I can relate! For my TH-cam guitar lessons I used to use the 'annotation' feature to post the tabs in my lesson videos. But the tabs would move around like jello on different sized screens.....grrrr! Thankfully the annotation feature was removed about ten years ago as it was crappy anyways.

I think it's pulling from a database (corpora) of previously translated content, and the closest thing it can find to the garbled mess of punctuation that is a guitar tab is probably some previously translated sentence with a bunch of hyphens and similar but sometimes differing numbers in it. Unfortunately, machine translation lacks the common sense to recognise when something doesn't need translating at all.

I feel the need to address the bashing of drummers in these videos. The reason guitarists hate drummers, in my experience as a 40 year plus professional drummer, is that guitarists can't play in time. They expect the drummer to follow them, even when they venture into the unknown as far as the time signature goes. Guitarists think they are infallible when it comes to the time signature of the song, but blame the drummer when they are off. This is especially true of guitarists that haven't played with live bands before. It's one thing to play with a recording, and another to play with real musicians...just saying..don't bash drummers just because you have a drum machine to do the work for you in the studio. A good drummer can make a band, and a bad drummer can break a band...I'll just leave it at that...

When I started playing guitar, tabs did not even exist. I can read music....can't read tab to save my life! I'm trying to learn how to do so.

I think it's pulling from a database (corpora) of previously translated content, and the closest thing it can find to the garbled mess of punctuation that is a guitar tab is probably some previously translated sentence with a bunch of hyphens and similar but sometimes differing numbers in it. Unfortunately, machine translation lacks the common sense to recognise when something doesn't need translating at all.

I feel the need to address the bashing of drummers in these videos. The reason guitarists hate drummers, in my experience as a 40 year plus professional drummer, is that guitarists can't play in time. They expect the drummer to follow them, even when they venture into the unknown as far as the time signature goes. Guitarists think they are infallible when it comes to the time signature of the song, but blame the drummer when they are off. This is especially true of guitarists that haven't played with live bands before. It's one thing to play with a recording, and another to play with real musicians...just saying..don't bash drummers just because you have a drum machine to do the work for you in the studio. A good drummer can make a band, and a bad drummer can break a band...I'll just leave it at that...
