I was just contemplating making a shirt and wanting a Mandarin collar. Talk about amazing coincidence that your video pops up minutes later! Thank you!
I'm working on a mandarin collared capelet and it has a large, almost Elizabethan like, frill along the top edge. I guess I used it as a sort of standing collar.
What about if the garment has a button band, do I increase the length of the collar? Loved your explanation. So clear and precise. Thank you. Great teacher! So this part is an edit: I figured out the length of the collar does includes the button band. I followed your video working with you precisely and slowing down the speed. I did it! I was so scared I couldn't do it but you made it sooo easy. Thank you a hundred times. Now my dress will not have the collar of the commercial pattern, but will have mine. Now to sew it! I feel like I've grown a bit in my sewing venture. Thanks again!
GREAT VIDEO! So very clear and interesting with your experiential insights! 👏 If using a fusible interfacing, would you meld the interfacing to the TOP collar or UNDER collar? Thank you! 🥰
Thanks so much for this. If I were to make a mandarin collar that is on fold on the center front, what adjustments can I make to this pattern to make it fit nicely round the neckline?
Literally making a tunic worth a mandarin collar now, what perfect timing!
Your explanation was the best I have seen. I plan on creating a collar from your explanation. Thank you so much.
