David is incredibly famous and a brilliant actor. Why hasn’t he ever been approached for a major film . I loved him as Kilgrave but he would’ve been amazing in a multi million dollar Marvel film as well. So why hasn’t he had the chance to do anything like that
Obviously, I don't know him or what he has been offered or hasn't, but his career has mostly been one of television and theatre and has done comparatively few films in general. I would guess he prefers working in longer formats, and that with his renown and positive reputation, if he wanted to be in more large blockbusters, he would be. That being said, I think Harry Potter can be considered a pretty major film.
i agree totally that he should be in big roles but at the same time he has been in some of the biggest franchises like marvel,harry potter and one or maybe even the biggest show in britain (doctor who).

Dean Devlin probably sunk him completely with Bad Samaritan, which was self-funded and still he managed to get it on many screens but with little advertising; it's considered one of the biggest box office flops in history. This, after Dean said no one wanted to fund it with David in the lead, but he was adamant. He's just not Hollywood glam material. Which is fine with me. I love him and will watch anything he is in.

Jessica Jones was one of the best shows of the past 20 yrs. Just a phenomenal show. Great performances, excellent writing, brilliant cinematography. Krysten gave a knockout performance worthy of an Emmy. Unjustly, she wasn’t even nominated 😡I miss the show already. I WANT A JESSICA JONES MOVIE!!!
I mean, I thought the first season was great, but Ritter's acting was mediocre at best. Her line delivery was flat and she often sounded like she was reading off a script. Not to mention she maintained one facial expression throughout the whole series. On the other hand, Carrie Ann Moss as Jeri Hogarth was fantastic. She had a subtlety in her performance that suggested that beneath that professional veneer, she was a heartless sadist. And of course, Tennant stole every scene he was in.
It wasn't but when I saw it people were bashing it a lot. And Daredevil was great. When I saw Jessica jones I saw it open minded and I really enjoyed it. Frankly is better than any MCU series released on Disney+.

So for this reason I feel like her delivery makes sense. Not flat, I feel, but just with those idiosyncracies.

Howdy! Charles here! I would like to answer this question for you. I called him "Scottish Jesus", as an exaggerated joke, meaning that Mr. Tennant is somewhat "holy". David Tennant is my all time favorite actor and has been such an inspiration for me (although I do believe I wasted my question). Basically, calling him "Scottish Jesus" was my hyperbolic way of saying that he is incredibly wonderful. I also thought it was funny.

That only happens sometimes, not all the time, it isn't a given. More often the main actors get offered Executive Producer roles at some point (not always 5 years or later) as a way of keeping them happy, give them more control and make sure they don't leave the show.
I just came across this video, and it’s so weird that David’s not using his actual accent. I have seen him use a toned-down Scottish/kinda English accent when he’s in the States, but it’s still weird.
His Scottish accent is already toned down though from what it used to be, like in his very early roles. I think maybe he tones it down some more when not speaking to a UK audience, but I think it's still pretty close to how he usually speaks here. It's not like he'd speak like in Broadchurch otherwise haha.
