In 1985 when i was not yet 16, my friend let me make a copy of his record on audio cassette. It was my first hard rock/heavy metal music. Not sure where the tape is now, but i listened to it hundreds of times over many years. Great to hear it again, and finally watch the concert video, and in better audio quality of course. 40 years later! Thanks for posting.

Meh. I think they just jumped on the metal bandwagon because it was a way to get a shot at fame. They were actually a bubble gum pop band with some success before going Metal. Watch the Metal School Channel that has a Doc on them.
Do more than watch the Metal School segment. Look up Lazy on Wikipedia. They wanted to rock, but their manager and label were in control. Heck, they took their name from a Deep Purple song! So meh to your assessment of their metal pedigree.

I was in the Navy in 85, and my late friend Tatom Fisher had a cassette tape if this show. Not since 85 have I been able to hear this, and it brings back memories of Tatom, who passed away from ALS. Heavenward, Mr Fisher, Akira kicks ass!
That's crazy, I was in the Army in 85 stationed at Fort Ord, CA and my Army buddy Ray and fellow metalhead was from Petaluma, CA about a 3 hour drive away. He invited me to stay with his family on weekends and the first time I went, he took me to his friend's party with other metalheads. I was from Detroit, but it was cool how I got along good with all his California friends having the love metal in common. I heard Loudness jamming on the stereo at this party and I'm like, "what the fuck is this, it's amazing" and was told Loudness from Japan. Well, I was an instance fan. What's crazy is, after we both were discharged, I returned to CA to visit Ray a couple times over the years and kept in touch with him. In 2011, I was talking to Ray and he told me he was sick, but wouldn't elaborate and said he'd be OK...then about 5 months later I get a call from his sister telling me he passed away from pancreatic cancer. Every time I hear Loudness and Queensrÿche, Ray's fav band, I think of Ray.
