Haha yeah I tried to do that on the video, no joy on that occasion. One of my favourite football games growing up, until I discovered Sensible Soccer 😇🕹⚽️👌
If memory serves, this was a repurposed Ice Hockey game from the USA. Once you get used to it, its a surprisingly fun little game which I played quite a bit. Again, memory may be playing tricks but i think it had a guaranteed Score Glitch where if you Bike Kicked in a specific place you always scored.
Yes to the Ice hockey and yes to the glitch haha. I used to use that glitch against my brother and it would usually end up in me being hedlocked and shouting for my Mum to have him unhinge me! haha great memories 😇🕹️👌
one of my favourite football games ever, i used to love the goals that you can score and how the ball was shot at the goal (yes you can go for near post etc.. I have very fond memories of it
Played this for hours on end with my brother. Didn't realise you could choose the top tier teams until much after we bought it, haha. Great game. Massive nostalgic memories 😇🕹👌
Thankyou. It's never too late to try these retro titles. I remember when Fifa first came out on the Mega Drive, before they even put the years after the title 😁 now I'm feeling ancient hehe 😇🕹👌 thanks for watching the video, much appreciated. Stay tuned for more retro classics
This was my go to footie game and funny thing me and my mate also played as default teams for ages and then one late night we figured it how to change teams and then it was a completely superior footie game to anything we had played before.
That's the exact same problem me & my brother had. We didn't realise you could change teams 🤣 but what a good game it was when you could run faster. Always be my first love in respect of football games... ⚽️ 🙌 😇🕹👌
Nice one, haven't seen this game running before. Looks like they had a football game ready then obtained a licence before release or Gremlin had the licence and bought a game from a publisher to go with it. My footy of choice on C64 was the awesome Emlyn Hughes for side on or Microprose Soccer for top down. In my opinion the best footy games on the system. I do have a soft spot for footballer of the year though. An interesting concept at the time which has been in spirit revisited by the mobile apps such as Goal Hero or Score or something like that.
Emlyn Hughes was fantastic. I always loved Match Day II as well. Hopefully I can revisit all of the football games, over time - fantastic to pick these games back up after all these years 😇🕹👌⚽️⚽️
great game, the football game I have played the most in my life. The managerial part was very nice with the possibility of trading players or even better to create young players that you could improve with practice year after year. If I remember well, at the age of 24 players were at their best in terms of speed and skills.
This soccer game for the Commodore 64 looks cool 😺👍🕹️. But still i'm the biggest fan of INTERNATIONAL SOCCER (1983) 😹👍. Also, i remember having one of the Gary Lineker games for my Commodore 64. I believe, it was GARY LINEKER'S SUPERSKILLS. It was in a compilation with another game, ROY OF THE ROVERS - which... was... AAAARRGHH 😹!!!
Hard to say which is the best in the top 3 (vs Int'l & Pro soccer) but all round certainly the winner. And there is no hurry to worry about nostalgic nerves, it is only the fifth decade of the '80s
I owned this game on C64 tape and I loved this game but I could only ever play one match and after it finished there was no way to continue or get back to any main menu to continue so I just had to reset and play again. Am I the only one to have that bug?
That must have sucked... for some reason it just wasn't doing to the routine to go back to main menu for you. Took quite a while to load as I remember rightly too! That brown screen would appear with the music playing first... hehe - frustrating times, but then again we were all much more patient in the 80s 😇🕹️👌
Actually thats not a bad rule, keeper holds the ball too long its a corner. Didnt play this one my favourite was mictoprose, tried to get into Emlyn hughes but not a fan - a bit too slow, prefer international soccer.
All of those games you mentioned are on the channel too but I've got a few more to get through at the time of this reply like Match Day II and Kick Off 2 etc... some great football games for the C64 😇🕹👌⚽️
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer yeah seen them and good quality vids as per usual. I regard 3 as good - international soccer, microprose and although I cant get into it i conceed emlyn hughes is the most realistic of all. I think the soccer management games were better than actual playing soccer games with some very enjoyable soccer management (emlyn hughes, italia 90 and Liverpool slightly crossed over to being both).

Bicycle kick was the amazing part of the game. There was a point near goalkeeper and you could always goal with a bicycle kick from that area 😂
Haha yeah I tried to do that on the video, no joy on that occasion. One of my favourite football games growing up, until I discovered Sensible Soccer 😇🕹⚽️👌
Looks great! Cannot remember playing that one back in the days but i loved playing Commodore Soccer by Andrew Spencer.
Same here! That's covered on the channel too - great game 😇🕹👌

Holford! That made me remember this one. Recall this game but not so strongly as other C64 footy games.
Remember Peter Beardsley's Soccer too...
Haha yeah! What ever happened to 'Holford'? Super game though, good nostalgia playing this one 😇🕹️👌

Great video! Commodore was before my time, first football game for me was FIFA 02, great to see the older titles. Keep up the good work!

Sensible Soccer best foottie game, unlike the crisp salesman's game! 😉
Have to completely agree with you there mate. A proper legendary footie game is Sensi, still love it to this day ⚽️🕹👌
Swansea v holford ffs. I remember 😂😂😂
Great memories bro, this game is still legendary. The footage was taken from me vs Josh.. we due a game sometime 😁🕹👌
Hard to say which is the best in the top 3 (vs Int'l & Pro soccer) but all round certainly the winner. And there is no hurry to worry about nostalgic nerves, it is only the fifth decade of the '80s
There were some great football titles from the 8-bit era wasn't there, love these games ⚽️🕹👌
If bicycle kicks drive you nuts, don't look up Sepak Takraw (a.k.a. volleyball with feet)
🤣😁 I've just looked at that now, it looks insane! But fun!! 🤣🕹👌

the bloke is a dud, just like his game
He was a good striker back in the 80s - but I suppose he had little presence on the game other than the name endorsement 😇🕹👌
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer could play no doubt. just not my cup of tea as a bloke, not that my opinion is anything.
