I like the front stock with the rear under drive there's a giant rock here that's around 50°slope polished with the front over drive it would not get traction once I went back to stock up front it will climb it about half the time some day I'll try front and rear under drives but I'm happy with it the way it is for now
I hope I’m not too late lol but I was wondering if the new gear had the two pins that go into the notches in the locker housing ? A lot of the gears I’m looking at online don’t seem to have it and I was wondering how important that is
I ended up going with stock ratio in the rear and overdrive in the front. Is there any downside to this vs running stock in the front an underdrive in the rear?
Good morning, I have question, I have scx10.2 AR44 solid axle 30t ring / 8t pinion, I do both trailing and crawling. So I should keep stock up front and underdrive the rear? I'm running 35T motor and hobbywing 1080 ESC, what gear set would be good for this setup? Thank you !!!
I have a 1/10 yeti and I am putting a 56 t spur / 15 t pinion in it for speed ., what is your opinion on overdrive for both front & rear diff's since the only benefit I want is more speed ? Also what is your opinion on g3rc ?
im currently running stock wraith motor amd spur in my scx and looking for a lil more low end torque and a lil more top end i mostly ride trails not a comp rig but id like good low end tourque for geting over opsticals would this be good for me but i would do it to both axels
No, I’m from Kansas City and now live in Northern California. But I travel all over to crawl, and one destination was Prescott. Such an awesome and beautiful area!
Hmmm, axle housings, spur/pinion gears and slipper, trans case and outputs, skid plate, body, lockers, 12mm hexes, shock towers, rock sliders, ESC (crazy talk). That may be all :)
Just curious, why do you suggest doing the underdrive rear with stock front rather then the overdrive front with stock rear? Is one setup better then the other, if keeping 1 end stock? Thank you.
Great video Harley, very educational. Gives me something to think about weather or not I want to do both gears or rears only. See ya around RCC forums. " Revoasian "
I agree. All of this explaining and talk but it would be nice to see some actual before and after run differences. Hell, even just a run video in itself showing the thing working as he claims would be something
These are all mainly upgrades I'm very familiar with and have ran on a lot of trucks in the past. It's not something I'm guessing at what will work. However when I do go out I don't always film, I enjoy running and just don't always take the time to film out there. When we have a get together next I'll get someone to do some shooting.
Running the same setup in my 1.9 wraith and I'm quite happy with it.
Great job makin' these build series videos. They've helped me out a lot.
can you put underdrive front and back to gear it lower

None of the machined gears will have those pins. Its not needed.
@@HarleyDesignsIncyou the man !

osheathedj It gives you a more torque twist then going with the underdrive in the rear. But you'll be fine still.
Thank you kindly sir!
that ring gear looks exactly like the one on the hpi e10.. i might try to see if this fits for CS drifting.
Axial gears have swapped with HPI gears in the past, the MT4 specifically.
With a 9.5% underdrive in the rear only would that be beneficial for semi long trail/creek runs?
It would help performance, but will still cause more drag. But 9.5% would be perfectly fine for a trail rig.
@@HarleyDesignsInc much appreciated! These vanquish gears are headed into the CJ then 😀

Thanks for all the details.
Where could i find something like this for the SCX 10.2 ar44 pleas help. Thank you
That is a great mod. I did the under drive solely on the rear of my wraith and what a difference. Great vid

Excellent video installment. Thanks for going over the disadvantages as well as the advantages.

Is that the dells in Prescott in the beginning scenes ?
Yes it is!!
Cool are you from the area ?
No, I’m from Kansas City and now live in Northern California. But I travel all over to crawl, and one destination was Prescott. Such an awesome and beautiful area!
So what's left stock? All I can think of is shell, axle housings, transmission housing, esc?
Hmmm, axle housings, spur/pinion gears and slipper, trans case and outputs, skid plate, body, lockers, 12mm hexes, shock towers, rock sliders, ESC (crazy talk). That may be all :)

Lol I just asked the same question. Sorry I didn't see yours first!
osheathedj I guess great minds think alike. And inquiring minds want to know...
The underdrive rear will increase the gear ratio. This is best for torque twist, reducing drivetrain stress, etc.
Great explanation on the under/over gearing. i wish my full size jeep was this easy to Re-gear.
mike ginnow Me too!!! I'd love a deeper gear in my Jeep.
So you do have a full size jeep. What do you have?? I have a 99 XJ with 6.5" of llift on 35's
I have a 09 JKU.
Hi.. Good video👍.. This is valid to a scx10 2 Umg? Is the same gear ratio?
The same parts would not be used as the SCX10-2 uses different gears. But the principal is still relevant.
Nice explain! 11k subs too!
Thanks Rich, and I didn't notice until you mentioned it this morning! Love seeing the growth.
Thanks for the great Info. Very helpful and interesting.
Thank you for sharing your builds on this one. :)
cool vid
nice budget build !! keep it up :)

Running video sometime? All I see is upgrades but so far all they do is sit on a shelf.
