Luckily the box "only" cost £14.99 but I genuinely doubt their claims over its value. HMV were always known for being more expensive than everywhere else in-store so I'd say they based the value on their own inflated sales prices, but I haven't been impressed with any of their boxes yet. Saying that I will be revisiting this, the red and blue boxes early next year to see if they've improved and to find out if I get anything different next time. - Simon
I had a feeling that it was Daniel Radcliffe but thought he looked too old to be Harry Potter related. I've only seen the films once and that was some time ago so I'm not that clued up on them! - Simon
Glad you enjoyed the video. We're still working to release four a month but if we can grow the channel a lot more, ideally we want to create a lot more in the future! - Simon
When I look at any box I tend to think about each item on a personal level and how I feel about them first and foremost. Anything unofficial will get plenty of criticism as you'll see in other videos, and the same with things I think are aimed at the wrong audience or are inappropriate. In the case of this box though, regardless of the RRP or HMV selling price, most items feel like they are products that the store couldn't sell and had excess stocks they couldn't shift. I've had boxes from Amazing Mystery Box, Wrestle Crate, Super Loot and even Zavvi that have given far more than the cost of the box so this was a real let down. When it comes to any box, I'd rather pay more for better items than what is essentially a "leftovers" box... - Simon
Fortunately the notebook found a new home pretty quickly and I've got plans for quite a few of the other things, but yeah even at a budget price it was pretty awful. If HMV can't sell a lot of this stock it would be better for them to put it in a £1 bargain bin by the checkouts rather than sell them to customers like this. Saying that I've seen expensive boxes that don't offer particularly good value either so prices can be misleading. The £25 sweet spot seems to give the best value I've seen and boxes that are around that price point seem to be the ones worth going for. This month's Doctor Who box was pretty stunning for the price. - Simon
That definitely seems to be the case so far. I've also noticed that a lot of their themed boxes have been supplied by the Amazing Mystery Box which would explain the quality difference. - Simon
Good grief I would have been disappointed with this for £14.99 let alone £30 😮 no way

Quality licensed products, £15 is a bargain mate

That is probably the worst mystery box I have ever seen, I would be gutted paying £15 for that box of tat lol
