Great review, man! Thanks for the heads-up on this!
Thank you! Yeah it’s definitely a great value for the price!
I have the PRO version and recommend that version because it includes the great spring loaded collapsible sunhood. Also handy is to buy a short angled hdmi cable (but that is just personal). The new Viltrox NP batteries are available in various sized and have led power indication and can be charged with the build-in usb-c connector. Ciao
How is the latency?
Hi, im shooing with a Sony a7c. I use the HLG picture profile. Is this monitor able to display that without issues? Thanks for the vid
Can we power the Monitor by Power Bank if we shoot in Outdoor for long Days how to power for continues shoot please response ASAP ?
Yeah can shoot with power bank. Probably nice if you got a combo of batteries with the power bank.
Thank you so muuch! Brooth, I have a question, can I use the USBC to power the Monitor and then use the DC port to connect a Dummy Battery to my camera??
the USB-C yes. The DC port is only an "in" port.
Id love if it could record 1080p to the SD for quick social media dumps while the camera holds the RAW data for the main project.
That would be the day! I wish they did too. Everything being recorded to SSD’s though.
I have it mounted on my Fx30 run and gun rig. It is a perfect combo....
Do you also use it with a handle? Which one if so?
@@MikeBSalazar I use ProAim Nato handle.
@@MikeBSalazar if you share your email, I can send the photo.
What affordable monitor & recorder would you recommend?
I’ve only tried the atomos ninja v and the accsoon seemo for a more budget friendly option. They’re both good but atomos ninja v if you want the best quality. Seemo more for documentation purposes.
Good day, will this work with the Sony A6400 by chance?
Oh definitely will.
@@MikeBSalazar thanks bro.
Had problems with my DC550 Pro after only 2-3 uses with my Nikon Z9. The screen will flicker off/on and say 'no signal'. I've checked cords, connections, output settings, fan speed...even looked for any new firmware updates - none available. So far Viltrox customer support has been no help, e-mailing me back saying to get in touch with their official store - with the same e-mail address...? Stay tuned - a little disappointed after all the hype.
I don’t know of others using the pro version but that’s similar to my regular model. if it’s returnable, better off that way.
My second monitor holds up now.
Does the eye focus show on the monitor
If you switch the hdmi settings to output the camera display to the monitor yes
Thank you.
A dude.
Dc-550 is tactile?
Tactile?
@@MikeBSalazar He means touch. (Touchscreen)
Is it the 550 or the 550 pro bro? Autofocus is not possible??
I have the regular 550. What do you mean no autofocus?
@@MikeBSalazar tap the screen to focus on a subject instead of touching the dslr screen to do so
@@97sveryown63 None unfortunately. You'd have to use portkeys monitor to do so.
Confused by your title
Thank you for pointing that out!
@@MikeBSalazarjust a head’s up you can edit/change it
I have! Thank you again!
I work in the industry and if you’re getting paid for gigs extend your budget these cheap monitors become a hassle when focus pulling
Thanks for sharing. Is it because of the size? Accuracy of the focus area?
@@MikeBSalazar So we vet a ton of monitors and we found as of recent the atomos to be really bad at focus pulling for a pro AC and personally on my projects I'm done using these cheap ones especially if you want to do this as a career. There are reasons why some are much more expensive. SmallHD has been king for us for quite some time. I hope these companies like the one's you are profiling get better because it does hurt my wallet. Another thing with these is no SDI no, nobody here will use an hdmi or mini hdmi monitor.
@@MonstroInLA Appreciate the input! I have noticed that serious pros lean towards the Small HD monitors. Can't say I'm aiming to work in the industry, but I am curious about that world. I'll be more specific when I talk about who I think this is for as I see my focus more on content creation, especially for solo creators. Thanks again for sharing!
@@MikeBSalazar no problem for hobbyist sure but I’m waiting for prices to drop on 12g sdi versions
Missing monitor in the title? 😊
Thanks for mentioning!
@@MikeBSalazar no problemo :) It got me to click :D
What about raw footage
It doesn’t record any raw or prores raw like the atomos
@@MikeBSalazar how much is the Atmos
Search, bro@@kellcoleStyleEnt
The latency is pretty bad in my experience testing it out
Hmmm. What kind of stuff are you shooting?
@@MikeBSalazar cars, sports, models, real estate, nature. Sent it back and trying another one soon. I think this monitor is good for studio podcasts or this like a subject seating talking etc.
Any luck?
@@MikeBSalazar Got a FeelWorld monitor. Currently testing it out. So far feels better and latency is better... No issues. Thank for checking! Keep the videos coming please
naaah bro i get that they send you this for free but saying that you changing ninja v for this is just wild
I mean, someone else is enjoying it more than I am right now when I sold it to them haha.
