Trump has some pretty good ideas on how to reduce that debt, however it will take commitment for many years (and administrations) to get it to an acceptable level. Cutting spending is the main thing which means termination of many, perhaps 50% of government "jobs" and pensions. Some of the cut backs are obvious, (we don't need the Federal Department of Education) but just how to do that on a massive scale is the biggest problem.
