    The music is unnecessary .You showed the same film clips 3 times in the first 5 minutes.

    I just learned my Grand Father served on a half track, I found this video very informative, and consider it a tribute to all who served with these unique vehicles. Thank you for your research, and some nice music selections. well done. thank you.

    Very much like your series. On this collection of American halftracks, I suggest the soundtrack have the sound turned down a bit and perhaps replaced with Glenn Miller playing "American Patrol"?

    Great video! My Dad told me his Dad had a old half track with all the armor cut off and a fifth wheel with a big bed winch. Used it for years logging.

    The first batch made used Cadillac V8's that were already assembled to go into cars. Those looked real snappy with polished aluminum intake manifolds and other stylish details. Those halftracks remained stateside for training purposes.

    From what I've read, the French had quite a few halftracks during the war, maybe a video about French halftracks some time?

    Loved the video, but, the music over top was not only anoying, it was completely out of place for the subject matter.
    Otherwise, keep up the good work.
    Minus the music.....please.

    • @tiborpurzsas5465
      @tiborpurzsas5465 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@steffenrosmus9177 40 liters on 100 klicks does not even sound that bad considering the armor and everything! Think about the American gas guzzlers of the seventies those big ass Cadillacs with 6 or 7 liter engines they were using nearly as mutch , yet they produced less then 200 horsepower.

    • @edwardglamuzina3421
      @edwardglamuzina3421 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tibor Purzsas, My halftrack gets about 3 to 4 miles per gallon on hardpack dirt roads. That's 1.27 to 1.70 kilometers per litre. It weighs almost 15,000 lbs. thanks to the armor.

    No studebakers, or did the russians get them all?

    • @edwardglamuzina3421
      @edwardglamuzina3421 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tim, Studebaker did not make halftracks. Their specialty was the 2 1/2 ton 6x6 truck,most of which ended up in Russia.They also made engines for the B17 among other things.Americas halftracks were made by DiamondT, Autocar,White and International. The first three were identical machines . International halftracks had different engines,body and armor. Some Internationals went to Great Britain and France but the majority ended up in Russia as part of the Lend Lease Act.

    • @bobjohnston9154
      @bobjohnston9154 ปีที่แล้ว

      There were never any Studebaker halftracks.

    • @USAACbrat
      @USAACbrat ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did Studebaker make engine parts for halftracks, i am thinking fuel pumps, when it was common to see surplus tracks and ducks were down for fuel pumps and Studebaker made a substitute and everybody was looking for one. When I was small, there was a track at the corner gas station. From time to time I would meet people engaged in restoration of both.
