The best of the American abstract expressionists. With the exception of Spanish abstract painters, the French painter Soulage, as well as Sean Scully, Robert Motherwell, and a few others, there were not many abstract artists who “held a brush” up to Franz Kline. Your presentation of his work is one of the best I have viewed. There were paintings I had not seen before.
The stunning color black did not exist for me until Kline. Full appreciation of the rich energy embedded in Chinese calligraphy did not arrive for me until Kline. Thank you so much for this wonderful compilation on Kline.

Sadly, 10 days ago Soulages passed away at the venerable age of 102 years. It is a great loss to the art world! RIP, maestro! ❤️😥😓😭
