I don't know if you actually know and are referring to it or not, but the hitbox of hatchets actually is a ball so the hitbox extends to the sides of the hatchet. While injured your hitbox is also a vertical pill where your feet/butt are + female survivors have the same hitbox as male survivors but are smaller. All three of these compound with ping and you get some really scuffed looking hits. Female survivors being smaller but having the same hitbox also explains why Huntress can hit the air above your head as a female survivor and you take damage.

A guy ran down to help me. They got hit right at the corner at the bottom of the stairs, ran ALL THE WAY AROUND the hooks, didn’t grab me, then tried running back up the stairs and died. I instinctively facepalmed for the first time in I dont know how long when I saw that.

On the Jane clip i've had that situation happen to me in the locker, but not how you would expect. The entire game a rebecca was hiding in lockers. At the end when it's just us 2 I had no chance of finishing the gens, so I hid in a locker, and then the rebecca saw it and got out to show the killer where I was so he killed me and let the rebecca go. I was jane, it was on the game, and it was a blight so this gave me flashbacks.
That first clip of a person named Ess Omen DC-ing and having a game ban reminded me of Team Essence, an old Gears of War competitive team. Honestly if that's an actual member of that team it would explain the attitude at least lol.
And for the Wraith hit the swing last a bit after the swing so if you jerk your pov quickly you can correct a miss if close enough or if they are 360ing

That was more of a “killer client sided” hit situation than a hitbox deceptive location situation… the hitbox is straight up from the hips so when you’re injured and leaning fwd hits can look even more scuffed but the fact that hit reg isn’t server sided is actually what makes hits extremely scuffed in this game. That hatchet went through a wall on his screen to connect.
Watching people play wesker and seeing him slide off everything and miss hits vs. literally every time I play against him and he grabs me from 30 feet away and slams me into air in an open field. Ah yes. the reasons this game is dying flow back to me.

Game bans on steam are more damning than VAC bans imho because VAC just means valve anti cheat and that kind of ban is only possible for some games. And it can be an auto ban function - whereas a dbd game ban can be a very personalized process… with manual dev banning… VAC bans can also do something like “I downloaded a mod for GTAV offline mode and when I went online the game detected I had mods and this I received a VAC ban.” Honest mistake, you need to be very careful with offline vs online pvp games that have connection - and modding them. 🤷🏻♀️
