good god, thanks for making so much of this way less inscrutable really pleased to see the that Assign Settler screen with all the stats shown and cross referenced to the departments that care about them, as well as automating the giant "clean each of 40 possible rooms I really don't care what order"
The first time I played through HQ, I hated it. But only because I didn't understand how it worked. The next couple playthroughs, I didn't mind the grind! I actually love watching the metres move and all the changes happen as the scripts run in the background. That all being said... #automation in HQ is HUGE! I think these few changes will make Chapter 2 much more enjoyable for those people playing for the first time... and adds more replayability potential. The ability to assign settlers to a department at the time of recruitment (with a Vito-scan!) is brilliant! As always, thanks for all the fantastic work Kinggath and team :)
Just subscribed , i recently started playing fallout 4 and learning the mod stuff , i'm 56 years old and learning new things can be a bit daunting, and i added sim settlements and also sim settlements 2 , have to say this is genius , great video bud, also Bethesda needs to put you on the payroll, keep doing what you do and i'll keep rating and using your mods, Thank you !!

Nice one, Kinggath. Again, immensly impressed by the entire mod, not complaining. Would love to make a few quality of life project suggestions, please. Could you make a list of which rooms are already built in the HQ, and where it is (main floor, basement, office level, hangar)? Then on the respective level could you make an overall layout map where each room is located? This would make searching for specific rooms a huge lot easier. If an important room somehow gets cancelled or deleted, make it reappear in a specific list. Important rooms would be department head offices and living quarters, reactor room, water supply, minimum required storage, showers, bathrooms (pretty much in that order; I can't hear Theresa nagging at me that there aren't enough showers available). If the HQ is already filled with less important rooms such as storage, living quarters, etc, and a new department head comes in due to quests, or certain rooms are necessary to fulfill requirements from quests, please, please, please, show all rooms that allow the required rooms for department head office and living quarters in a list, so that we don't have to check through all rooms on all levels manually to see where these rooms could be built. So if this could be linked to a "room to be built search list" where you can select the types of rooms you want or need to build, then you get a list of rooms (occupied or not) that are available in the HQ to be able to build these rooms, that would be really amazing. If any of this could be implemented, I'd probably bow down to kiss your feet.
The map already exists. As you clean rooms and assign them purposes, the room's have their names changed. You can view the map in Command Mode, the option is called View Layout. It's under the first menu option to the left of Facilities (I think it's just called HQ). The 2nd thing is something we've not come up with a technical solution for yet, but its on our wishlist as well!

Hey, I just got back into the game on Xbox and decided on doing another modded play through. I had the original sim settlement’s previously and was really excited to see version 2! I’ve been having an absolute blast, the immersion is incredible and it feels so natural, the way that it fits right into the games world feels extremely supplemental to the original game! ❤
Oh neat. I didn't realize the automated HQ is such a new feature. I just started with the HQ yesterday and I am seriously blown away by this mod. It's like 2 whole expansions to the game. My only issue is that I don't know how to work the HQ radio.
Will play on Xbox Series X but waiting for official F4 update. I guess it'll come out with the new Amazon show? Frustrating that there is no news about what is going on.
I lost the Western Patrol task in my playthrough. Didn't bother me to much but was weird. I noticed sometimes I get the tasks in inventory as bobbleheads and I must have gotten the patrol task at some point and just tossed it without noticing. #automation
#automation HQ has been incredible even in its early days. I coincidentally was planning a concept of my own that was very similar in the idea of cleaning up locations and building in them. Then not long after, Chapter 2 comes out with the HQ! I wasn't mad, I was ecstatic! It was exactly what I wanted! Then I started planning a concept I called "Faction Warfare" where you'd clear out and assign locations to factions, which would give you benefits based on the location, and the faction you assigned. Then what does your team do? Chapter 3 and claiming territory.. I was close to thinking you could read my mind! Admittedly my concept went further and did HQ style cleaning and building, with different themes based on the faction, but regardless, SS2 remains the best mod I have ever experienced! Thank you for all your hard work! I always love new patches! P.S. Are we able to build the Stingray and Training areas in the hanger now? I didn't see it in the patch notes. And not sure if the power armour upgrades "Room not found" bug was fixed for that northwest corner. Oh and the foyer. That doesn't seem to have a building option. Even if it was a dining hall, or basic common area would be nice to decorate it and all! As always, keep up the good work!
Still cant get how to HQ even to start and it soft locks me as if i skip the quest via the holo tape it will never build the actual HQ rooms needed to progress, and i will not have the tools to actually build them after without actually playing the quest

what do the x/x/x numbers mean under each of the departments. Im guessing the second number is how much of the energy are in use while the last number how many total you have. No idea what the first number is but my logistics dep is in red and Im guessing that's bad lol

Ive been running A Story Wealth, [only since version 204] updating to 207 as we speak. Im going to assume its going to affect my simset2 bundle of mods/patches? And has anyone else already updated their Simset 2 as well as running ASW?
Loved the Sim Settlements 2 mod so far. I'm on Series X, and everything has been great until this part. Once I recruited the 15 settlers to come work at the HQ, all the rooms that are getting built/upgraded crash my game when I try to enter the HQ. I can be anywhere outside of the HQ just fine. It's only when I try to enter the HQ that my frames drop and eventually crashes after about 5-10 minutes of trying to load in. I have older saves before I take over the HQ and have reverted back multiple times, and it happens every time whether or not I do Automated build or I manually do everything, once a certain amount of rooms get built into the HQ the problems start. I've even tried ti spread out the time in between when I recruit the settlers and the same thing still happens once the HQ gets built up a certain amount.
Now all I need to do is fill HQ with robots for the full #automation experience. Really need to get that quote from the discussion with the VO for Theresa in the game, talking about how the Chief has recruited *another* robot lol

I have over 1000 building materials, facilities energy or scrap logistics, etc but now it only reads as 999 and I can not build anything that requires more than 999 of scrap logistics or facilities energy, etc because I supposedly do not have enough when in actuality I do.
The workshop framework mod is not working on xbox since the new update came out. It says it cant be installed since it depends on files that aren't present
Patiently waiting for the NEXT GEN version of the game I jumped into SS2 on Xbox. Keeping only the essential QOL mods for survival play (and no, there's not much to play with in the 50MB after SS2). This mod is now a default part of my survival playthroughs. I hope the NG version cuts the file space limit a little slack, so I can re-add some of the fluff I've abandoned (for now).
KingAth, if you had the time to do a video explaining the mechanics of chapter 2 and chapter 3, meaning the new additions (like pollution, diseases etc) would be extremely helpful!!! Much obliged and thankful for what you have done for us!!! Utmost respect!!!
#automation loved your mods but I tried downloading your Rise of the Commonwealth for SS2 mod and for some reason, it won't let me load into a new game or any game, and the audio is greyed out, but keep up the good work.
That means you hit the script data limit. The game has an invisible limit of how much script data it can load at once. On PC, people get around this with the mod Baka ScrapHeap, unfortunately Xbox has no such thing. It's possible to load RotC without Baka Scrap Heap, but you'd have to find other high script data mods to remove. City Plans unfortunately require a lot of script data to store.
I really hope the seeding feature will be released soon. I am currently stalling for my last fo4 run for a few years, because I want to do a completely fresh run with seeding and then play the whole game with the mod
Haven't played sim settlements in a bit tbh. But also definitely hoping to see the seeded feature as well. I don't care as much about developing settlements. I miss having plenty of places to visit that were already built. Fallout 4 imo heavily lacks in pre established settlements.

Permanently removed until you add it to the task list again. We had experimented with some sorting options, but because of the way we store the information, its super inefficient and ended up causing buggy behavior in the code.
Regarding the new quest, you said that "a courier will find you the next time you fast travel" - does that mean that the quest does not work in survival mode if you have already destroyed the Institute? Edit to add: Also, with all due respect, I really hate the new task list - by using god mode/setting all resources to 999 you made it so much harder to see what resources are actually missing. I am very tempted to just turn it off so I don't have to go to the special desk to very slowly go through the list of assigned task to find out what resources are missing.
Some folks involved with London have confirmed it mostly works! Obviously our story makes no sense there, but the actual plot and city plan mechanics we'll patch if necessary to make sure they can work in any settlements they have.
WARNING! ⚠️ If you wanna download this, remember that when you get to the how to HQ mission, the HQ area is SO MANY BUGS! for example, after view stage and build, you cannot save or leave... Hey, @kinggath! Will you and your team develop army or uniform system more? I think the work is not complete. For example, some folks want to use non-vanilla outfits for soldiers, and i want too. I even made armor mod for this:) But without side scripts its unable to use in the game with ss2c3:(

Will never happen because Sony put in a lot of restrictions against modding. Number one being no new models and scripts. It really sucks but Sony don't like people.
Thank god its automated, hq its not for me. Its too complex for a wonky system like fo4 that could get bugged at any moment. Overly pretentious scripted events lead to way too much bugs, chapter 3 is impossible to continue

What is MCM? Also, my screen at the beginning doesn't show mods. It is just a regular load screen. At least the SS2 seems to work.

The same happened to me, except it wasnt HQ. I believe it was Tenpines Bluff that causing me problems. I finally gave up.

Probably not London is an entirely new world space, I don’t think you can go back to the commonwealth in that mod.

I'd love to see replies from all the hard-core players. My current (semi-abandoned) playthrough is at 361 hours. It seems I made some bad plot choices early in the game, so the ending is not what I wanted. Time to start another playthrough!
Hey, @kinggath! Will you and your team develop army or uniform system more? I think the work is not complete.
For example, some folks want to use non-vanilla outfits for soldiers, and i want too. I even made armor mod for this:) But without side scripts its unable to use in the game with ss2c3:(
Yeah there's definitely something funky with the uniform system - it's on my list to dig into.

@@QazaqPatriotskufoturk We'll be working on it for years still. We're constantly trying to improve based on user reports, and we have a certain amount of features and story content we're aiming for that is quite large.

Will never happen because Sony put in a lot of restrictions against modding. Number one being no new models and scripts. It really sucks but Sony don't like people.

Thank god its automated, hq its not for me. Its too complex for a wonky system like fo4 that could get bugged at any moment. Overly pretentious scripted events lead to way too much bugs, chapter 3 is impossible to continue
