Thank you for sharing Greg, I used to watch this over and over and over again with my sons. Five times five was never enough for them and now I miss seeing it. Watching this brought back wonderful memories.
I live across the street from the Laureldale Cemetery next to the Temple Station although they dont run much anymore. I miss the steam trains I love the sound of live steam. We hear the regular trains on the main line every day but there is somthing about live steam there is no sound like it that can be duplicated along with the power and the magic of the old locomotives.
This Is Great Watching The Blue mountain & Reading Story Part's I & II Featuring Blue mountain & Reading 4-6-2 Pacific #425 & Blue mountain Reading T-1 #2102 With This Story It Is Really Cool To See The Two Steam Train Locomotive's Which Are Pulling Passenger Cars 😊😊😊 🚂🚂🚂
I thought Leslie did a very find job. I remember the boss wanting me to send a copy of the tape to his cousin, who was serving over in Iraq during the first Gulf War, and let the troops enjoy it. And that Public Relations Director wasn't half bad either.
Was Chris Bost with the company since the beginning in Sept. 1983? But 425 didn't run until 1986? 1985 was mostly diesel power except for the mainline 2102 trips in Sept. 1985? Chris must have been from Allentown area because he is a 1981 Parkland High School graduate, I graduated 1992. I live just west of Allentown. Last time steam went through our area was the Emmaus trips in early 90's with 2102 and 425. Last public mainline trips with steam through Allentown were in 1988 with 2102 and 765.
I miss the BM&R at it's original location but they have much more track now to run different trips. I wish 2102 would run again and run a public excursion from Port Clinton to Mt. Carmel or Hazelton up the mountain through Haucks. That would be awesome.
Les Jarrett's Blue Mountain & Reading Story was very educational and entertaining. However, there wasn't enough "interest" in the tape to make it to DVD.
Nice video, My Father started on th Reading in 1949 as a break man, then firemann, dad retired as an engineer in 1981, I grew up with the Reading RR.
Hey Greg, that's you!!!

A sadder scene is Hamburg, the poor fireless cooker. A coach was recently demolished down there.

Oh hey some of this was on lots and lots of trains!

I believe she was wearing a Pennsy 3 chime.
That whistle needs to be put back on 425!
However I think it was a CB&Q 3 Chime.

+Rob Krasinski Actually, the RBMN is restoring Reading #2102 right now and is expected to run sometime in 2017.
@@MackeyBigBoy4014 lol now its 2021 and she is so close
What happened to the line between Hamburg and Temple now?
@@brianfalzon6739 It's still there, and still used for freight operations. The line dead ends in Hamburg.
2102 is back in service
oh is train 425
Wish 425 can visit the Strasburg Railroad and double-head with 90
Greg, just curious, how long has Charlie Kachel been gone now?
You said Les Jarrett isn't selling this program anymore. Did he say why?
Les Jarrett's Blue Mountain & Reading Story was very educational and entertaining. However, there wasn't enough "interest" in the tape to make it to DVD.
Kevin Cleary I did and didn't get any interest in it.
Gregory D. Pawelski
How come?
Kevin Cleary Don't know why. Perhaps it is more educational than entertaining and today's video watchers seem to like lots of action. Just my guess.
Kevin Cleary it could be copyright reasons. But that's my opinion.
It's actually from marathon of steam (part 2)
Thank you so much, I grew up with the VHS but I forgot what it was called. Took me years to find this video on TH-cam.
what was the documetary called?
Is Eric green
Marathon of Steam volume 2
What kind of whistle was that on 425?
Let me guess CB&Q 3 Chime
@@brianfalzon6739 i think its the cnj 3 chime from 113
@@kd3293 You maybe right!
@@brianfalzon6739think it’s a PRR 3 chime but I’m not 100 percent. It is very similar
