- Auf Empfehlung von Freunden besuchte ich die grosse Markthalle von Ponta Delgada erst am Freitagmorgen, wenige Stunden vor meinem Rückflug nach Düsseldorf.
Und ich muss sagen, es war ein Erlebnis. Beim nächsten Besuch auf der Insel sehr gern wieder.
I remember visiting this place. I was fascinated how everything was open air market. .but the meat market was in a glass cased room. and the meat wasn't precut. .you tell the butcher what size cut you want from the steaks. Amazing experience for food shopping. And I had a good meal that night.
Thanks for your comment, yes it is already beautiful in Ponta Delgada. Also my impressions regarding the fish department in the market hall were similar to yours when selling meat.

@@tatze2108 no Canadian since 86 . Hope to one day go back . Go to faja de cima . To of the hill before turning for carreira. Where the old milk Depot use to be up around new hospital . Very quaint great people .

@@medeirosrui1576 my uncle lives in faja de cima area. I had the pleasure of visiting him after 30 years away. I walked from faja de cima to the tourist walk there in ponta delgada. .it was longer than I expected. .but man, do I have some great photos and gopro video to mark the occasion. Then I was off to visit my home island. .Lajes in Terceira. Had to run with the bulls in the streets. Good times
