You’re right, I just lie to total strangers on the internet. I didn’t live on the south side of Sav from 1974-1999 and visit my parents there until they passed away a few years ago. All the while watching the neighborhood I grew up in turn in to a crime ridden, run down mostly section 8 rental project. If you come to Sav on 516, you have to pass projects, from downtown, projects…The one route to Savannah that you don’t drive through the projects is 204/Abercorn but the Windsor Forest area isn’t what is used to be either….if you don’t see it, you’re either blind or YOU’RE lying. It’s sad that such a beautiful city has gone down hill. So far down hill that my entire family has moved out of Savannah…its all yours my friend!
Exactly it's a mindset problem. If they just cleaned up, no one would think this is a poor area. But sometimes I think this is just how they want to live.
is not poverty?? Are you sure ?? I think that you said a great bullshit!! Try to be there, without job, without assistence....when you have this situation in your country mean that is not a civil country.
Its disgusting. Yet mf’s are proud of their hood. I wish that instead of glorifying trash, violence, hyper sexuality, and ignorance, that a new trend will occur where people wanna live a happy life and take care of where they come from and love one another.
They do this in my neighborhood (the blatt community) and its disgusting. The blatt families just dump their trash IN THE STREETS for the trash people, cant even go to the dumpster or trashcans. They were all taught to be slobs by their victim pushing parents and now they can't seem to pick up after themselves.
Where is the garbage collection service? Why didn't they go and pick up that waste? We bet we both know the answer?? Or do you write bullshit just to pass the time??
Whenever I see these videos and I know these are horrible [laces to live, poverty, crime etc. But one question I have is why doesn't somebody pick up the trash. That seems like something doable. I would not survive one hours in a neighborhood like this. Just seeing all the trash and I guess hearing the rats at night having a field day would scare the crap out of me even before the violence. I feel so sorry for the children who live here. It must be like living in a third world country, but right here in America!
American lower class is very slovenly compared to other countries, I’ve noticed. Look at clean cities in America and you’ll realize they have janitors constantly doing 5-6 rotations a day just to clean up after a small portion of the population.
@@Tarooo89 In my neighborhood in the burbs if some0ne threw a paper cup on the ground it would be like a felony was just done. Not saying humans won't do stupid stuff. One day I was out for a run late at night, and as I reached this hill by a rural area there was a discarded pizza box on the ground. I told my self tomorrow when I run by this same place that pizza box will be gone. Yep I went out for a run the very next day and the box was gone. Another reason is that in more affluent neighborhoods there is a high rate of home ownership, 80-90% vs. rentals. In these poor neighborhoods a lot of rentals and people are just not invested. Also in my neighborhood, people spend a lot of money it seems like each spring on up keep of their homes, investing even more money in their properties. When ones property is valued at between 750,000 and 1 1/2 million I guess people just give a darn. It's an investment and nobody wants to see there property devalued because of litter.
The same reason why your children don’t clean their room when they live with you. However, whenever they move out on their own and get their own space, all of a sudden, they’re clean freaks. In other words, people tend to take better care of the property that they own. Edit.. I initially commented before I actually watched the video. Now that I’ve seen it, I understand what’s happening. I, for example live in a gated luxury apartment and townhouse community. Around our dumpsters on the weekends, trash is everywhere. We don’t have enough space. But on Monday, the trash is picked up throughout the weekday.
I was born in Hinesville GA but lived in savannah. It's such a beautiful city with incredible history but like most cities in the USA it is plagued with violence and poverty.
Old school check-out time! I saw a red Chrysler,a '68 or '69 Pontiac, an early 90s Oldsmobile and a third-gen Camaro.I don't know if you passed the red Chrysler twice, but it looked more raggety the second time around. Tech tip: Trash goes IN the dumpster, not AROUND it,lol.
As sb who’s had experiences living all over Ga, Al and Tn. Savannah is the weirdest place to get stuck in. It changes from decent to terrible extremely quick. Quicker than Memphis surprisingly
Savannah looks pretty nice compared to some areas you've visited. It is always sad to see so many places essentially abandoned by government and society at large.
Like one person wrote the problem is not poverty but a lack of education of hygiene and care for their own neghborhood. At the base of all a lack of education.
This is interesting! I lived in Savannah for 3 years. I took a place over the net not knowing anything about the neighborhood. (I don't recommend it) The place was called Strathmore. The homes were cute and built in the 40s. I made mine super cute but I ended up moving just as they were ready to tear them down which was sad. They built three-story apartments in their place called Savannah Gardens. When I was there in 2007-2010 it was like the Wild wild west. Gunshots were going off at all hours of the day and night. I was terrified of being shot in the head as I slept by a stray bullet. In terms of the way I was treated I'd say it was a mixed review. Good by some and not as good by others at first, but eventually, I became a beloved member of the community. I have a lot of interesting stories about the place:-)🧚✨💫
Wow! I can't believe all the trash on the streets. When I lived at Strathmore Estates there wasn't trash on the ground. It was more park-like with trees and leaves on the ground, grass too, but no trash.
I’m canceling my trip to the Amalfi Coast. This is where it’s at!! I’m sure there are plenty of homies waiting to greet the tourists reassuring us that they outside gettin money and asking us repeatably if we feel them!

TWD based and filmed around Atlanta. Savannah is the first main coastal city in Georgia. It’s actually pretty nice in parts. It has a hella trashy beach called Tybee that’s pretty lit too. All in all, coastal GA is more about the history and ecology of the islands, not really about laying on the sand.
