Balut is one of those foods that the look to taste ratio is complete and polar opposite. It's definitely mind over matter. I always recommend to not look at it and just eat it because honestly, it tastes just like a boiled egg. Concentrated in the "eggy' taste but not in a bad way. It's ok Doohee for not wanting to eat it again. You did it. The mental part of this is the most difficult part. At least it's not cazu marsu or hakarl or surstromming. Just Google it. All countries and cultures have those "controversial" foods but the history behind it tells you about it's people and it's part of history and culture

I had it for the first time in Cambodia but it's actually ain't that bad if you get past the idea that there's a little hairy duckling in there! When we moved to the Philippines the local friends I made had me try it several times lol but as an adult, I think I'll just stick to penoy! But it does go well with beer though 😅 kudos to everyone for being brave and open minded! This was fun to watch!

Try it with vinegar mixed with bit of salt, sugar, pepper and chili.. you'll gonna love it❤❤❤ Fun fact: there's a saying here in the Philippines that it increases men's stamina and endurance..for heavy workout.

This is why balut always sell at night back then....for first timer don't inform them they gonna eat balut and how it looks like...and blindfolded or no light...then you get an authentic reaction...not all eat eggs...so understandable...❤❤❤more content pls🎉

I've been wanting to eat Balut🐣 for a long time and I did it! It was a very good experience, thank you so much Sylvia :) I really wanted to try Soup No.5 but I couldn't find a restaurant where have it😭 I'll definitely try it next time when I go to the Philippines again!
