This tune and harmony combo really lends itself to a pipe organ in a stone cathedral. Great choice, Matt, along with your registration and modification. You’re one impressive guy!
I sent this to my brother yesterday because it's one of his favorites and I knew he had never heard it performed on an organ. What I didn't know was that the veterinarian was at their home helping he and his wife say goodbye to their beloved dog, Gabe. They opened it shortly after and listened. To say that it was an emotional moment for them is an understatement. A remarkable coincidence made possible by your beautiful performance. Thank you.
Gary Brooker would have been so pleased with that rendition of his classic song. Brilliant Matt. Just come to this from watching a live performance from Jan Liebermann. Two hours of organ music in one night, wonderful. Thanks for sharing. James.
Oncec again Matt, you have bought a tear to my eyes and areal big smile to my face at the same time. This was one of my late mothers favourite tunes. You play this with so much feeling and warmth. Thank you Matt. Brilliant!.
Oh Matt that’s awesome! I closed my eyes and I was back in jr high school when this came out We played it constantly at my first “make out party”! 😂 Seriously man you did a beautiful job Thanks ❤
Tuesday, February 6 11:34 AM in Massachusetts. Absolutely love listening to you play and this was phenomenal. I have to assume that your love for the Lord is at least as strong as your love for the beautiful music that you play.
Bravo bravo maths 10 music is mine 1968 Procol Harum, you play Sowell merci Matt i love your music Philippe Dubois de Caen une Normandie Philippe Dubois
Procul Harum's piece has lasted decades and centuries before when Bach composed the original tune- thanks for playing this Matt I grew up in the 60's so Procul Harum is no stranger to me.
Matt, This was the very first bridal introit I played on a rickety old 2 manual tracker at Holy Angels in Poole, aged 15. Jeepers did I ache. Could I request my most favourite camp classic please? Oliphant Chuckerbutty's Paean (or Wilson Oliphant if you have difficulty with the full name)? I would be exceedingly grateful Thank you young talented star (I was the past, you are the present, another will succeed us both on the stool - make every moment count) Rt Rev Dr Barry Rathbone
You know I love this. I'm going to try to find out what CD this is on and order that CD. Thanks. Do you know that Gary Booker was still playing this at live performances in his 70s and you would still think he was in his teens as far as voice is concerned. (Not so with hair, but so what).
Hey Matt, again - you have a done an amazing job. You make the music come alive. Your passion is unbelievable. I could definitely hear the theme from "Air on the G String". I know there is discussion about this being the foundation of the piece but I don't know the truth of that discussion.
Just subbed! Crazy talent bro! Can you do a GLORIA cover? That’s such a classic Catholic piece. Lookup Gloria from the mass of creation by Gregory Lambousy if you can’t find what I mean 🤙🏼

"'One of sixteen vestal virgins leavin' for the coast.' what's that mean?"
"I never understood that either. It's a very peculiar lyric."

Beautiful playing.. I wish the video sequences were less abrupt. Closeups of the hands would be a nice addition.. just slowly zoom and linger.
Super sehr sehr schön..👍
Well done!
