Having come from an abusive family, it makes me feel some kinda way to hear someone talk so well about their mom. I’m glad there are warm mothers out there that genuinely do good by their kids.

Long before TH-cam, Oprah did a show called "Being As Cute As You Can Be". When I saw it I immediately thought about my mother. She got up every single morning and "fixed" herself up. Hair, makeup, outfits....she was so cute. I learned so much from my mother and I just hope I do her justice LOL...I think your mother does the very same thing - every day she's as cute as she can be! I've been so sad because I thought your palettes (especially the "needs") had gone away. I've not been in a Target in over a year. I probably had 5 or more in my stash at one time - I loved it so much that I gave them away as gifts to friends who liked my makeup!!!! I know. I teared up too. My mom was so much like her mom. Always had her hair and makeup done. My mom had the best style of anyone. She is so missed in my life. She was always nurturing and every time we talked in person or on the phone the last thing she would say is I love you precious. I miss that!!!!

I feel for both of you. Its been since 2012 for me but I don't think you ever really get over losing your mom. No matter how old we are we are still our mothers child. 💘 to you both.

I can’t tell you how sweet it is that, every morning your mom is using your pallet. That’s parent pride right there.
My mom has never worn makeup or cared about her hair a day in her life but she reminds me so much of your mom. My parents are 65 and still doing full time foster care of young children, they have 5 under 10 years old right now. But if my kids call their Nanny she is right there, picking them up, dropping snacks and gift cards off. As a single mom with 5 kids I don't know what I'd do without Nanny and Papaw there to pick up the slack. She's currently stuffing 500 eggs for the annual backyard Easter egg hunt that is just mine and her kids. 500 eggs y'all

Awww Emily, when you were talking about your Mama in the beginning I could see your eyes shining and hear in your voice how much you love her.
I'm so incredibly lucky to have one of those special Mamas too. We lived cross country for 30 + years, but she finally moved back last fall. We've missed out on so much time together! I'm working on trying to focus on the situation now. She lives 5 min away. So I'm praying to let go of my devastation (not trying to be dramatic, just couldn't think of a word that describes my feelings better) about all the lost years. Especially with my kids. That was hard not having her close during that period in particular.
Anyway, I was trying to say "Aren't we blessed to have such wonderful women to love and shape us! ❤

Sounds like mom is goals. My grandma is the same, has to do hair and makeup every day. One time I came to visit my grandma with a 4 month old and asked me why I didn’t have my makeup on. I told her I was tired and she said “no you need to make time and put on your makeup” 🤣👏👏

I love the Brow Power too! I’m a natural redhead with cool undertoned fair skin, who is going white not gray on the hair and it’s really hard to find an eyebrow pencil that works without being too dark. I also use the Elf Wow Brow in Taupe for both..

This was a sweet, special video for many reasons, but mostly because the words you used to describe your mom are pretty much the same ones I’d use to describe my late mother-in-law, who passed suddenly in October 2019. We had to hold her service later in the day so all the teachers she worked with could attend, and the youth program at her church named an annex after her in honor of her good works. But she was so much prouder of being a mom and a Gigi, and we all miss her greeting her babies or calling “Michael!” after my father-in-law in her slight southern drawl. She didn’t wear makeup, but thank you for making me smile thinking of her and learning about your beautiful mama as well. ❤️
CoverGirl has a Easy Breezy Brow powder in soft blonde that I bet she would love one of the colors of the two different choices you get. One is a little reddish or warmer but the other color is the one have used up. The perfect color for light hair. 720 Soft Blonde.

Video idea- using all your beauty favorites in your Amazon store. I'm looking at all these products you have in their and realized most of them I've never used because of various reasons (heard they weren't good, something else caught my eye) but I trust your opinion so I'm adding a few to my cart right but I would love to see you use them all in one video. Knowing your mom is all for that neutrogena rapid retinol line was icing on the cake of this video because I bought a few of those products about 10 years ago when I was finally dipping into skincare in my 20's but never stayed with them but I'm buying them next time they are on sale. Also I used that Covergirl liquid lipstick before TH-cam was a thing and loved them and then moved onto other brands so to hear they are still amazing is great and once again like a broken record.... I'm buying one. I loved this video so much. Lastly, have you noticed the Age Rewind formula change? I stopped using it just before they added a bunch of new shades a couple years ago and then I picked up the Brightener and concealer (fair) last summer and noticed it was so dry and sit on top of my skin in a way it didn't before which is weird because last time I used it I had dry skin but I've completely rehabbed my skin to a perfect "normal" plus I don't have lines around my eyes at all so it's not me and then Hailey O (formerly JustBuyTheMakeup) bought some around the same time and right away in the video she mentioned something was off about the products and did follow up confirming they didn't perform like they used to so all that to say I think they changed the formula when they expanded the shades and totally ruined my go to concealer. Thankfully Jen Phelps got me on to the Joah Truly Yours dark circle concealer (sold on their own website and at CVS) which is legit the best one I've ever used (drugstore, high end included) because it blends right away into the skin without looking like it's there at all. I blend it in with a brush, sponge, my fingers and it's perfect in all those ways. I'm a new subscriber so if you've talked about any of this I apologize, I'm still playing catch up bingeing your channel.
P.s. I didn't realize I lived so close to you the last few years and truly surprised I never bumped into you at Ulta or Target. I don't want to say where I was exactly because I don't want to dox you in anyway so I'm not even going to mention my favorite local food spots so I'll just say please eat some Culver's for me (national chain so we're safe), I miss the crinkle fries with cheese sauce, any of their chocolate based frozen custard, and their own brand of Root Beer that no one else can match especially when you add their vanilla frozen custard to it for a float. Also if you could have a bottle of Ski original that would be great, the glass bottle is the best way to drink it and when I have migraines I would always drink a bottle of it when I took my migraine meds because the caffeine is so high in them and I don't drink caffeine unless it's for breaking my migraines so the Ski was way more effective then Mt Dew which is my backup drink for migraines.💜💜
(Regarding the no lines- I'm not a smiley person due to insecurity about my teeth my entire life even after I had braces from 21-24 and got a full mouth of crowns done a couple years ago so when I do smile my upper lip is goes into a straight line and just my cheeks pop out all big so I don't even have smile lines and my eyes don't move when I smile so that's why I don't have lines, it's not a cosmetic procedure/treatments situation. I am jealous of those with smile lines and lines around their eyes because it means they've had lots laughter in their lives and have the best stories to tell. The lines are a token of a life well lived.)

Your mother is gorgeous!!! Her complexion is smooth, bright and fresh. She has an old Hollywood era look about her. A classic beauty!!! I absolutely love the way she brushes her hair back and gives it that lift. It is a lovely soft effortless look. It would be wonderful if she did some hair tutorials!!! Loved hearing you talk about your mama. I lost mine a year ago March 5 and miss her terribly. Like your mom, mine was always put together with hair, makeup, and outfits. When I was 13 or so, and started getting interested in makeup, she took me to the Clinique counter in Dillards and had them teach me how to apply makeup, (I remember her blending a lot of my friend's foundation when they would come over. lol!) and about the importance of skincare. I am now 53 and those lessons have been carried throughout my life. Thanks for sharing this. :)

This series is SO heartwarming! It is a beautiful way to stay connected to people we love and admire, especially in these social distancing times. Beauty routines can be such a personal, custom, intimate thing.
I encourage everyone to ask their loved ones whose looks they admire what they use. My grandmas passed away years ago, but I remember by dad's mom being very experimental with products. When I see the Maybelline foundation stick and Jane Iredale, I think of her. On the other hand, when I wear Maybelline Lipstick in Tea Rose, I think of my mom's mom, who was voted most beautiful in high school. My best friend in college was a colorful eyeliner fiend, owning everyone made by Nyx. I think of her when I do a sparkly electric blue or olive green liner. As a very young child, I remember my mom keeping her makeup in a gallon size ziplock bag, with tubes of Bobbi Brown lip gloss (gifted from her older sister) floating around.
When I wear these things, it makes me feel like they're around me! This series makes me think of all of those beautiful people and warm memories.
