I love how this shows all of their development so so well. Like in this they clearly weren't on great terms, Malia's attitude wasn't great towards people. Gradually it got better and they save each other, becoming good friends... I love the representation so much

really love the transition of their relationship as well as their characters. They each grew to help one another and be strong for one another. To save each other. I agree with you that the show could have easily placed them as enemy's but no they grew a liking toward each other and became somewhat of anchor because of the other. Lydia came out of her comatose state to save Malia.
