I don't know how they've been there in the States but on release day here in the UK it was purgetory to get a pair, made the worse by me missing the shock drop days earlier. I managed to get a pair before BSTN website crashed at around 8:10 Saturday morning whilst losing out on SNKRS, locked out of Offspring, waiting in the queue forever in Footlocker to eventually get to it and small sizes were left and so on. When I got the orde conformation from BSTN I was happy, but they haven't got to England yet so I'm on edge until they are in my hand. Just the military blue to get when they are released, then I have to stop.

These and the Metallic Burgundy 85 J1s are my ABSOLUTE MUST cops for the year. With all due respect to the OG version, this all leather build is just too clean 🤤🔥I'm also a sucker for real leather, real materials. Never had the originals. So this is a reimagining gimmick done right. And the all suede/nubuck royal 1s. Those are cleaner than people want to admit.

Im from NYC, grew up in the 90s and we went by colorways/nicknames. Chicagos for White/Red/Black colorway, UNCs, Royals, Breds, etc. The ones that stood out as a bit different were the Red/White/Black 8s, which we called “The Bugs Bunnys”. Then the whole thing with AF1 lows being called “Uptowns”. Mids too, but it was mostly associated to lows. Some people also called them the NYCs, cause some pairs in the 90s and 2000s had the NYC embroidery on them.
As a og sneaker head in my mid fifties I had the original bred 4 back in the late 80's and they looked great but killed my feet so I passed on all the 4's over the years. Wasn't much of a nubuck fan so these new bred 4's are looking great so maybe I'll give em a try. Great video and review guys!👍

My 2019 Breds has started yellowing on the soles. Highly regret passing on the SBs, so I cannot wait for these, including the Military Blues. I don't mind the leather on these, OG 4s are usually a must have for me.
These are sneaker of the year for me so I’m definitely going to try getting them. They’ll probably be somewhat difficult to get with more hype building on them, but we’ll see.

I don’t buy Js like I used to anymore but this one is a must cop for me. I grew up in the 80s-90s and this shoe just reminded me so much of my childhood memories. Used to have 4 pairs back in the good old days when it was only $110-$125 for a pair of Js. Now it’s just overpriced. But if you like it then get it. YOLO!

The Reimagined 3's I copped had those little divets on the front edge of the toe box too. I think it may be a production line issue that wasn't caught or fixed in QC.

Funny if they did another one of my black and red favorites like the Infared 6s I all leather I wouldn’t like em but I love these . I just love the cut and they don’t crease on the toe box . Maybe it’s how I walk but I get a little bend in the netting under the laces and barely notice it . I don’t know if I se these as OGs like I did the White Cement 3 or the Chicago Lost and Founds but I love ‘em regardless!

Quick heads up these shoes are a different shape to the OG breds 2019 and the fire red 2020. Its a closer silhouette to the pine green sb dunk a bit more chunkier but the fit is the same as the other two forementioned shoes with a slim toe box so order a half size up.
The original color wise is more vibrant and just looks darker so in my opinion looks better. But since I don’t own a pair I’ll go for these, I do like them but they not slapping like the original!
From Illinois. I THINK our sandwich is a “Horseshoe” - basically bread with fries and gravy or cheese on top But that’s more of a south Illinois thing North Illinois would be a Italian beef or a Chicago style hot dog if that counts
I think these are going to be really expensive Jordan 4's in general with classic colorways run in the $400 and up range now when you start talking about Jordan 4's with a classic colorway and leather those typically run for $700 or more I'm going to try to cop as soon as possible

Being born in 80’s I relate to all the stuff Chris brings up about the OG’s and nicknames. These were always called the Black Cement here in Michigan. And thank you and mentioning how weird the puffy tongue is on these. I completely get it in the Pine Green SB’s but wish they wouldn’t went with the 2019 tongue. I prefer the 2019 pair but definitely love these as well. Definitely a dope idea, but I have really liked all the reimagined pairs. I thought the Royals were dope and really liked the White Cements and the Patent pair as well. Wouldn’t mind if they brought back some OG’s but just made the shape and materials better. Like the black cement 3.
Like yours and a few other commenters, my pair arrived with the divots. Based on the placement of them in the box , appears to be hang tag as the culprit.
I'm sure we'll get it at some point but jb loves to milk the super popular pairs by giving us the shoe with slight differences. Think lost and found 1s, free throw line 3s, reimagined 3s, satin bred 1s etc
I knew I was going to get these, but I wanted to wait to see your review as I’ve done that with all my Jordans. Safe to say I’m always feeling great after your vids!
The nubuck was the only thing I saw as a "con" with the black cement 4s. One of my fave pairs of all time. I just didn't like that they weren't as durable as the black cement 3s which were leather and built like tanks. So you could beat on them. The nubuck doesn't age as well as normal leather does. But now they made them leather so you can wear them year round without worrying about them aging badly. I have 2 pairs of the OG black cement 4s. Will probably buy one of these to be a winter beater pair.
This shoe was the most difficult product I've ever tried to buy. Took Ls on shock drop, 3 accounts submitted @10am on the 17th, didn't get them, immediately went to physical stores, and 9 physical stores and 7 hours later I got my pair secured. But damn. Hard to get at retail was an understatement.
The midsoles are reminiscent of the AJ3 fire reds. They're waaay softer than the usual 4s that we've got in the past release and has more comfort. Congrats to those who were able to cop and to those who didn't, there's always another retro release for you 😉
Maybe only for select sneakerheads. The Military Blue 4n the Black Toe high 1 will be the most extremely hyped and widely sought after. Most people don’t find mostly black shoes that interesting

Shape, toe box and look I’ll go with the 2024’s. The 2019’s toe box looks boxy and chunky and that’s why I will sell my 2019’s when I get the Reimagined’s
These are sick! Its like the OG flight 89 leather had a baby with a Bred Jordan 4. I have both of the latter and this is great to see done. I also got the Gum lasers just because they were black leather. I will for sure be looking to get some of these.

The only problem i have with the 4 is the bottom of the tongue where it's attached to the shoe. Very uncomfortable!

Like yours and a few other commenters, my pair arrived with the divots. Based on the placement of them in the box , appears to be hang tag as the culprit.

Is the fit normal on these? I had to sell my fire red 4’s 2020 because they ran so small. Are these the same?
The last few pairs in 4s have been much thicker padding inside, I’ve had to go half a size up 🤦🏽♂️ in the last 5 pairs I purchased

I wish we just got the OG shape but with the same durabuck material. I'm sure the leather will be fine but I just prefer the OG material.
I'm sure we'll get it at some point but jb loves to milk the super popular pairs by giving us the shoe with slight differences. Think lost and found 1s, free throw line 3s, reimagined 3s, satin bred 1s etc
I really wouldn’t mind them releasing the nubuck Black cement 3’s from the vault either.
That right there I would had to pass on lol. Cuz I would rather prefer the leather.

To the puffy tongue call out, both re-retros of the lightnings, and cool greys have puffy tongues as well. I dig the extra padding with the new IVs.
The nubuck was the only thing I saw as a "con" with the black cement 4s. One of my fave pairs of all time. I just didn't like that they weren't as durable as the black cement 3s which were leather and built like tanks. So you could beat on them. The nubuck doesn't age as well as normal leather does.
But now they made them leather so you can wear them year round without worrying about them aging badly.
I have 2 pairs of the OG black cement 4s. Will probably buy one of these to be a winter beater pair.
Right. I'm not paying top money for nubuck. I will for leather tho

This shoe was the most difficult product I've ever tried to buy. Took Ls on shock drop, 3 accounts submitted @10am on the 17th, didn't get them, immediately went to physical stores, and 9 physical stores and 7 hours later I got my pair secured. But damn. Hard to get at retail was an understatement.
I want these so bad but they're so expensive 😓

The midsoles are reminiscent of the AJ3 fire reds. They're waaay softer than the usual 4s that we've got in the past release and has more comfort. Congrats to those who were able to cop and to those who didn't, there's always another retro release for you 😉
This is probably the most hyped sneaker of the year, hopefully they made enough to go around
Maybe only for select sneakerheads. The Military Blue 4n the Black Toe high 1 will be the most extremely hyped and widely sought after. Most people don’t find mostly black shoes that interesting

Shape, toe box and look I’ll go with the 2024’s. The 2019’s toe box looks boxy and chunky and that’s why I will sell my 2019’s when I get the Reimagined’s

These are sick! Its like the OG flight 89 leather had a baby with a Bred Jordan 4. I have both of the latter and this is great to see done. I also got the Gum lasers just because they were black leather. I will for sure be looking to get some of these.
Ready for the L on this 😢. You just know Nike is gonna limit the number of pairs on this, and the haters who said they're not gonna get these because of the change in materials will still go for them on release day.

Wore my 2012 pair so much when I got the 2019 pair I didn’t care for them…looking forward to these very much though!!!
