- In this S/S2020 collection, the silhouettes are long and floating. The air between the body and the garment is part of the design and the flare bottom of the long jacket swings splendidly as the model walks by.
Many of the tailored jackets have pleated or ruffled slits in the back. The lightness of the clothing was also one characteristic in this collection. The back-lining has been simplified into a T-shaped lining, partially covering the back of the jacket and the functional inner pockets have been taken out.
Styling-wise, Yohji counter balances these elegant pieces with short pants and bold boots. The short pants are proposed in countless variations. Zipped, padded, strapped, patched with linen, and in all different lengths and shapes.
The artistic embellishment and the intriguing words by way of prints have become an established statement in Yohji Yamamoto’s recent collections.
