peace, that’s why you should try very early in the morning or late night the night in a place without people and dogs. You could choose a park after the usual hour when people walk their dogs. Yesterday night I was the fist time very scared to loose him because I let him in our small garden and he didn’t turn back as usually. I found him in the neighbors garden with their cat. The true is that cats love to be free and follow other cats, especially in the night when they feel empowered.
I had 14 cats, when I was kid, and when I was in Ethiopia. They went to the tree at our fence compund and garden. They set on the top of the house to enjoy the sun. They used to play in a garden and they went to neighbour house and have friends,; we do not took them , they use their whiskers like GPS, they even goes some where for whole day and come back peacefully. They are not afraid things because they adopt the environment and they control the situation. We used to feed them raw meat and they are healthier and they ate certain kind of grass for medicine. I observed them eat certain grass from the garden. Nature by it self make them very strong. I gave them abundant love. I played with them, pet them I gave her my weekend ,specially Saturday. I enjoyed feed them, cuddle. And I understand which part of touch they like, and cats have amazing intuition. I spent my main time with cats than friends. But when i went to school. They are by them self, even if the family feed them. They use the garden like litter box. They digg it far ,and ut does nit smell. They wellcome me when i arrived home. They live long life with health. After I came America, I had cats till Last year, I lost him because of my breakup ,since my man brought them for me when they were three month old. But I saw them like human, since the life style here and the system. They afraid outside world because I guess we treat here cats like babies human, we make them to afraid and they do not use all their abilities. I notice how we control thier sexual life. And i observe also a lot of cats died so young and have heart and kidney failuir, the cats food need to be checked by FDA. I am glad this people took their cat for park, their cat jump on three and claims ,that is how I remember cats from Africa / Ethiopia. They love to jump on trees. This video took me to child to teenage time memory. Its good to take pets out and show them the world. They created to enjoy every nature. I believe pyschologichally we make cats weak. I saw my Americans cats afraid almost everything. I treated them like babies and I gave then too much affection but I did not give them a chance to be who they are. / sorry about my grammer
It sounds like your cats in Ethiopia had the best life :) I think you bring up some good points about domesticated animals not living according to their true nature. For example I look at how dogs and cats are desexed not only to prevent them from breeding but also to make them more mellow so they are less problematic when living with humans. There would be outrage if desexing was done to humans for the same reasons. I try to give Leo as much freedom as possible, be aware of his wants and needs and try to establish ways we can communicate with each other for example he knows several words such as "walkies", "dinner time", "brush", "ball" etc and we have also picked up on his various ques. I think this gives him a more dignified and enjoyable life :)

People should walk their cats just as they would their dogs. Especially indoor cats who otherwise wouldn’t be e exercise and fresh air. Beautiful kitty btw. 😻💖
Just don't expect a cat to walk like a dog. Very few do. Mostly you have to follow around behind them while they sniff each bush extensively. If you get too bored bring some music to listen to. If your cat is an indoor cat you will enrich its life so much. It will love it once it gets used to it.
Its my cats birthday today they turned 2 years old, Mango&Luna. I am thinking to take my 2 indoor cats to a beautiful park with lots of scenery and activities going on.waterfall, lake, ducks. People , bikes etc today. They both have harness with leashes but I also got them a playpen, can't wait for the experience, I know they'll love it. Indoor cats need this for sure more than dogs. Thank you for this lovely video 🐾 🙏
Absolutely. Outdoor cats are too destructive and indoor cats seems always bored at some point. just be careful with dog owners as a lot of them are irresponsible though.
When he went up the tree! 🤣🤣🤣 We're getting our ragdoll Lenny in a couple of weeks. Planning to take him to the park too...hope he's not a climber! Haha
Beautiful cat! I would like to provide outdoor entertainment for my 2 new ragdoll x kittens when they are age appropriate. They are 9 weeks old today. I'd like to ask when you felt your cat was at the "right" age to begin halter and leash training? Thanks in advance.
Hey Yope, I started training Leo shortly after getting him as a kitten. I would suggest as soon as your kittens feel comfortable with you and their surroundings, you can start training :)

I tried taking my cat for a walk a few times. He absolutely refused. He turned into a puddle on the floor with a confused look on his face. It was not his jam. 😄

Most of the time dogs aren't really a problem. My cat doesn't have much interest in dogs so he tends to avoid them. Most of the time dogs will be on a lead and if not, dog owners will see the cat and secure their dog. If I see a big dog off lead then we will start walking in the opposite direction. Sometimes a curious dog will walk by and the dog and cat will politely sniff each other and keep on moving. If the dog seems too excited then I'll pick my cat up off the ground but that's quite rare.
