No disrespect to Blackpink because they are my ultimate faves right now but YG needs to look at Mamamoo and see that THIS is what a quartet is capable of if they are given sufficient training, backing by the company and artistic freedom. People always talk about how Kpop groups are larger for a reason to fill in gaps etcetera but Mamamoo proves that if each member of a small group is able to display their talent to the fullest extent you get something truly amazing!

They had multiple wardrobe malfunctions, there was no stage design, no variation or remix of the song, no dance break. They might as well have been on Inkigayo. L YG doesn’t know how to manage their company’s talent especially their talented female idols we been knew. YG didn’t deserve 2NE1 and they don’t deserve Blackpink. Also letting Idols have some control over their artistic expression only makes their stage performances more passionate so they should not only give more training to the girls (and let Rose song in her natural voice please) but they should also give more freedom to the girls to contribute to their music and dance and performances. They will be happier and more passionate to perform something they had a hand in creating. Mamamoo does almost all their own choreography and they write a lot of music and tracks on their albums

They have the looks, the talent and the personalities to go all the way but they had ONE comeback this year. Most groups have AT LEAST 2 comebacks in a year. A 2 year old group should have a full album and more than 9 songs. Some people’s albums have more than 9 songs. We’re just getting breadcrumbs. Although they only had 3/4 minute stage at MMA, they could have organised a remix or dance break or something. I believe they are being mismanaged and YG has no idea how to capitalise off their popularity. He’s just gonna let them be mediocre and ride the wave until another girl group snatches their spot.
