  • In 2022 the Brompton P Line along with the advance rack / roller frame were launched
The advance rack is just a bit smaller than the "traditional / standard" rack used on the Brompton C line
The Brompton Rack sack has been around a long time - but it is just a bit too large for the new rack
We made a video on the old rack ... the link is below:
    • Brompton Rack Sack
So now we have a new version - slightly smaller and grey in colour
This video runs through the features

I'm glad I have the original.
    1). Bigger.
    2). Blacker.
    3). More reflective.
4). Now that I'm used to fitting them quickly and tightly, I like the simpler securing strap(s) of the previous bag.
I would prefer it to have had a rear light loop, but I'm okay because my Cateye rear light clips to the underside of the saddle.
I think the mystery edge loops may be an attempt to make the zips easier to pull, by giving you something to pull "against."

My 2013 (I think) rack bag has the rear light loop. It would be an easy job for a shoe repair place to sew on a light loop.

If you want a bag that allows easy folding them mounted try a bikepacking style saddle bag. They aren't as big but you can easily fold the Brompton without having to take it off and if you rotate the saddle by 180 degrees so the bag is over the top of the frame it doesn't take up any additional space when carrying on a train or bus.

The old 16l RackSack was 40cm long, just long enough to take a Leki micro vario hikjng pole for that steep hill hike that you’ve cycled to. Anything shorter won’t fit! I’ve just read that Vincita have brought out a bigger version of their clip on rack bag - 20l plus 5l in the side pockets. Sounds a better option.

  • @colinhoward2200
    @colinhoward2200 ปีที่แล้ว +2

They still have not solved the problem of what should you do if you say go abroad with your Brompton but also may want to spend some time just walking when you have limited options / space.
I just took my Brompton from the UK to India on a plane. The only option me was a rucksack which worked well for both cycling and walking. If only they could come up with a rucksack design that can also fit on the front block or rear rack. I am not sure why they have not come up with this yet. Until then - I am sticking with a normal rucksack for at most 1/3 of the price of these over-hyped and over-priced bags that are of no use to travellers. Perhaps I am not in Brompton’s typical demographic.

I bought the older black bag when I finally bought my green Brompton (still thinking like an "other kind of bike" rider) but the Velcro rear strap seems to work loose after a few miles. • @tim2015

@@brilliantbikes Yes; used on two rides of a few miles, both in dry weather. One possible solution might be to drill a 3mm or 4mm hole through the strap at a point next to the buckle when it is pulled tight and thread an old shoe lace through it and the buckle to tie and prevent slippage.
