      Hi, Sheryl! Keeper Tax is an approved e-filer with the IRS and all 50 states, so definitely safe to use!
      We don't currently give out refund advances. But typically, you'll get your refund from the IRS within 21 days of filing. Hope that helps!

    Im a videographer, can i write off my camera and can i write off the editing software or just the laptop i use?

    • @KeeperTax
      @KeeperTax  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! As long as you use your camera and editing software exclusively for work, you can write it off. If you use that equipment on your personal time too, you can still write off the business-use percentage. (Use your camera for work 80% of the time, and you can take an 80% write-off!)

    there was emphasis on gig workers and free lancers, what about artist or do artist fall under different category/tax bracket ?
    photographers to be a bit more specific not for commercial photography or models but more as in the realm of artistic/experimental photography
    to be printed and sold as a wall art . If im making sense?
    maybe it does fall under free lance

    I don’t pay rent since I live with my parents, so that means I can’t claim the home office deductions correct?
    Also, I’m a photographer and have to travel a lot for my shoots (usually within an hour of distance) would buying food for myself quality as a business meal or maybe a travel expense deduction??

      Hey George! Technically, you can still claim the home office deduction. Whether that'll be worth it or not depends on the other home expenses you paid for (utilities, office furniture, etc.). You'll be able to deduct the business-use percentage of those.
      Unfortunately, meals eaten alone generally aren't deductible! If you're meeting with a client, however, it would be.

    Does your taxes become lower if you got a stimulus check?

    • @KeeperTax
      @KeeperTax  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Sheryl! The stimulus check wouldn't affect your tax bill either way. The good news is, you won't get taxed on it, so it won't make your taxes higher!

    As a uber driver i saw where to enter my gross income but where do i enter platform fees for uber for write-offs

    • @KeeperTax
      @KeeperTax  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Jnorri! You can enter them on your Schedule C. Either Box 10, for "Commissions and fees," or Box 27a, for "Other expenses," would work!
      If you'd like more guidance on filling out Schedule C, here's an article with examples and step-by-step instructions: www.keepertax.com/posts/schedule-c

    Don’t you need a receipt and a bank statement to write something off? How would this stand up against an audit? I’m currently being audited and trying to make sure I’m never getting into this mess again haha 😭

    • @KeeperTax
      @KeeperTax  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! In the event of an audit, the IRS is actually required to accept electronic forms of proof, which include not only bank statements but also credit card statements. The Keeper Tax app essentially helps you collate all of that information, so you know exactly where to find it if you do get audited. (A subscription also comes with audit support, so you'd get one-on-one help from a tax professional.)
      So sorry you're dealing with the stress of an audit now!

    As a Nigerian living in Nigeria can I get or have a USA tax number or document

    • @KeeperTax
      @KeeperTax  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! If you have US-based income, you can get an ITIN that'll allow you to file US taxes even though you're a Nigerian citizen living in Nigeria. Here's a video where you can learn more: th-cam.com/video/l1RquGmpJFE/w-d-xo.html
