This is called Kawaii Metal, a sub-genre created in Japan back in 2010 by Babymetal's producer. It's main concept is mixing pop/idol vocals with metal/heavy instrumental music. But you can also add some more genres like Babymetal did in their song "iine" by adding a synth melody and a rap part. Poppy is just wernernizing this sub-genre and you can be sure of that by reading in her bio "Poppy said she was inspired by genres like J-pop, K-pop(...)". She calls it "post-rock" to prevent her from being accused of copying Babymetal. There are alot of kawaii metal groups in japan who call their genre in different ways to prevent it as well, like Ladybaby who calls it "kawaiicore" or the group PassCode who calls it "trancecore". - But the main concept they use are the same: Idol/pop vocals with metal/heavy instrumental - Kawaii Metal.
